New Research Links Air Pollution to Higher Coronavirus Death Rates
New Research Links Air Pollution to Higher Coronavirus Death Rates
In an analysis of 3,080 U.S. counties, researchers at the Harvard University T.H. Chan School of Public Health found that higher levels of the tiny, dangerous particles in air known as PM 2.5 were associated with higher death rates from the disease.
For weeks, public health officials have surmised a link between dirty air and death or serious illness from COVID-19, which is caused by the coronavirus. The Harvard analysis is the first nationwide study to show a statistical link, revealing a “large overlap” between COVID-19 deaths and other diseases associated with long-term exposure to fine particulate matter.
“The results of this paper suggest that long-term exposure to air pollution increases vulnerability to experiencing the most severe COVID-19 outcomes,” the authors wrote.
Covid19 appears to kill people by affecting their lungs. It is not clear if it is pneumonia or more akin to altitude sickness where the body is not able to absorb oxygen. This air pollution resulting in a higher death rate is evidence that this is the key issue. The legitimate concern about 5G is that it might make it harder for the lungs to absorb oxygen. That is what needs to be studied. This article talks about a link between long-term exposure to particulate air pollution and COVID-19 death rates.
It has nothing to do with 5G.

Oh, you obviously didn't read my post. You know that scientific finding is reliable if it is replicable by an independent third party. That is what I am asking for and it is also what is lacking in almost all corporate sponsored and published research. The Simpson's paradox is just one way they can manipulate legitimate data to give a distorted conclusion.I’ll stick with the reliable sources. But thanks anyway.
5g, a form of radiation that is far greater than background radiation that we have lived with for a hundred thousand years, and which causes oxygen molecules to become excited and there is some evidence that it damages DNA, even causing cancer in mice.
So now we have two straw men arguments, 5G caused Coronavirus (pretty absurd though I suppose the random mutation of DNA in a virus could have caused it and who is to say what caused that) and 5G transmits it. Neither of these are genuine concerns. Simply a distraction which will cause those who hear it to dismiss all concerns about 5G as paranoid conspiracy theories.
Once again, what is the concern. It is powerful radiation. If you have a 5G phone you hold this radiation next to your brain. If your computer or car use it you are surrounded by this all the time. As you walk down the street in a city you are bombarded with this radiation. Now the human body and DNA in particular is designed to handle low levels of radiation. The question is if these significantly higher levels are harmful.
Second concern, it is extremely easy for large corporations with billions to spend on advertising and marketing to pay for research and manipulate the results. We have seen this again, and again, and again by corporations hiding things that contain significant liability to them. Just look at the NFL and CTE, or Dupont and Teflon, or cigarette manufacturers, or the Catholic church and abuse by priests, etc. The only way to combat this is to demand that any published research they provide be replicable by independent third parties. That is supposed to be how science works.
Actually I have quoted and referenced a Scientific American article when asked for peer reviewed research because this article reference peer reviewed research. I was simply responding to a poster. Can I respectfully suggest you take a deep breath, decide which conspiracy theory you wish to go with and then start your own thread?

Indeed. Watched my sister fall into this stuff. It’s evil.Icke is known for unreal, wacky, idiotic theories and is completely off his head.
I do not think Christians should entertain this rubbish. But that’s just me I guess.I don't think people understand how this forum works
I find conspiracy theories just as odd and funny as those who are puritanical toward them.I do not think Christians should entertain this rubbish. But that’s just me I guess.

Social media blocking out the so called "fake news" is contrary to freedom of speech. That in itself is very dangerous. Some, perhaps most, conspiracy theories are harmless. Some, like the stuff floating around about the virus, are dangerous since they can undermine the truth about a problem and result in people acting against their own best interests. Consequences can include social division and loss of confidence in legitimate media, government and science. Sometimes consequences include death.
The rise of conspiracy theories and the, often intentional, manufacturing of fake information, is a recognised and serious problem. This is why social media platforms are attempting to block out the most obvious 'fake news'.
I agree that conspiracy theories can be odd and funny, but there are times when we need to be a little puritanical about the truth.

Conspiracy theories don't arise from someone eating a large pizza with anchovies just before bed and dreaming it all up.I find conspiracy theories just as odd and funny as those who are puritanical toward them.
