It's entirely feasible for humans to have continuous contact (via animals) with a version of the virus which is harmless to humans. However virus' mutate. As a result, a new and harmful form of the virus may have only come into existence recently.

I'm not sure what your point is. This patent is for an attenuated version with potential use in a vaccine.

That hardly precludes the possibility that the infection originated in a lab. Natural things can be found in labs.

Or unicorns, I mean, there's absolutely no evidence it came from the lab, and the same amount of evidence it came from unicorns, so we can't preclude that either. Or the moon, lets include that too.

Evidence is not 'mounting'.

This talk by Australian shockjock Andrew Bolt is based on exactly the same material used in the Nation Review article in the OP. The video blog you posted in post #9 is also based on exactly the same material as that on the OP and Bolt's diatribe. In fact your contribution, the video blog, is probably the original source of the material.

Both the Nation Review article and Bolt emphasise that there is no proof that the virus was released from the lab. Bolt is fairly carefully to emphasis that it could have originated in the lab or somewhere else.

It could have been any one of a number of things, including accidental contact, by a Wuhan local, with an infected animal or through some intermediary source. We know it wasn't manufactured.

Why,when there is no evidence, does it have to be the one thing you so desperately want it to be?

Throughout the video the term "could have" is used repeatedly. It's even in the video headline. The video also confirms the absence of any evidence.

Given the number of other conspiracy theories floating around about this virus, including 'it was caused by 5G' and' it's part of a NATO plot', it makes no sense to assume any specific cause without supporting evidence.
