Make no mistake about it, it looks like a virus but God closes churches. They have drifted and He said He would like to vomit them out of his mouth in the book of Revelation. The catholic church is no exception, don't let church pride be your guide in this, God has us down to one on one face to face with Jesus Christ. A huge spiritual knife is splitting those away who aren't truly His in this time. Right here right now He (I believe) is calling for our direct adoration, each and every individual who will. especially now in Holy week ! Can't you feel Him drawing ? If you are for Jesus Christ totally unmasked from riggings of churches or intercessory saints but for him directly, now is the time like no time before to tell Him. That's my take from a spiritual perspective, physically what it all looks like set aside. I'm telling you and I've been saying it for weeks now that we are forced to be one on one with Jesus Christ. Right now you don't have a church to lean on and it's always been about Him even when you did. Amen

I do have to wonder whether or not we are getting even closer to the last days. I mean, I know we have had pandemics in the past that were even worse than this but has society ever completely shut down because of a pandemic? I honestly don't know.

What we are seeing in this is the instability of the ways of the world. This should simply point us to look to Jesus Christ. As to getting closer, of course we are, each day that goes by is another day closer lol !!

But there seems to be something more to this so called pandemic, we can all feel it. I personally feel there is a second wave coming too, not sure what that will look like but it's related to this first event.

I don't really know Stabat, I don't know if it's spiritual ramifications, more pandemic or aftermath in the mess made by the one. Any or all of that is possible I suppose. But hey, God sits on His throne, so we set our eyes there. I can't help but feel no matter what we are to set our sight on Jesus Christ. Right now this minute Psalm 91 comes to mind, a beautiful word for our troubled times.

We all have to pass death in our journey towards life. It may as well happen now as tomorrow. God in his infinite mercy and wisdom created the world. He upholds and he will bring it to its end.

Philippians 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ; and to die is gain.

May the Lord bless me with the spirit of St. Paul so that I can share this attitude towards my temporal and mortal body. May I reject the world and rejoice in my savior.

Yes, I know we are getting closer to the Second Coming of Christ every day but what I mean is that I wonder just how much closer we are. It almost seems like it could happen during our lifetime, especially if things keep happening like this.

I wrote two paragraphs in response lol. Decided to wipe that out. God bless you on this Easter Sunday ! James 4:8 comes to mind, that's what I'm doing in this time.

I half like your post. There is a drawing closer for some, and a walking away for others. The closures will allow those who are Christian in name only to drop the facade. That's the spiritual knife, they cut themselves off and they are cut off.

The part I didn't like was the part that looked like Jesus-and-me-ism. We don't do that here. We may be physically cut off but as members of the Communion of the Saints we are still together, interceding, with our priests offering liturgies for us and the whole world, hearing confessions, anointing the sick. The faith goes on, physically distant but spiritually with the faithful together in heart and mind.

I understand. But Chevy, hopefully we are just in a season of this.
