2 Co 5:17. Therefore if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Only in submission to the Holy Spirit can divisions be avoided.

Man made rules are described by Paul as “the law of commandments in ordinances” or dogma.
Ephesians 2:14 & 15. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,having abolished in His flesh the enmity, the law of commandments in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man. .
The peace of Messiah is found in the unity of the Spirit.
Ephesians 4:1-3. I beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
We overcome divisions by focusing on what we have in common.
Philippians 3:15 & 16. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.
