THEOCRACY/THEARCHY - Past And Future

What would be the difference between God’s rulership in the past with the physical Israel here on earth and the spiritual Israel that is to come. God will still be ruling from His holy city of Jerusalem.

While I ponder this in my spirit, I honestly think we will be perfectly able to keep the complete instructions of God in the kingdom that is to come, the same which the physical Israel failed at. And it is for this reason God made a way for us through His Son.

We must remember the distinction between Jews, Gentiles and the church of God (1 Corinthians 10.32): the Lord is sovereign Ruler over all, while the way He rules may differ from time to time according to His purposes.

The big difference will be that there won't be any sinful humans messing things up like there are here on earth. A Theocracy, which is a form of communism where the church is at the head, operating in a fallen world will not last. The US really utilizes the best form of government that can be run by sinners, even though it is still corrupt there are checks and balances in place to mitigate that corruption to a degree.

Do you mean there will be distinction in the future kingdom? It's hard to think that the same God will rule differently in His future kingdom. The only slight difference i can see is that He is more gracious during this current grace period, as He is allowing this for now, since we are still in our physical state of being and imperfect in a fallen world.

The U.S. is more Communist than the Torah. The Torah calls for only 10% tax. By the time you ad up all of the taxes in the U.S., including inflation (hidden tax) you're at over 50% for most people.

There may be some socialistic programs (welfare) in place, but we are a representative republic. Only slightly less corrupt than the nation it was modeled after.

I think that it would be easier to keep the Torah in the time of Yahshua, than now. Having a community around you, who are observant too, makes it easier to be observant.

For example, I have to read every package of prepared food that I buy, because it might have pork in it. In the Kingdom, I could grab whatever I want off the shelf, in confidence.

Having Yahshua right there, to make sure everyone is doing it right, would be awesome.

I don't want to hijack this thread with politics; but we stopped being a Republic when Congress adjourned sine die.

I think that is why Yahshua said who teach and practice them would be called great in His kingdom. I'm glad that you delight in the His instructions even when it's not that easy.

At least here in the U.S. I don't have to worry too much about being attacked for what I believe.

For some people it's not so easy. I have great admiration for those who come to faith in Yahshua in the face of great adversity.

With that kind of reasoning then we temporarily cease being a republic every time congress goes on vacation. Which is not true as congress can be called back into session at any time.

OK, this is the last time I'm responding to the politics here. Sine die means without day. When congress walked out without setting a day to reconvene; our constitutional republic ceased to exist. Who has the power to declare war under the constitution? Congress. Lincoln had no such authority. He stepped up as a dictator and declared war on the States, and the People that gave the U.S. government any authority to begin with. We have been under emergency rule ever since 1933. See: Senate Report 93-549 (1973) Nothing has changed since then.

@gospels , per Daniel 2, Jesus will be ruling in Person. There will be no more uncertain middlemen in His place (who might quench what the Spirit wants to do, if it is unprecedented). And no compromise with anyone who seeks to undermine His rule.

Freedom to live Godly and resistance to encroaching sin. Win/win!

I refer to the Kingdom where Jesus rules the Earth in Person as the Thearchy. (It is a real word in the dictionary.)

As a dispensationalist I guess I would say that it's not that the character of God changes at all, but his dealings develop, depending on His purposes and on the group of people (1 Cor. 10.32) concerned.

The Kingdom has come and it is a Spiritual Kingdom, as soon as you try to imagine an earthly physical kingdom you windup with huge issues. A Spiritual Kingdom that extends into heaven and infinite resolve the issues. On earth we are sexual beings, which creates natural competition, coveting, jealousy and if everyone does not have it all (like we find in heaven) there will be sinful desires?
