I have isolated myself big time. I feel guilty because to be perfectly honest I am enjoying my isolation. I am watching lots of movies and sleeping a lot. But I am also on social media a lot as well. But I feel guilty for enjoying it. So many family and people are dying. I live in Washington state, and we have had 95 deaths.

I don't know what I could do to help them. I am afraid to leave my apartment. I won't be going to school next quarter. I am waiting for Fall.

Instead of feeling guilty about enjoying the isolation, feel grateful for it. This is a silver lining for you. A way that God is tending to your specific needs and desires. You have compassion and empathy for others who are struggling and suffering during this pandemic, and feeling the blessings in your own life doesn't lessen your care for others.

I do think it's important to still connect with others, but you can do so while maintaining physical distancing protocols. We've been encouraged to use that term - physical distancing rather than social distancing, because the words we use influences our attitude and outlook. So I'm glad you're still on social media.

Can you take classes via Zoom? That's what my school is doing. We were the first university in the US to cancel in-person classes, back in early March, so it's now been weeks since I've been in an actual classroom. Our campus will remain evacuated for the spring quarter, with all classes online. I went to HS online for a while to have more time for dance, so there wasn't much of a learning curve for me to acclimate this time. Most people have adapted to the setting well, though for some it's really challenging because they don't have a steady Wifi signal or a calm home environment. I'm really fortunate to have both so I don't have any impediments. There's perks to classes online though I definitely am missing being at school.

I have two little sisters, one is an extrovert who feels like she's ready to implode from having to be at home so much. My baby sister is an introvert who, like you, is more at peace being at home. She's gotten really into baking and gardening.

Yes, I think I can check that out. I will check to see if I can do classes through zoom. I have a very good internet service, so that won't be a problem. I am pretty much done for the quarter.

And thank you very much. You are right. I do need to just count my blessings.

My son's college is doing their second semester over the internet.

I am going to look at doing college online as well. I hope things are going well with you and your son.

Same for me, all colleges or schools of any kind were closed on early March, the whole country is totally isolated, I've not left the house for 2 weeks now and this is going to be so much longer. And same as you, I do enjoy my isolation. But actually, I WANT to enjoy it. We all have our own burden to carry, and this is already so much for each one of us: being alone, not seeing your friends, coming back to home when you learned to live on your own, this is not easy. Being alone or with others people all day, and that for 1 or 2 months, this is not easy.
So I am convinced that making our best to live it gladly is a duty. Not only a duty to ourselves, but to any member of your family, or even any sick person. Each one of the sicks need our joy, what we have to offer to them. They need our smiles, our ideas, and I even think that being miserables on ourselves when they are going through much worse is both inappropriate & even shameful.
The world needs joy & people enjoying themselves, let's not refuse to give it. & let's not feel guilty for it, certainly not.

I've seen a lot of comments on social media about "the rise of the introvert". ^_^ I think it's okay to enjoy some downtime and time alone to concentrate on things you enjoy. Not everyone loves to socialise all the time, so be grateful you can cope well.

As for school, I'm not sure where you go but my graduate courses have been switched to online learning so we are doing everything over the internet. It's quite easy if you've had some experience working or studying online, but many universities are offering help to get you started. You can also look into free or low-cost online schools. Places like Coursera and Allison offer many classes in a variety of subjects, and some are free or very cheap. Most are university level taught by professors who are well-qualified, and if you pay the small fee you can get a certificate or even in some cases a degree.

If I may ask, have your own family been unaffected by COVID-19 so far? The deaths are very sad.

Are there any family, relatives or friends you could interact with or keep contact with?

I'm waiting for Fall too, assuming that the pandemic ends and in-person classes at my university will resume in the first place...

Even if there is nothing else we could do I believe we could always pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for other people.

For me while I don't wish for any more COVID-19 cases or deaths and would never have wished for a pandemic, to some level it is making me consider my priorities in life.

No, we haven't been exposed as far as we know. I am not sure. I just am not willing to risk it.

Sorry I did not respond. I did not see your post. We are switching online as well. But I need the one on one attention. I have a hard time processing information. So, an online schoool won't work for me.

I wish we had a delivery service here, but we don't. So, I still have to go shopping.
