With all that's been going on I haven't been paying much attention to looking to the skies and seeing news other than the virus news but after attending a few Seders last night and listening to some broadcasts things are starting to come together and I thought I'd share.
Did you know?
Super Moons - three back to back, March, April and May
For Purim this year there was a Super moon? Between the first day and second day of Purim
This is the first of the year 2020 between March 9th and 10th
For Passover (today!) there is a Super moon?(got to see it last night and it was very bright!) This one is supposed to be the biggest of the three.
The next Super Moon will be on May 7th -21 days (or 3 weeks) before Shavuot (Pentecost)
This in contrast to the periods of Blood moons (Dark) leading up to this time in the past few years.
EQUINOX 2020
This year the Spring Equinox is the earliest it's been in over a hundred years, 124 to be exact. March 19/20th.
Interestingly because of the Corona virus annual equinox rituals and celebrations around the world, like Stonehenge in England and Chichen Itza in Mexico were cancelled.
Magnetic NORTH - It used to circle around Northern Canada for hundreds of years but now it's on a straight trajectory towards Siberia and accelerating. The rate at which it is doing so is unprecedented. Just in the past few months it has passed over the Greenwich Meridian. ( a Graphic of the movement and speed can be found here)
Locusts -

A SUPER MOON is 14% larger and 30% brighter than a 'regular' moon

Locusts -
- Coronavirus-linked flight restrictions are hampering efforts to wipe out locust swarms on the verge of devastating crops in East Africa.
- Locust numbers exploded late last year, encouraged by unusual weather patterns amplified by climate change, and swarms disbursed eastwards from Yemen, with Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia the hardest-hit countries.
- Worst outbreak in generations in Ethiopia named by WP reporter.
- Locusts are cold blooded and get their energy to fly from the sun.
