Inevitably they’ll start cleaning it up, get accused by the GOP of having caused it in the first place, and then the electorate will hand Republicans a big win in the mid-terms because they have the attention span of a teenager with ADHD.

For the virus itself? The Chinese for allowing wet markets to continue. It's not enough to just blame them for why it started though, governments should and will all be held accountable by their citizens for how they responded to the danger.

Scientists have backed off the claim that it started in those markets. It’s possible, but they’re no longer as sure.

White House Says Trump 'Is Not Firing Dr. Fauci'

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top immunologist who has been helping steer President Trump's pandemic policy, doesn't appear in immediate danger of being fired.

The White House rejected what it called speculation about that prospect even though President Trump retweeted a tweet on Sunday that included the hashtag #FireFauci.

"This media chatter is ridiculous – President Trump is not firing Dr. Fauci," White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said in a statement on Monday.

Gidley said Trump's tweet was an attempt to deflate a narrative that Trump had acted too slowly in response to the pandemic. "Dr. Fauci has been and remains a trusted advisor to President Trump," he added.

Well, now that the White House has officially declared that Fauci is not being fired, it's time for Donald, contrarian that he is, to prove them wrong and show him the door.

Trump. China didn't make are policy decisions that have multiplied this disease. Vietnam is right next to China and has had 0 COVID deaths.

Fauci couldn't publically give advice about stay-at-home, social distancing, and other mitigation measures without the President being on board. Publically he had to be as much in line with the President's instructions as he could.

All we have is his public statement. What he described at the time was that the risk was low, etc. and gave an explanation for why he thought they could still track it down.

If he is only saying what he is instructed to, then we shouldn't be listening to him at all. But I don't think that is what he is doing.

They apparently thought they could control it still, and it didn't happen.
