Has Covid-19 changed/refined anyone's beliefs about how God heals today?

I had coronavirus back in January and was healed by the Lord in a time when I had turned away from God (I had before been a Christian all my life) and had been made to be completely blind to the fact that God even exists and I had no idea the kind of world or times we are living in. I have now come back to our Lord Jesus Christ and my eyes have been opened again. I am testimony that the Lord heals.

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Matthew 19:26

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matthew 17:20

Let me get this straight. You are saying that:
  1. In January, a doctor verified you had covid 19.
  2. Immediately you were healed from it, and the doctor verified that too.
And all that time during Jan, no one in the world was talking about this virus? And, my guess is, no one could verify what you are saying is true, other than "God as my witness"?

Please don't take my comment as being irreverent, but if God is involved in miraculous healing today - why does he primarily heal diseases that can have alternative explanations for their healing? We really don't see God miraculously healing amputees or people with genetic disorders (like Down's syndrome). Is it only a coincidence that these would be a lot harder to find alternative explanations for if they did happen supernaturally?

No one has answered your question, i wonder why.

Because the most likely answer makes people feel uncomfortable.

The era of signs and wonders in not over. I have had a small outreach going on Facebook for a few years where I offered healing prayer for people who wanted it. One Muslim man accepted prayer and was healed, he told me after prayer he regained strength to his body. To such a degree that he sough me out to know about faith in Jesus.

I also work as a computer programmer and have a long term client, whom I see more as a friend. While working on His website he brought up the fact that his daughter was very ill, she had developed Ulcerative Colitis, and had extreme pain and bleeding. He mentioned that doctors had told him it had no cure, and she would be on harsh medications to treat its symptoms for life. The father was saddened for his daughter, for he loved her. I having seen God heal in the past asked if he would mind if we could pray for her. He said he would appreciate it. So I set about to pray, to God for his daughter. That Sunday I also put a prayer request in the churches @SCFcentral prayer box. A month or so passed, and I received a work related call from the father. He ended the call by telling me, he did not know everything about God and healing, but his daughter was now well. So well that they were able to take the medications they were using right down. He thanked us for the prayer, and was confident that his daughter would stay well.

So you might ask where is all the faith, at this time. Well when the virus first came I began to pray in faith against it, fully believing God would end it. When I saw no signs of turn around, I thought back to a vision that I received before the virus was here in Australia, where I heard a voice declare out "invade them", with a curse, referencing the sin of pandering to homosexuality. This then made me think, God has sent this virus to judge the earth, he may not heal everybody at this time, He may be allowing it.

I am still seeking the LORD as to how to respond to the sickness, and if and when I should pray, i am truly conflicted in Spirit. I know at least that God's promise to His people is that of Psalm 91, a promise of shelter in the time of disease; so as for my self I truly believe God will keep me well, according to his promise.
I am glad I found this post from you too. I have had similar conflicts of faith as to what God was doing and how should one pray for a crisis. Several years ago I felt God tell me that my former town in Florida would be a direct hit for a hurricane. It did not seem to be negotiable, that to avert a more serious disaster such as an area with a much higher population, this town was chosen. Sort of like they were going to take one for the team. I wanted to pray it away, but it seemed like a done deal. Now others tried to pray and confess it away etc but it hit the town just as the Lord told me. As I hinted in a previous post, that the elderly are the most affected by this pandemic likely is because they too are the merciful choice, as well have possibly having to account for their generational sin. I think some of our answer on early death too might be found in the book of Job. Of course Job was restored. But what about Job's wife? Her life on earth was ended. Why? See what God tells you about that as I think it offers clues as to why some might die early. By all means keep believing Ps 91 and stay with the vision God has given you, as He will see it to fulfillment.

Feel free to prove me wrong, by pointing out any news link that recorded a miracle cure of covid 19.

I have discussed this with others a few times in this thread already, the difference between a sign during the 4 Gospels era, and the miracle healings that are claimed to have happened these days.

Has Covid-19 changed/refined anyone's beliefs about how God heals today?

Here is a story of man who Jesus healed.

Healings are the "will of the Father", always has been this way. The Word of Faith movement created a "deliverable God" and this is unholy.

God will clean His house in His own way and time.

Be blessed.

Like having a remote control directly hooked up above where the channel changes at our command.

Why does man think so highly of himself?

With Covid-19, we have seen how many churches, even megachurches who strongly believe that the signs and wonders of Jesus in the 4 Gospels are still present for us today, having to switch to online service broadcasts, and stopping their healing groups from going around praying for healing.

What happen to these churches who often teach us the following:
  1. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8
  2. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12
  3. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:17-18
We read about how churches, who still insist on gathering today and going against social distancing, some of them ended up being new clusters of covid-19, and even today, I read about Rodney Howard Browne being arrested by the police. Florida police arrest pastor Rodney Howard-Browne - CNN

Anyone has their views about how God heals today being modified by this real life incident?

For me, my view has been refined to this, covid-19 has shown that the era of healing as "signs and wonders" is truly over. If Jesus were to come to earth now, as he did during the 4 Gospels, he would have healed people with covid-19 who are brought to him, to show us a sign that he is God among us.

