The phenomenon of becoming "one flesh" is eros. It is an exclusive relationship.

Can you give scriptural support for this assertion?
If we are called to be at all times 'in the Spirit' then this aspect of marriage is surely to be Agape - Eros is self centred.

Eros is just a degree of intimacy meant to be exclusive to one person (until death).
Genesis 2:24, good.
1 Corinthians 6:16, bad.
Within agape, eros toward one's spouse is redeemed.

"One flesh" in both of the previous verses is a Hebrew concept. It wouldn't be stated in Greek terms.

There is no mention of Eros in the Greek text of the OT that was referenced in Jesus day.

What is the difference between love & sex-?
while I was a teenager, the term “sex” was not a term spoken among my circles. I grew up believing intercourse was for the procreation of children. I still believe this, only--------
At the same time, I had a few girlfriends. We held hands, kissed each other from time to time and continued a great relationship; but I never considered this “sex”.
I eventually married and now I am a grandfather several time over.

I love many people, especially my family: wife, son, daughter, grandchildren. I love my neighbor, but in a different way (agape vs philios).
I have sex with my wife only.
