When did they become available? Did the CDC have to first approve Italy's test?

Do some research yourself...Germany had tests available in late January, and I believe WHO was shipping test the first week of February. so maybe a month or so before the US had them. Why would the US have a half million sent if they weren't sure they would work?

We dont have the all the details, so your assertion is not helpful. Maybe they did assure the tests from Italy. Do you even know? Why are you playing the blame game? It seems obvious that liberals like yourself are politicizing this crisis. We should be uniting for the common good.

Donald Trump spend 5 years as the face of the "Birther Movement" in an attempt to delegitimize the constitutional authority of America's first "black" President to hold office - he's going to learn the hard way that you reap what you have sowed!

He has mismanaged the federal governments response to this pandemic at every turn and there is no reason to assume that his abysmal track record will improve in the future, because this is a President who doesn't learn from his mistakes - he merely shifts the blame onto anybody and everybody but himself!

A President can't demand the nation's respect - he has to earn it!

No, liberals shift the blame to Trump every chance they get. We had setbacks in testing but that wasnt because of Trump.

Poor "need answers" you constantly make assertions about this and that without substance. "Maybe they did assure the tests from Italy, do you even know?" - So the alternative is that the administration received 500,000 tests without verifying their accuracy, what does that tell you? Criticism is not the "blame game" but rather a considered and reasoned assessment of the facts, without twisting and proceeding through mental gymnastic and contortions to change them to align with one's bias.

Again, you speculate that anyone who considers trump to be unfit for office, based on untwisted facts, is a "liberal". It seems obvious that right wing radicals/trumplicans will defend anything and everything that proceeds from trump's rhetoric and behavior!

Yes, we should be uniting...it would be worthwhile if we had a leader that wasn't so thin skinned and petty and divisive, wouldn't it?

We were previously developing our own test, thats why we didnt take tests from other countries. Its not like Trump refused help, it was a decision the CDC and FDA made. Its common practice for countries such as ours to make their own tests. There is nothing improper about that.

This President is responsible for the Executive Branch of government and the CDC and FDA are a part of his Administration - if they had rolled out the COVID-19 testing in record time we all know that "The Donald" would be all too willing to be standing on stage accepting all the accolades!

On the day that this nation experienced the highest number of infections and deaths to date, this President was able to find the time to settle personal political scores by terminating the Intelligence Inspector General - there has been no mention of administrators in the CDC or the FDA being fired!

It wasn't just that the roll out of the testing was flawed, Trump had stated repeatedly over a period of months that his Administration was on top of the situation and there was nothing to fear!

In short, Trump wants to "play" at being President and willing to take full advantage of all the perks and prestige associated with with the Office BUT he is not prepared to assume the responsibilities that come with it!

Trump has done a good job. We could be looking like Italy right now.
