What exactly is God's Plan in our life? (Does it even exist?)
Yes > our Heavenly Father is personal with us, all the time, always developing us and our lives. And people who don't know or experience this are being developed in His plan, somehow. Everyone and everything is perfectly coordinated for His love benefit.

And what is His overall plan, the focus of all?

"For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." (Romans 8:29)

What I get is how our Father was so delighted with His Son, before They created this universe. So, God made this universe as His place for begetting children whom He would conform to how His Son Jesus is so pleasing to Him in love. So, the whole universe is included in God fulfilling His focus purpose. And so are all things, and how they are working > all is about God having many children who are like Jesus.

And our Apostle Paul says, this is what his ministry is about >

Colossians 1:28-29 >

"Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily." (Colossians 1:28-29)

So, our Apostle Paul understands that God works in him according to God's overall purpose of perfecting us to be like Jesus. And this is what God is doing in all of us who are His children . . . in us and around us. This is a basic of the Bible >

"for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13)

This is how personally interested and invested our Father is in each of us. We are this important to Him. So, we find this and discover this, by submitting to how God right in our willing and doing shares with each of us.

Something I now think of is > we can see that we ourselves are not the centerpiece of God's love, then, but He is about how delighting Jesus is so He wants to change us to also be delighting like Jesus. So, He is loving us, by changing us . . . with the correction needed, of course, for this . . . so we can more and more share with Him and submit to Him like His Son Jesus does.

But there are people who seem to be getting told that God just loves them to bits and wants to spoil them . . . not a word about how to be corrected and conformed to the image of Christ. So, God's word does not mean our Father just loves us as we are while we can just go on being selfish and troubled and confused and not loving and forgiving the way God has loved and forgiven us. But His unconditional love for us is our example, required also of us!

So, yes He has His plan for you, but not while you just sit around waiting for things to work out and come your way; so you are right not to be like that. And, though you may be not sure . . . God knows you care; so if you have any concern, trust Him with this >

"casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)

What exactly is God's Plan in our life? (Does it even exist?)

If so, how can we know of it? How do we follow it? Is the success of it dependent on our actions? (good and bad decisions)

Is it possible to alter it so that it can suit our specific needs and situation?
There is general God's plan revealed in the New Covenant:
Believe in Christ, do good to your neighbor, love your enemies,

If God wants to give you some specific instruction, He will tell you, you do not have to ask about it every day.

Our primary purpose is to love and serve God. You will find it is much easier and more fulfilling to alter your needs and plans than it is attempt to convince God to alter His.

God has a plan for each one of us. The church is the Body of Christ. We should be prepared to surrender all our personal preferences to allow God to fit us into His purpose. You can imagine what it would be like if a knee went on strike and decided that it wanted to be an elbow. The mess that the church is today is partly a result of ignoring God's order.

If we you are willing, God will reveal His purpose for your life to you. It will likely not be what you would like for yourself. It will be the very best, better than you can imagine. When the Lord revealed to me what He wanted, I said something to the effect of you have to be kidding. I gave in eventually and I'm glad that I did.

Every organization needs a simple “Mission Statement” that all other objectives are subordinate to. God seems to give us the Mission Statement as the two greatest commands combined to be “Love God (and secondly others) with all your heart, soul, mind and energy.” The first thing we need to fulfill our earthly mission is to obtain this huge unique Godly type Love.

The reason you have free will is because it is required for you to complete your earthly objective.

This messed up world which includes satan roaming around is not here for your pleasure, but to help you become like God Himself in that you have the unique, unbelievable Godly type Love (God himself is Love).

God has created beings to shower them with the greatest gifts possible, the greatest gift being having a Love like His.

If there is this Creator of the universe out there, His “creations” could not really “do” anything for Him, so this Creator would have to be seen as a Giver (Unselfish Lover) and not trying to “get” something from His creation.

Why would God have a totally unselfish type of Love, since He personally would not get anything out of it? If God’s “Love” is some kind of knee jerk reaction, then it is really meaningless (something like; gravity which is nice to have, but everyone automatically has it). God Loves us in spite of what we have done, who we are or what we will do, so it has to be by His choice.

God would create the right universe for the sake of the individuals that will accept His gift (the most powerful force [Love] in all universes, since that force [Love] compels even God to do all He does) and thus we become like He is (the greatest gift He could give).

What keeps the all-powerful Creator from just giving whatever He wants to his creation, eliminating the need for free will and this earthly time.

