This is all just to read scripture in search of a sword-spitting saviour.
The letter kills, only the Spirit gives life. I haven't been killed by any letters recently, literally Der Alter. Idk if the govt has stats on how many ppl each year are killed by the letter 'Q'. Perhaps it's in the Qabbalah, who cares.
It seems like I've entered the Twilight Zone being a born-again Christian, finding those who ought to be wisest in the teachings of grace (ie Christians) actually in general go the other way, and deny grace outright in favour of a petty and vindictive deity who gleefully tortures the innocent forever for the least infraction.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Gal 5:22-3)
So I'm sorry to have to disabuse you of the notion that a 16 year old rape victim suicide can look forward to eternity roasting on a spit courtesy of the HS, der Alter. I pray that you'll do some introspection so that you might see this outcome (which is necessary in your eschatology) is not of God, it is indeed the opposite. It is the letter which kills, it is of he who comes to steal and kill and destroy. It is diabolically unjust in its portrayal of God and its normative effects on the believer and unbeliever alike. It opens the door wide for satan. Consider the outcomes der Alter, totally twisted and messed up. Now consider God's character. I invite you to compare and contrast.
If you don't like what scripture says talk to the author. I only quoted scripture I didn't write it and I added nothing and removed nothing. . Quite evidently you cannot address the 26 verses I quoted, all you can do is resort to histrionic insulting rhetoric. That seems to be the norm among UR posters. As for replying to your post I will extend you the same courtesy you extended me.

No need to get huffy der Alter. Of course all those scriptures can be understood consistently with Grace, we've been over it all before. That's the context of the Bible, HIS SALVATION Yahushua Ha'Mashiach, the alpha and omega, the start and the end. Either you believe God is an evil b**stard or He's love. I say choose life.

Was God being an evil ******* in these verses? How does your "grace" excuse deal with them?
Genesis 19:24-25 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
Genesis 7:23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
Numbers 21:3 And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.
Deuteronomy 20:16-17 But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth
17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee:
Deuteronomy 7:2 And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:
Deuteronomy 32:25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.
Jeremiah 13:14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
I don't buy your grace argument. Why would God tell the Jews of Jeremiah's day that He was going to destroy them and never once say they would be saved after death. Why would Jesus preach eternal punishment etc. to Jews who already believed it it, if they were going to be saved no matter what? Why did Jesus never tell the Jews or anyone else that despite the eternal punishment [NOT that age during correction nonsense] etc. they would all be saved anyway.

Much thanks Noli for teaching me (lol).

The fact, yes fact, is aionios and aidios are not, repeat NOT, the same word in koine!

Aionios is rooted in aion which is totally grounded in the aions (plural).

Aidios is found exactly twice in Canon and is the ONLY word that can truly be translated as "eternal" since it is the Realm of the Aidios God who is the Beginning & Ending of the ta pante!

The noun is Life or judgment and the modifying ADJECTIVE is the age that life/judgment are both taking place in. Your Greek scholars error is in taking a noun… aion/age , which is an undetermined period of time with a beginning and an end, and then defining the modifying adjective of that noun …aionios …as almost always (67 X vs 3 X) being defined as a length of time that’s eternally endless both forward and backward . That is bad grammar, but it is the definition of the word aidios . Grammatical law says no adjective can have a definition stronger than the noun from which it is derived from.

Then to add dumber to dumb, the translators backpedaled to define aion/age as a limited time frame (which it is) as well as an unlimited or eternal time frame . HELLO, that’s NO DEFINITION AT ALL, it means nothing definitively, but TIME alone. Then they based that worthless definition upon how that word fit their doctrine in a verse. That is just " Lying scribes " scripture. It was in Jer 8:8 and it is still true today. And it does not fall within the parameters of “context determines definition” either. A concept I do understand and do believe in, but not with a definition that has been butchered to fit indoctrination.

An ’ hour ’ (noun) is a 60 minute long period of time. 8 hourly (modifying adjective) meetings doesn’t mean an hour is now 480 minutes. An age/aion is a defined amount of time with a beginning and an end. Adios has no beginning or end. So you are right none of your 'aionios means ETERNITY verses’ are correct. None of us have adios life…saved or unsaved. ALL we ever have until the ages are no more is a 'quality of life in any of the quantity of time ages. Ages that have been and are yet to come.

EPH 2:7 that He might show, in the ages that are coming , the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus,

And what " grace " is this verse talking about manifesting in the future ages? The same grace that we received in this age to be saved. So if you got saved in this age you don’t need to be saved again in the age to come. You just need to experience the life that becomes available in that age because you already ARE saved.

Sorry but aidios is used only twice in the new testament. Neither one refers to us!

Rom. 1: 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Quality of power defined by length.

