This is the most anti-life thing Trump could have done. It wasn't brilliant or brave. It was cowardly scapegoating to cover up his own irresponsible actions. It's gaslighting. I remember all the ppl here parroting the crap he said for TWO MONTHS totally wasting time to prepare.

Oh sorry this is the Catholic section.

I'll take another leave from CF. This is just hurting me being here. I can't read ppl calling what is evil good. Mods can remove it. They can remove me if they want. I can't take this toxicity into my heart anymore.

I’m sorry Cimorene. I know a lot of things on the board are hard to take at times.

I could hardly disagree more regarding Trump and the WHO, but I agree the pain and division here is hard to take. They haven't figured out yet that there should be separate sections for Left and Right, to keep contention down.

Not everyone was thrilled with Trump’s decision. Today pro-abortion Bill Gates tweeted: “Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds. Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs WHO more now than ever.

Key word, "should". But it's hard to take repeated unrestrained negativity thread after thread, day after day, even as a purported adult.

The hope is as a community, these threads are a point of discussion and we as a community can discuss them and work through them without the oneupmanship. Sadly, nobody seems to interested in anything edifying or uplifting. Isn’t it about turning these topics around as a community? Respectfully?

I think Trump did the right thing. The WHO has been nothing but a mouth piece for the Chinese government and the pro abortion movemnet. The same thing with the UN. They hide under a veneer of moral self-righteousness but under the surface they are far from it.

This from the WHO:

“In the face of a previously unknown virus, China has rolled out perhaps the most ambitious, agile and aggressive disease containment effort in history,” WHO experts said in their February report on the mission to China. The country had gained “invaluable time for the response” in an “all-of-government and all-of society approach” that has averted or delayed hundreds of thousands of cases, protecting the global community and “creating a stronger first line of defense against international spread.”

China’s “uncompromising and rigorous use of non-pharmaceutical measures” provides vital lessons for the global response, the WHO report said. Beijing’s strategy “demonstrated that containment can be adapted and successfully operationalized in a wide range of settings.”
