Is COVID created by God? America was meant to get it?

Usually I'd say God doesn't purposely create such things. But then again I am reminded the bible does say God will judge countries and bring His "wrath" upon them. And as we know America is far from what it used to be. So I am conflicted on how to feel about COVID. Way before COVID was a thing I always believed America would answer for the path its taken and would fall like Rome. Granted COVID isn't going to make America fall.

COVID is just another of the thousands of strains of the common flu. Way more people die every year from that than the world's total of COVID deaths so far. That is not to make light of the people who are dying, but my point is, don't fall for the media hype.
I suspect: 1.) it is an election year, something crazy always happens in an election year. 2.) It is likely a distraction for some other shady business being done in the background, possibly related to the election. Let's watch and see... Live smart, but don't let the fear control you. Trust in God.

There is something theologically wrong with this idea that every little disaster or problem is the "wrath of God." It reminds me of how Martin Luther was, who thought God was punishing him every time a lighting storm came around. So many people are afflicted by over-guilty consciences because they have not known the love of God or how He will one day judge the world, according to that love. It doesn't mean everyone will be saved in the end, but God's not angry with us. His love for us is boundless, but our "punishment" and our Hell will be our own rejection of His loving, eternal presence.

If any judgment of God were to come upon us, it is not likely to be something like a flu virus, a flood, a tornado, etc. He doesn't play games to keep us guessing.

I am back on my old band wagon. I do believe that God is using the coronavirus as a judgment. It did not sit well with me that the virus, was "purely natural", it may have had a natural source, but I have kept seeking God for answers, because I did not want to be swayed by popular opinion, and I did not want to condemn any who spoke the truth, for there is one major ministry who says this is "God's Judgement", and to go from agreeing with them, to disagreeing, I just had to be careful that I was not bending to popular opinion. After further prayer seeking clarification, I would have to say I do feel God has allowed this virus as a judgement against sin.

Sorry, I can't agree with the part saying Covid 19 is just like a flu strain, as there isn't a cure for Covid unlike the flu, thus making it exceptionally deadly. Even the pandemic is over probably countries and communities have to strengthen precaution measures (better coordination and reserving protection gear like masks or protection clothing), since we'll never know if there's another pandemic happening again in the near future. I can't see why people are trivialising the pandemic as the most important part is, there isn't a cure yet which helps curbing it, also rarely does a flu season have such profound impact in all aspects worldwide.

Just look at Spain and Italy, their medical system is much underdeveloped compared with other larger European countries such as Germany. even the one in the UK is quite in a mess nowadays.

Yet I totally agree on people being over-sensitive on "God's Wrath" part saying every mishaps, from losing car keys to global pandemics are God's punishment.(which most of the things are in fact just human mistakes which usually can be avoidable) Just like in the case of MERS in South Korea, which their lax precautions and measures costed many lives and was the epicentre outside of the Middle East. Despite the horrifying numbers the South Korean governments have done vigorous measures on the outbreak and the curve has been flattened. (also for East Asian countries and regions which have experienced SARS years ago) Blaming everything as God's acts isn't only a lazy excuse evading responsibilities, but also creates even more fear, disinformation and paranoia, the most important part is undermining the loving side of God

If you are flip flopping on whether or not God is intentionally killing tens to hundreds of thousands of the more vulnerable people on the planet, then perhaps the answer is already clear.

why, whenever there is talk of end times judgement is the US always singled out for judgement? how is the US worse than any other country in the world? there are countries with very oppressive governments out there, so why would US be target of God's wrath instead?

You've asked a very good question! The answer is that America, from the beginning, was consecrated to God.
In the same way, Israel was also consecrated to God, as were the Jews.
And yet, both have suffered from the beginning.
Why? America was the first country of the United Nations to recognize the modern State of Israel when it was created. America has come to help Israel many times.

Now, Stop and remember for a moment who it is that was always against what God wanted.
Satan.
And he has never stopped his rebellion against God and the people that God loves.
He has never stopped.

To this day he works against God and the people who love God.
And he convinces people who have their own agendas to work against the people whom God loves.
This has happened from the beginning of time.

The only reason that it seems to come now more quickly, spread further, and kill more people,
is the publicity that it is given in the news media.

In this day news spreads quickly around the World.
Information that used to take days to reach the general public
now takes mere hours,
And bad news, like little foxes who run through the vineyards with their tails alight,
are destroying the good vineyards, and spreading the disease more quickly yet.
Publicity for satan.

But through all of this God is still in charge over all the world.
If it were not so, we would truly be in a mess.

What is needed to turn things around is a clear vision,
decisive action, and freedom for God's shepherds to welcome and tend to their flocks
instead of locking church doors;
thus leaving the sheep to the mercy of the ravenous wolves.

So to sum up, Coved was created by men and is being used by satan to destroy

No, the answer is simply because a ton of Americans hold to a very American-centric worldview (and are usually quite blind to it).

No, Israel was God's chosen nation. He did not choose any others. but i do agree with you, US has always supported Israel, so may be spiritual attack.

I am from Britain though and our present prime minister (who is part Ashkenazi Jewish, as am i myself, incidentally) also supports Israel and we were a christian nation too. so does that mean WE in the UK are going to be the target next???

Don't be too upset. Every nation will be judged fairly by God. Corona originated in China, where the church has been suffering much increased persecution under Xi. God's judgement has already been visited on Britain. It's no longer "Great". I was born there so I know something of the history.

God's blessing depends on the righteousness of a nation. The USA has thrown God out of schools and courts, and embraced immorality on a grand scale. Worse, anyone who dares speak out against the illiberal left is attacked, sometimes physically. It's not only the USA, of course.

see, this makes me upset because God isn't cruel. so i dont think covid is God's judgement at all. if so, no christians will have died from it anf some have. those who believe covid is God's judgement, how do you explain Christians getting sick and dying from it?? Christians are not meant to receive God's wrath. so am very sceptical about these claims.

Exactly. For those who try to make it into judgement it isn't really about God and His judgement, it's about them and their judgement.