Where did you come up with this definition of " quality of power defined by length "? I ask because it ‘stinks’ IMO. It smells like the same source as all those " lying scribes " that Jeremiah said fooled ALL who believed ‘ALL their scholars’ back then.
57def3eb015199cf771ff1ff4cf756377b45c41a.gif

aionios is translated 67 times as everlasting, eternal. All turning a qualifying adjective into a noun. Where does aionios ever get defined as what it is, an adjective pertaining to an AGE.

When is it NOT defined as eternal or everlasting you ask? Let’s look;

ROM 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world/aionios began,
Hmm, so your word translated ETERNAL 67 times had a BEGINNING…hmmm.

2TI 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world/ aionios began ,
Hmm, so your word for ETERNAL had something before ETERNITY began…hmm.

Now here is a verse where the LYING SCRIBES dug deep into the stink to defend a false doctrine.

TIT 1:2 In hope of eternal/aionios life , which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world/aionios began;

So ETERNAL LIFE…before…ETERNAL ever began . Now that stinks bad.

Those verses above from a reputable scholar whose Concordance is still in print today. Young’s Concordance…and here is his translation which stays true to the Greek and the laws of grammar.

YOUNG’S LITERAL TRANSLATION

ROM 16:25 And to Him who is able to establish you, according to my good news, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the secret, in the times of the ages having been kept silent,

2TI 1:9 who did save us, and did call with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, that was given to us in Christ Jesus, before the times of the ages ,

TIT 1:2 upon hope of life age-during , which God, who doth not lie, did promise before times of ages ,

An ’ age ’ is a period of time. And ’ ages ’ are " times" (plural) because those 'ages ’ are plural .

0126 aidios : everduring (forward and backward, or forward only)

So you believe in universal salvation then.

First exposed to it in the early 70’s. Studied it for 10 years just HOPING it was true. Ever since then, I have undoubtedly believed it is true. My God has a plan for all his creation to be saved. If not then he is worse than Hitler could ever be. Firing eternal torturing flames for no more purpose than to satisfy his unforgiving vindictive hate for those HE CONSIGNED TO SIN that He might have mercy on them ALL. Or MIGHT NOT. Now there is an “ETERNAL” belief that befits the fire of Hell. -Thank you Hillsage-

  • AIDIOS

This adjective is used only twice in the NT: Rom. 1:20 and Jude 6.

The Concordant Greek-English Keyword concordance gives the meaning: “unperceived”

  • The root of this word is id-, from the verb idein: “to see”

The adjective aidios has the prefix a- (the alpha privative) which negates the meaning of the word.

Cognates of this adjective are the nouns aidoion (“private parts”) and aids (“modesty; reserve; shame”)

The idea is that one keeps their private parts unseen, so as to be modest and show reserve.

The adjective idios and the noun idiots both have the same root id- (cf Liddell & Scott Lex.) as our adjective.

The meanings given for the adjective private “private; personal.” Such things as aidoion (our private parts) are normally kept “unseen” (a-idios).

The noun means “specific character; peculiar nature; property.”

If the noun were negated, then we could not see its specific character, peculiar nature, and thus not know its properties.

With these words, it’s all about seeing, or not seeing.

  • Modesty (aids)means keeping something private unseen. Another adjective, aidmn, means “bashful” – that is, one who does not want to be seen.

And then there is the noun aids, which Liddell & Scott give as the alpha privative a-, plus the verb idein as it root, and thus list the resultant meaning as “unseen.”

English translations drop the iota and normally render this word “Hades,” but, as with the Concordant Literal New Testament, this should be rendered “the Unseen.”

  • A second meaning that Liddell & Scott give for this word is “blind.”

Here are my renderings of the two NT verses:

    Rom. 1:20,

“For you see, from [the] creation (framing; founding of order out of chaos; settling) of [the] ordered System (cosmos; universe; or: world of culture, religion and government) His invisible things (unseen [qualities and attributes]) – both His imperceptible (unobservable) power, ability and capacity, as well as divinity (Godship; God-state) – are habitually seen down the line (or: are normally correspondingly perceived), being continually apprehended (grasped by the mind; mentally conceived) in the results and by the effects of things which are made or done, in order for them to be continuously defenseless (without an excuse).”

    Jude 6,

“Besides that, those agents (or: folks having or bringing a message) not guarding (keeping watch over; maintaining) the beginning of themselves (or: the rule of themselves), but to the contrary, after leaving away from (= abandoning) the personal dwelling place (one’s own abode or habitation), He has guarded, kept watch over and maintained under gloom (or: thick darkness) by imperceptible (or: in unobservable) bonds, with a view to a judging (a sifting and a separation for evaluating; a making of a distinction and a deciding) of a great Day (or: pertaining to or whose source is a great day; or: which is [the] great Day).”

