Well that is all counter-intuitive to me. So how would these symbolic priests and symbolic sacrifices fit in with that?
And what about the covenant with the Levites?
(CLV) Jer 33:20
Thus says Yahweh: If you could annul My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night so that daytime and night fail to come about in their proper time,
(CLV) Jer 33:21
then also My covenant could be annulled with David My servant, so that he should not come to have a son reigning on his throne, and that with the Levites, the priests, My ministers.
Is it symbolically a promise to the Levites; or has the promise ended because there is no day and night? I don't know if this sounds as weird to you as it does to me; but it's a serious question.
What about the nations coming for Sukkot?
(CLV) Zch 14:19
This shall be the sin of Egypt, and the sin of all the nations which will not go up to celebrate the festival of booths.
How does all this fit together in your understanding?
I might have to walk away from this thread. It seems that I need to reach an understanding of whether or not there will be an earthly kingdom, before I even get to the question in the title.
Millenial sacrifices will simply be symbolic.
Will there be sacrifices in the new Temple?
When the Lord’s righteous people go to live in all of the Holy Land, soon after it is cleared and cleansed by the Lord’s Day of fiery wrath, Ezekiel 34:11-31, they will build a new Temple in Jerusalem, according to the details given in Ezekiel 40-46
Many Old Testament prophesies attest to this, how it will be built by men from far away, Zechariah 6:15, and it will be greater than the former ones. Haggai 2:9
The New Testament too, makes it clear there will be a Temple, 2 Thess. 2:4, Rev. 11:1-2, that will exist until the end of the Millennium, when God Himself will be the Temple. Revelation 21:22
We are told that during this age of Church dispensation, Christ is our high priest and we are the spiritual Temple, 2 Cor. 6:16 and no sacrifices are required. Hosea 9:4
Hebrews 9 & 10:1-21 are the scriptures that clearly tell us that Jesus made the once and forever sacrifice for the expiation of our sins. Now there is no Temple and Christians are His ‘body’ on earth. This is just for the time from the early church until the new Temple is built, when there will again be offerings and thanksgiving gifts made by the Lord’s holy people. Isaiah 56:1-8, Daniel 12:1, Revelation 7:9-14
Daniel 7:25 and Daniel 9:26-27 tells us how, in the last days, an invading leader will make a peace treaty with the holy people, but will break it and put a stop to the sacrifices and offerings. Obviously there will be sacrifices and offerings taking place, for him to stop them.
This is confirmed by the prophesies detailing how it will be during the period the righteous people of God will be living the Land before the Return of Jesus:
Psalm 51:18-19 Now Lord, show Your favor to Zion and rebuild Jerusalem. Then You will delight in the appointed sacrifices, young bulls will be offered in Your altar.
Jeremiah 17:24-26 Now, if you obey the Lord’s Commandments, then a ruler will again occupy David’s throne and Jerusalem will be inhabited forever. Then people will come bringing whole offerings, sacrifices as thank offerings to the Lord’s House.
Jeremiah 33:14-18 The days are coming when I shall bless Judah and Israel…….there will always be a Levitical Priest to burn the grain and other offerings every day.
Ezekiel 45:13-25 The details of and the dates for making all the sacrifices and offerings on the Altar of the Temple.
Zechariah 14:21…all who come to make sacrifice will use the holy pots in Jerusalem to boil the flesh of the sacrifice……
Isaiah 60:6-7 Livestock in droves will be in the Land to serve your needs, as acceptable offerings on My Altar and I will adorn My glorious Temple.
The context of these scriptures proves that all this will be for the last days’ period before the Return of Jesus. What will happen during the Millennium isn’t told to us, although there will be priest’s then. Revelation 20:6
But we know there will be no Temple in Eternity. Revelation 21:22

There is only 1 first resurrection. That was Christ's.
I think most christian premillenialists that I know of don't look the reinstitution of jewish sacrifice as blasphemy, most view it as a symbolic action. After all Jesus himself will be on the throne of david as prophecied. I don't think they will go into the temple where Jesus is and try to sacrifice another atonement offering. There is only one atonement now, it's Christ's blood. Rather God is keeping his promise that the temple will be rebuilt and fully functional, and that involves the sacrifices. But just as you can burn incense and it can be a sweet smelling aroma, so too sacrifice is a pleasing thing to God. Especially when done by His people, and in a manner prescribed in the Bible.
Ezekiel's sacrifices are not symbolic. They are not memorials.
They are expiatory.
Jeremiah 30:21 and Hosea 1:11 both say how the Lords holy people; every faithful Christian, by then living in all of the holy land, will elect their own leader.According to the Ezekiel temple prophecies there will be a prince in Israel during this. Who do you propose the prince of Israel is going to be? Whoever it is, not only does he prepare sin sacrifices for others, he also prepares sin sacrifices for himself. Some have actually proposed that Christ is the prince in Israel that is meant.
Guesswork and bald opinion, does not cut it.That is talking about the dead in Christ reigning with Christ during the intra-Advent period.
Jeremiah 30:21 and Hosea 1:11 both say how the Lords holy people; every faithful Christian, by then living in all of the holy land, will elect their own leader.
All of Ezekiel 40 to 48 is prophecy about the time before Jesus Returns.
Guesswork and bald opinion, does not cut it.
The dead in Christ are not raised until after the Millennium. You contradict Revelation 20:11-15, in thinking any of the dead, other than the trib martyrs, Revelation 20:4, will be raised before the GWT Judgment.
What is serious error, is to ignore plain scriptures like Isaiah 56:1-8 and Ezekiel 20:40-41, +, that say how the people of God, as they live in the holy Land, WILL once again make offerings and sacrifices in the new Temple. This is an important point jgr makes. The sacrificial system is, by definition, expiatory. Those Premils who suggest ‘memorial’ sacrifices find themselves with a dilemma, even when trying to be reasonable.
The simple fact remains, that any kind of return to animal sacrifice contradicts Christs final sacrifice, and is an insult to the Holy Spirit. It is a serious blasphemy!

None of us knows the Mind of God, we cannot make categorical statements like; 'its an insult to the holy Spirit'. Was the holy Spirit insulted in ancient times, by the sacrifices then?
Another load of opinionated rot!Exactly! It began at the one-and-only first resurrection (Christ's). When Christ conquered sin, death and Hades, the elect were raised in spirit to reign with Him. Anything after that would be the second resurrection, that occurs at the second coming.
Yes. We already have our memorial. It’s called the ‘Eucharist’ or the ‘Lord’s Supper.’ Animal sacrifice is old covenant and no amount of Ezekiel quoting is going to change that.Absolutely! Where does Ezekiel 40-48 remotely intimate that these are memorial sacrifices? This is a classic case of Premils forcing something into the sacred text that does not exist. They do that repeatedly with their supposed future thousand years. It is unknown throughout the Scriptures apart from the symbolic representation of it in the highly figurative Revelation 20, 3 chapters before the end of the Bible.
Another load of opinionated rot!
The Bible never says there will be a general resurrection when Jesus Returns. Only the trib martyrs and that do not receive immortality then. Revelation 20:4-6

Thank you. This thread needs more logic.
