I watched a presentation by a medical professional.. She said don't waste a mask if you're not infected. It does nothing.

I just want to say thank you very much for posting that video. You were just trying to help.

Sometimes the truth can be scary.

I was hoping for a little comfort but some people told me things that peaked my anxiety. But that doesn't mean that they're not telling me the truth.

I am terrified of this virus. And I am praying and hoping that I never get exposed. But people could be right and saying that I will be exposed. I have already some health issues. So, if I get exposed this virus will kill me. So when I hear people tell me that I will be exposed, I hear them saying that I am going to die. And that terrifies me

Then be the example. Does not bother me at all. I know in whom I believe in. He does in fact cover me protect me. Let the LIGHT in you shine.. show them Christ. So much of this is based on fear which is not of God. So if its something that your very concerned about then.. yeah put a cart behind you or the like. Or check out somewhere else :)

Pray about it.. before you go..before you leave. In love.. and watch your Father work. Faith!

Exactly.
"Don't watch Fox News" and "stay away from Fox News viewers in public" seems to be excellent advice if you want to employ every possible tool to minimize your risk of both acquiring and spreading COVID19 Infection.
Unless....... you want the truth.

I am. I just want people to be educated and leave PPE that is not doing anything for them.. for those that really need it and for whom it will be of benefit.

Just look at what the panic for toilet paper has done.. Some people won't need to buy any for a year or so... others can't get a roll or two that they need today.

I know this. I have watched these people too.

But even if it doesn't do anything for me, it will do something for someone else. Masks are designed to keep germs in, and not design to keep germs out. But I don't wear a mask, I wear a piece of clothe, which goes around my face, and my scarf. I feel safe doing that. So, I will continue. But I am not arguing with you because I am not a medical professional. So, I don't know enough to argue. But it still makes me feel safe. So, I am still going to do it.

However, I did buy a mask with plastic that goes over the whole entire face. But it won't be here until the end of May or early June. But I have decided until then, I will just buy food at the gas station at 6 in the morning. It is way more expensive and no one is never there. They even have a glass that separate us from the cashier. And I will continue to practice hand washing and not touching my face. And wearing my own mask keeps me from touching my face anyways.

So, the point is, I realize what they have said. I have done some research as well. But I am still going to do so, for the reasons I said. It just makes me feel safe.

My advice is to do what you feel comfortable with and don't let anyone dissuade you from wearing a mask or covering.
We have been told here not to wear masks ,we dont need to, but commonsense tells me thats a lie and we're being told that because there is a shortage for medical staff and I get they need them the most.
I am going to make my own to wear when I go shopping, I saw how to make one on YouTube that is made from a hanky or bandana with a removable filter in the centre (can be made from backing material, paper coffee or vacum filters etc) and it is very simple to make.
You don't even have to sew it ( I will hand sew mine though)
The filter gets thrown out and then you wash the mask ready for next time.
Its not a medical mask by any means but it will help.
Anything covering your face, scarf or whatever has to help, just make sure you wash it when you return home.:)

It is a virus, like the common cold. If you eat well, sleep well and get your exercise you will be in good shape if you get infected. If you wash your hands regularly and practice social distancing chances are very good that when you do get infected it will not be with a large dose but a mild dose, hence your body has a much better chance to fight it off. If you remove outer clothes when you come back from the store you again minimize the amount of virus you will be exposed to. If you get yourself tested then you will know if you have already been exposed and didn't know it. If you do get symptoms treat it seriously, know that it can take 2 weeks to truly recover, make sure you have plenty of fluids for those two weeks.

I do believe that this virus is more dangerous than normal. However, in today's world... keeping it from contacting everyone is impossible.

Should we take measures? Of course. But, lets be honest.... there are so many weak links in the chain necessary to stop the spread. From gas pumps, door handles, cans of soup, prescription bags, even our shoes on the ground we walk on. Have you dropped your keys on the floor of a store? Have you touched the pin pad of an ATM.. Did you get a letter in the mail?

I think that it was way too late by the time they took action and they have been playing catch up all along.

But, still play it safe and in the next while, this will run it's course.

The first inoculations were simply weakened forms of the virus. Obviously that is still more dangerous than a real inoculation, but we shouldn't let the best be the enemy of better.

For example, I am over 60 and was teaching in a public school in Brooklyn, with over 2,000 students who all use the subway and bus system, and teachers who live in New Rochelle and Nassau county, the two epicenters of the initial infection in NY. I knew I would be exposed, so I took steps to minimize the exposure. Washing hands multiple times in the day. Drinking plenty of fluid, going to the gym for as long as I felt well, treating the first hint of the flu very seriously, and using a sauna daily. I did get sick but it was a mild case. I believe the steps I took helped my body fight off the virus, especially in the early days from first exposure to the point I was clearly sick.

Obviously if an inoculation were available that would be the better option, but since it wasn't available there are still things you can do to minimize the amount of the virus that you get exposed to while maximizing your bodies ability to fight it off.

It has been 24 days since I first got sick. So I am now "innoculated" better than I would have been had I gotten a shot.

OK.....here's a couple of other thoughts I haven't seen mentioned. Observe as well that some grocery stores work harder to protect their clients more than others. A couple grocery stores in my region have a limit how many are allowed in the store at any one time. Not because the stores would be packed (in the early days of this that might have been the case but not so much now) but they have a line up outside to keep the numbers in the store fairly low for distancing. Also some stores have cleaning crews sterilizing things as much as possible more than others.

I've heard some say they're going to remember what stores took greater measures to protect their customers and when this is all over those stores will get their future business too. They said some stores are caring more for the well being of their customers as compared to others. One last thought. If you want everything going for you that you possible can pick your time going to the store maybe an hour right before closing time. I could cut back your chances of being with larger numbers of people.

Every time I go out with a cloth around my mouth and noise, people look at me weird. No one is doing that here in my town. But I am going to still do it. I just hate dreading going shopping because everyone looks at me funny.

Scared to get tested. But also scared to not get tested. It's one of those things.