    -Jonathan Mitchell N.T Translation-

Here is the complete definition of "aidios" from Liddell and Scott. Liddell Scott is online for anyone who wishes to verify what I post. Note this definition says nothing about "hades."

Dear Shrewd: Yahushua Ha'Mashiach, the Author & Finisher, completes everything with flair! Love is not an aspect of His being, it is His essence from which every aspect of His profound Being flows.

This plan of His, comprised with no consultation with any other, can only end in full & complete triumph. His salvation is exceedingly abundantly beyond any of us to conceive!

Yahushua Ha'Mashiach You are worthy!

In the time of Jeremiah was God's plan for Israel and Judah fulfilled? Or did the obstinance and disobedience of Israel and Judah cause God to change His plans?
I have posted this a number of times but none of the UR heroes have responded.
Note this passage from Jeremiah. God said “I have caused to cleave” That word is הדבקתי/ha’dabaq’thi. It is in the perfect or completed sense. God’s express will, clearly stated, for the whole house of Israel and Judah, to cling to God as a belt clings to a man’s waist. It was done, finished, completed, in God’s sight, and, according to some arguments, nothing man can do will cause God’s will to not be done. But they, Israel and Judah, would not hear and obey, their will, vs. God’s will, So God destroyed them, vs. 14.

…..This passage very much speaks to God’s sovereign will, and man’s free will and agency. God stated very clearly what His will was, in terms that cannot be misunderstood. But, because the Israelites and Judeans would not hear, and obey, God destroyed them, instead of them being unto God, “for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory, vs. 10.”

Jer 13:1 Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.
2 So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins.
3 And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,
4 Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
5 So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.
6 And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
7 Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.
8 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
9 Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave [הדבקתי/ha’dabaq’thi] unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

· · ·
14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
Note, verse 14, God said He will NOT have pity, will NOT spare, and will NOT have mercy but destroy them. When does God change His mind and have pity and mercy and spare those He has destroyed?

Seems like thousands of Greek scholars would disagree with your opinion that ainios is not eternal or lasting for ever. But hey what do they know- they read what is there, and you have mastered at reading what is between the written lines! (All sarcasm intended)

Here is a list of synonyms of aidos: (tranlsatd into English for your benefitr)

The definition by St. John is perfectly clear, aionios is NOT one of duration, but rather quality! ! !

Your biased unsupported opinion. The nine definitions by Jesus and ten definitions by Paul show beyond any question that you are wrong and "aionios" means eternal.

Amen!

Dear F.L.: our God fills fills us with springs of water welling up to life aeonion. He shows us what it means to be worthy, gracious, just, wise, perfect, good and holy. Jesus is the light of the world, and the way and the truth. The darkness can never put out that glory.

While I believe in a resurrection of the righteous to eternal life and the unrighteous to eternal judgment.

It is written in regard to salvation.
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Dear Randy: The Lord is the God of everlasting life/ aionios zoe. Our Lord is also the God of everlasting judgment /aionios kolasis.

Calling upon the Lord of Life begins with Him. We do not decide to follow JESUS, He must first call, and in that powerful call (when we hear it) a new Day begins in Him!

Dear Saint Ben: Any day that begins with springs of living water of aeonion life in the Lord of Glory, is one of unprecedented experience.

The glory of our God prevails over every dark corner, in every darkened heart, mind and spirit. Ultimately He prevails, darkness does NOT!

“It is in Him, and through the shedding of His blood, that we have our deliverance–the forgiveness of our offences–so abundant was God’s grace, the grace which He, the possessor of all wisdom and understanding, lavished upon us, when He made known to us the mystery of His will. And this is in harmony with God’s merciful purpose for the government of the world when the times are ripe for it-- the purpose which He has cherished in His own mind of restoring the whole creation to find its one Head in Christ; yes, things in Heaven and things on earth, to find their one Head in Him. And you…”

No argument. Where is it written that God does this in hell or the lake of fire?

Noli: I repeat, Aidios is found in exactly 2 Scriptures, both are in reference to He who ALONE is "eternal".

The definition by St. John is perfectly clear, aionios is NOT one of duration, but rather quality! ! !

The fact is aionios and aidios are not, repeat NOT, the same word in koine!

Aionios is rooted in aion which is totally grounded in the aions (plural).

Aidios is found exactly twice in Canon and is the ONLY word that can truly be translated as "eternal" since it is the Realm of the Aidios God who is the Beginning & Ending of the ta pante!

I tire of your ignorance!

Jude 6: 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Everlasting is aidios! So you are wrong in your thought and wrong in your knowing where aidios is used!

And now explain why greek scholars from all ages recognize that aionios and aidios are synonymous, just like in English eternal, everlasting, undying, forever are synonyms and mean the same even though they are not the same word!

When you throw out understanding of basic grammar when reading the Bible you wind up believing all this garbage!
