Ok. Question: in the Bible Jesus speaks in parables; what general statement does Evolution make?

A good teacher doesn't contradict themselves. And a good teacher keeps a consistent message that they are delivering. I don't think you've done either.

You can't say I didn't try. :)

Okay, you tried.

But your message was confused and inconsistent.

Perhaps you could try again?

Why beat a dead horse. Perhaps we'll meet on a different thread.

If you thought your point was important, I'd have figured you'd do your best to make sure it was understood...

I will leave you with this admonition by Paul to the church at Ephesus. This encapsulates the old and the new covenants, and the antithesis between the two.

"Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth."

There's a big difference between not stealing and putting in good honest work.

I don't see how you think this supports your claims.

OWG is no doubt a good man and a credit to society, but you are never going to get anything coherent out of him beyond "If everybody would just be more like me we wouldn't have so many problems."

I'm glad that you understand that statement. I consider that progress. :D

We should probably take a hint from his avatar and let sleeping dogs lie.

There's something much bigger going on with God. The salvation of humankind is only part of his plan. The plan involves a process, which means that things will not be done all at once.

I think the thing is, God did not start to "Create" shy of the mark.

There was an opportunity and God took it.

End of story.

Is there something that you believe as an Evolutionist, that you would not share with just anyone?
I'm not an evolutionist.

But if I was, I would say cosmic evolution is something my cohorts tend to keep under wraps for some reason.

And if I wasn't saved, I would be mortified that my cohorts would arc and spark about the term "atheistic evolution."

In fact, I'd be proud of the term.

So those are the two things I'd get on my cohorts about:
  1. What's the deal with cosmic evolution?
  2. What's your beef with the term "atheistic evolution"?

I'm not an evolutionist.

Obviously, in both senses (as an alternative term for "evolutionary biologist" and as someone who recognizes evolution as the path for the origin of diverse life on Earth).

But if I was, I would say cosmic evolution is something my cohorts tend to keep under wraps for some reason.

"Cosmic evolution" is either (and I can't quite tell) a vague term for cosmology (in which case you would in this bizarre hypothetical use proper terms from cosmology) or a vague notion about the continuity of natural processes connecting all of the sciences that are needed to explain the origin of humanity. This later notion is fine for general science programs like "Cosmos" or "Nova", but is not in itself a field of study.

And if I wasn't saved, I would be mortified that my cohorts would arc and spark about the term "atheistic evolution."

In fact, I'd be proud of the term.

Why? It's a misnomer. Evolution isn't "atheist" and it never has been. (It is secular. Like all sciences it takes no position on the existence of god(s) though it does not use one as an explanation.)

So those are the two things I'd get on my cohorts about:
  1. What's the deal with cosmic evolution?
  2. What's your beef with the term "atheistic evolution"?

These sound like the obsessions of the *actual* you projected onto a version of yourself that doesn't exist.

More like it's redundant.

Like saying "wet water" or "true facts" or "past history."

Do you say: "atheistic plumbing" or "atheistic supply chain management"? I doubt it. Neither of those things (and so many others) are built around a religious position or god. It doesn't matter whether your plumber is a Christian, a Sikh, or an Atheist, plumbing still works the same way. Plumbing is neutral about gods or religions.

Science is a secular pursuit, just like plumbing. It does not require a god or the rejection of gods or any opinion about them at all.

(Not all water is "wet" only liquid water. Then there are "alternative facts" and "future history".)