But now, in the present evil age , as Paul would say in Galatians 1:4, there are no more signs and wonders to expect, the body of Christ is groaning in our earthly bodies, waiting eagerly for the rapture and our bodies to be transformed into one just like Christ had when he resurrected.

Until that comes to past, healing is not guaranteed to anyone. Just as Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:20 that "Trophimus I left at Miletus sick.", and advise his "son" Timothy to drink a little wine instead of the dirty water because of his illness in 1 Timothy 5:23, likewise, the church is to exercise common sense, wash their hands, and practice social distancing.

Any views from interested Christians?

God heals but not on our demand and sometimes healing is not the right option. Right now a responsible leader needs to protect those in his care and given there is no natural cure that means following the medical advice to quarantine, wash our hands and practice social distancing and praying that worst of the plague will pass us by.

God allowed this plague and my biggest question is why?

The beginning of an answer is that God is shaking the nations and reconfiguring the way we do things , overthrowing certain ways of doing things and encouraging others. He is also calling a great many in his church home. The how and the what will become clearer as time passes.

No clue where all this.. going after "word of Faith". As if "in my name, these signs follow THEM that believe" some how ONLY apply to word of faith and not you or me.

Then.. sorry the ones people talk about here in this thread are wrong...yet your right why? WHY is your personal belief the RIGHT one?

So please speak words of life. Please treat others as you would like to be treated. Talk to other FAMILY members you might not agree with as if you were talking to CHRIST. Remember.. the WORLD will know were HIS by our LOVE one for another.

And the question really is... why are YOU not praying for the sick? Christ can't lie.. He said.. YOU and ME shall cast out demons, speak with new tongues, lay hands on the sick and they will recover. And those signs follow THOSE that believe. Do you believe? And if people DOUBT God does what? "let not that man think he will get anything from God". Yeah doubt really stops God. And NO ONE on this planet when praying for someone knows that person heart.

So lets love them. If in error pray for them. Show the world our LOVE..so they WANT our Jesus.. look at all the LOVE they have for each other.. even when they disagree

There are some of us who believed that Jesus was only directing those instructions to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

The Gentiles, which we are formerly, were not part of Jesus's ministry during the 4 Gospel periods. Jesus raised Paul to reach to us with new instructions.

And do you ever wonder why Paul never tell us, the Body of Christ, about Jesus's earthly ministry, other than the Lord's supper? Why didn't he remind us that signs and wonders will follow us when we believe?

  • 30 billion animals are slaughtered every year !
  • Millions of Dogs are boiled alive every year in China for food. That's where the virus started.

I believe Jesus would want humans off the planet. I think there are some spirits above that would encourage the removal of bad people.

Although God works through most things that happen in the world or in our daily life to bring people to a greater understanding of Him, His Ways, His Purpose, and His Will – to draw them to Him – working through something and causing it to happen are two different things.

There are those individuals who have promoted the idea, then later declared, this virus to be a judgement from God. Yet, God Himself has made no such declaration, if He had there would be more than a handful, relatively so to speak of, of ministers making this claim and the word would have came to the prophets and prophetess first – of which one of those making these claims against God has admitted he does not hold the mantle of.

God is Sovereign, of that there is no doubt, but most people do not have a truly balanced understanding of how God’s Sovereignty works, which has led some to think the Bible contradicts itself or distorted their understanding of God in general. God can do all things, God can make all things happen, God can change anything, that does not mean God does. Mankind often uses the idea of God’s Sovereignty to excuse their own conduct. Just because God displays or uses His Sovereignty in one area does not mean He displays or uses His Sovereignty in everything, note the word everything.

I believe that God's ways are inscrutable. (Rom 11:33-36, as one example). Besides, man's wisdom is foolishness to God. We can but speculate and follow to learn more. Holding our tongues until more information is confirmed and understood is prudent. The beginning of Wisdom is the Fear of God [humility before Adonai]. And He has us in His hands. What is there to fear? Our own worldly panic, certainly. Over a multitude of worldly matters: politics, terrorism, foreigners, changes in familiar social conventions, pestilence, famine, collapse, and on. But He has us in His hands. How often did Christ say, "Oh ye of little faith..."? Sometimes when I read this I can't help but picture Him closing His eyes and shaking His head a bit when He says it.

I believe God set everything up exactly as He wanted it -- Authored it -- before He laid the foundations of the world. What is fear but, at best, a distraction orchestrated by the Adversary? Temporary and desperate? "To live is Christ but to die is gain." What, exactly, do we have to fear?

Fear is, in many ways, the opposite of faith. Do we fear the fact that many kinds of signs and wonders recorded in the Gospels are not seen by many anymore? What are those signs and wonders compared to the miracle of God breathing that measure of Faith into you? What is the parting of the Red Sea in comparison to the absolute miracle of His gift of Faith within you at this moment? How implausible and preposterous that the Almighty Creator of the Universe would bother to cast His loving gaze upon any one of us to freely give us this totally undeserved measure of faith!

Different times and circumstances, different approaches and methods, all pointing to the same prize.
