I've heard the handshake came out of history from men making a blood covenant or to be a blood brother. In Gal 2:9 Paul states that he received the right hand of fellowship from certain believers and scripture states Jesus is seated at the right hand of God.

Actually I am quite surprised to see how many, many times the scriptures speaks of the right hand. Quite interesting. (See link)

Ive used that as well. It does seem to be safer than a handshake.

I don't think it is. I just rested my chin on my fist and part of my hand touched my lips. Fist bumps, elbow bumps any physical contact of any kind, won't do what Dr. Fauci seems to want to do. Make us permanently paranoid.

I was a little slow to accept the Hand Bump Thing that the younger crowd at our Church started doing many years back. In time I kinda got it down and have been using it occasionally.

Looks like now it may be popular for a long time into the future?

Or the now famous old CV knee bump?
From a safe distance.
Long legs work best.

Instructions for proper use of Knee Bump.
Lean way back as if doing the Limbo.
Lift one leg while extending knee.
Bump knee with other while keeping head
at a safe 6 ft distance from the others head.

Caution
Old guys have been known to fall down.
Best shake others with cane.
Gentle shake or stroke -- no hitting.

M-Bob

Oh I've got my cane, formidable weapon if people think to be disrespectful... hahaha

I stopped shaking hands with people years ago, because I got tired of catching people's colds. And I haven't caught a cold since.

Agreed. Outside of a few friends or professional peers, such as my fellow soldiers in training or deployment, I routinely avoided handshakes.

Fauci on US after coronavirus: No shaking hands ‘ever again’

Americans would be smart to carry some lessons with them into the future after the nation’s coronavirus crisis is over, according to Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“One of them is absolute compulsive hand-washing,” Fauci, a member of President Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force, said Wednesday during a Wall Street Journal podcast.

“The other,” he added, “is you don't ever shake anybody's hands. I don't think we should ever shake hands ever again, to be honest with you.”

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

From the same story but, relating to Trump.
Over the years, Trump has made numerous references to his disapproval of handshaking, calling the practice “barbaric,” “disgusting,” “very, very terrible,” and “one of the curses of American society,” Politico reported in March.
I would be fine adopting a bow but for many parts of the world their greetings are so much a part of who they are (using other methods than just handshaking) where the West we look at these things as more abstract (although people claim to know a lot about someone through a handshake)

What might happen in the West is a group will start advocating a contact free method for greeting like a bow and when you hold out your hand they will not shake it but say they will greet you with a bow instead. It will feel weird and a little creepy at first but if repeated enough it will embed itself into culture and everyone will accept it... well everyone but the church, they will probably call it evil and find verses claiming handshaking is the Christian way.

Reminds me of how Jesus and his disciples would not wash their hands.

Didn't take into account the not hugging part of it?
Now that would be Greatly Missed !
CV is for sure a possible game changer?

Good grief, don't live in fear, we're all going to die from something, might as well show love to each other while we're here.

I've always been personally sort of standoffish. Not shaking hands is fine with me. Apart from my wife I never hug unless the other person initiates it. Including my kids. If you want to stay healthy avoid people. I socialize and have many friends but avoid personal contact--and seldom get the sniffles.

I like the idea - I shake hands as a formality with people in a professional setting. I’m not giving up hugging my friends, but if it means I get sick less, yes I’m happy to stop shaking hands. It’s not something thst I got any personal benefit from.

You're using snopes to disprove something that is part of the liberal agenda? Way to go.

Have you not been seeing all of the reports coming out lately about how Bill Gates' foundation has been developing an electronic method to track people who have been vaccinated? Now, I am not saying this will actually come to fruition any time soon, if at all, as there are plenty of people in this country who would actively oppose such a program (at varying degrees of aggressiveness), but it is certainly something they have considered are at different levels of trying to get their agenda pushed onto the populous.

People will accept it, all they have do is make people cower in absolute fear and the lemmings will accept anything. We are all lemmings now we all cower in fear.
