1 Corinthians 1:30. Of Him, and you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us Wisdom and Righteousness, and Sanctification and Redemption.

In Our Covenant With God In Christ, the believer freely receives from heaven (grace), that they may freely give in service to the Lord (stewardship by faith, and faithfulness).
A covenant relationship consists of two elements: receiving and faithfulness with what we have received.

Redemption is not complete until the last day.
Ephesians 4:30. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Ephesians 1:13. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
Luke 21:28. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.

We are aware of the tremendous price that was paid for our redemption on the cross. The purpose of redemption is not simply that you can go to heaven when you die. The purpose of redemption is reconciliation with The Father.
Romans 5:10. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
By His death on the Cross, the Son has paid the price of redemption that we may be reconciled to The Father. Having been reconciled, we are being saved by His life. This is accomplished by faithfulness to this Truth.
Reconciliation is not a one way ticket to heaven, but a call to Faithfulness.

2 Corinthians 5:18-20. Now all things of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God is pleading through us: we implore on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

We can clearly see that our reconciliation is for God’s own purpose. The word of reconciliation is not ever “repeat this prayer after me, and if you die in the next 2 minutes you will go to heaven”. We are to partake in the ministry of reconciliation. The final verse of this passage is taken out of this context to support eternal salvation without faithfulness.
V. 21. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (for what purpose?)

1 John 3:7. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that works righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.
Revelation 17:14b. He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those with Him- called, chosen[elect], and faithful.
2 Peter 1:10.
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure.
2 Timothy 1:9. He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
Ephesians 2:10. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Philippians 2:12, 13. Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
Revelation 2:2-5. I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
Luke 13:3. I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
Revelation 3:19. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

The Parable of The Unfaithful Servant Matthew 25:14-30.
4
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18B ut he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
20 “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 22He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ 23His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’
26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.
For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.
And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

So what are your thoughts on the other messages to the Churches in Asia Minor?
I have many. After all, that is two chapters of red letter instruction. What I included here was illustrative of the point I was making in the essay. Just to at least give you something of an answer, I like to point out that the promises for the churches by the Spirit are for those who overcome. Not simply believe. An important distinction, for later the Lord says:
Revelation 21:7. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

Yes indeed. But are not parts of messages to 5 of the Churches also directed at those that do not overcome? I hope to not find myself within this category! :amen:
Very good. I was just focused on the promises, but you are right, the warnings are probably more important for a time such as this!

One of my favorite scriptures is rev 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives to death.