There are just something even an all-powerful Creator cannot do (there are things impossible to do), like create another Christ since Christ has always existed, the big impossibility for us is; create humans with instinctive Godly type Love, since Godly type Love is not instinctive. Godly type love has to be the result of a free will decision by the being, to make it the person’s Love apart from God. In other words: If the Love was in a human from the human’s creation it would be a robotic type love and not a Godly type Love. Also if God “forces” this Love on a person (Kind a like a shotgun wedding) it would not be “loving” on God’s part and the love forced on the person would not be Godly type Love. This Love has to be the result of a free will moral choice with real alternatives (for humans those alternatives include the perceived pleasures of sin for a season.)

This Love is way beyond anything humans could develop, obtain, learn, earn, pay back or ever deserve, so it must be the result of a gift that is accepted or rejected (a free will choice).

This “Love” is much more than just an emotional feeling; it is God Himself (God is Love). If you see this Love you see God.

Let me just give you an example of How God works to help willing individuals.

All mature adults do stuff that hurts others (this is called sin) these transgressions weigh on them burden them to the point the individual seeks relief (at least early on before they allow their hearts to be hardened). Lots of “alternatives” can be tried for relief, but the only true relief comes from God with forgiveness (this forgiveness is pure charity [grace/mercy/Love]). The correct humble acceptance of this Forgiveness (Charity) automatically will result in Love (we are taught by Jesus and our own experience “…he that is forgiven much will Love much…”). Sin is thus made hugely significant, so there will be an unbelievable huge debt to be forgiven of and thus result in an unbelievable huge “Love” (Godly type Love).

If the nonbeliever had knowledge of God's existence that person would not need faith in God's existence, but faith is needed for humility and humility is needed to humbly accept pure charity and the only way to get Godly type Love is through accepting it as pure charity in the form of forgiveness.

That is an introduction to a huge topic.

What exactly is God's Plan in our life? ...

Because Bible tells eternal life is for righteous, I think the plan in our life is that we would become righteous and love others as ourselves.

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Mat. 25:46

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

How do we follow it?

By having love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Is the success of it dependent on our actions? (good and bad decisions)

All we can do is surrender our lives to God.

Is it possible to alter it so that it can suit our specific needs and situation?

What is our motive to alter? If we have no love, then we are nothing and we gain nothing.

I like a quote that I read on here recently that goes something like this, "Read scripture to know God's will. Obey scripture to do God's will."

The Bible truly is basic instructions before leaving earth. Another great resource I would recommend getting is the classic book by Henry Blackaby called "Experiencing God."

Romans chapter 8 is a great chapter about the glorious eternal purposes of God.

I've heard that author is classic; I've not read the book, I don't think.

What I am concerned about is the possibility of failure once I commit a sin, I'm afraid all those plans would not go according to expectations. For me, there is some need to commit evil in order to live my daily life well, it's not that I want it, I do so because it is the best option. So I can't always be perfect and up to expectation.

That's why I asked if there's a way to somehow check the plan and see if there's some allowance for mistakes, or if the plan had already considered my personality. Because if not, the plan would definitely fail for me.

The bible has also been vague about it.

I can't do that. Not because I don't want to, it's because I just can't, it's just part of my default personality. I care for family, but that's it. If God could program my hormones to love others, I would willingly ask for it for salvation.

There is no plan in the sense that you are talking about. We have a goal. We are called to walk towards it. God's word is lamp to our feet. The way is narrow. We have the inner guide, the Holy Spirit, to lead us. If we stick to the narrow path, God will bring us through. There is no 8-lane highway with lighting every inch of the way for Christians. That's the broad way to destruction.

No one has to commit evil. God's way is not evil. Set yourself to go God's way. He'll take care of all that you need. Don't be afraid of failure. All the great men of God were also huge failures. God uses our failures to bring us into a place where we depend on Him and not ourselves.

Are you intentionally going about committing the sin even when the Holy Spirit convicts you? If you repent and turn away from sin every time, then don't worry and trust that God will take care of executing His plan for your life if you surrender to obey Him. All He requires from us is that we delight in Him and be willing to obey and love Him even during the difficult times.

It's all about what Paul calls 'the obedience of faith' and 'obedience to the faith' in Romans.

be confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
That's a great verse from Philippians that has strengthened me no end over many years... :)

I understand your concern. God is still working in all of us. I'm sure you will learn and mature as you keep walking in faith. It might take time and effort but you will eventually become strong in your spirit, that's when your system will be automatically reset towards His purpose for you.

This is more likely to happen as we pursue prayer and the Scriptures diligently over the months and years, on a daily basis.
