The Stock Market has had the worst month since the great Depression (we are basically back in the Great Depression again), this can not continue or the country will be gone and there won't be no more America but we continue on. With NYC major doing his thing it's ridiculous, I fear for America more than I fear a virus right now

I am profoundly sorry that this thread has degenerated into arguments.

I almost wish the problem at hand wasn't Coronavirus, but bubonic plague. If it was, there'd be one thing for sure---you'd be able to tell who had it and who didn't. :(

I hope I didn't contribute to the arguments and if I did I am sorry

You didn’t. There is a difference in reasoning together, people exposing their fears and just being obtuse. You are a person of goodwill and you never devolve to plugging your ears and throwing out insults. No worries. **hugs**

really angers me the amount of people getting angry about this, this is in new york, a place where hospitals are nearing capacity and people think their right to congregate some how supercedes others rights to live...
You got it. That’s what gets me as well.

Of course. Freedoms being ripped away by making the population fear and intimidation. We are losing rights and no one cares because of this sickness. Yes it serious and so is the flu where we had 39 million infected, 400,000 hospitalized and so far 24,000 dead and counting. I don't like the smell test in all this it sits wrong and I am still afraid all freedom's will die and the first will be speech and religion. I hate the fear the media created and I still don't trust anyone in the Government with the exception of Trump and Pence. I know people will hate me here and fight me, I can't help it this is the way I feel and have no other outlet. Our freedoms are gone and it is starting in NY
I see more and more people getting onto the stay-at-home thing and while I understand this and agree for the time being on much of it, social distancing is having a noticeable effect on how people in society are interacting, or not interacting. There is a distinct coldness and even borderline antipathy I sense between people if they are slightly too close. I accidentally bumped into a person's cart at Walmart and I apologized but the woman had the most angry look on her face as if I dropped her baby. No one even wants to look at each other. No one speaks in the store (I understand about the respiratory droplet thing but anyway). This social distancing thing is creating what I thought was a loveless society into an even more loveless society. It's impossible not to see this as demonic unless you are blinded by the devil yourself. None of this is from God. Human beings are not meant to operate in isolation. This is unnatural and it feels almost more toxic than the disease. They're even trying to close state parks now. People who get their exercise from going to the park can't get the necessary air and sun and take a basic walk outside. This is going to protect people's health? I also think that all these measures are veiled methods of getting people to accept incremental marshal law. If this stuff were only going to be a month or so that's one thing but I think they're going to keep making excuses to prolong this.

I feel that charsan and Al are making good points :|

I notice the same things when I go out to get groceries. The whole environment is one of distrust and suspicion and it's based on nothing that is scientific at all. Healthy people by definition cannot infect anyone with anything. But the media sure is doing a good job of infecting people with bigotry. Not everyone though. There are people I visit who welcome me and are distrustful of the hysteria promoted by the government. It really hasn't got anything to do with health. Lots of people die and for lots of different reasons and Covid-19 is a blip compared to all the other things that people die of. 10 times as many people died in car accidents and we don't have websites devoted to tracking every automobile fatality.
I'm still afraid of my elderly loved ones dying of it but I see your point in the other things you said.

I understand the need for social distancing. I understand the need for quarantine. But when you threaten to close houses of worship *forever* if they fail to comply with your orders???

Excuse me, Mein Führer, but you don't have that authority. Not in this country.

>>>>"I want to say to all those who are preparing for the potential of religious services this weekend: If you go to your synagogue, if you go to your church and attempt to hold services after having been told so often not to, our enforcement agents will have no choice but to shut down those services." De Blasio promised to "take additional action up to the point of fines and potentially closing the building permanently," if worshippers did not comply.<<<<

NYC may close churches, synagogues that don't comply with coronavirus orders, de Blasio warns
