• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hey I just realized I was bipolar in the summer/fall time and throughout my diagnosis I didn’t think I had a disorder but after some time looking in the past about how this disorder has effected I thought it was normal going up and down I thought that’s just how i am i was told I was manic depressive I didn’t know that was another term for bipolar...

I thought that it was normal but I had some dark days as some of us have had and now I look back since my diagnosis and realize I do have a mental illness along with paranoid schizophrenia but one thing is, once I noticed the bipolar for what it really is this past summer I know when I’m going through an episode but ever since I had that one episode I never encountered another yet so far I’m just wondering did it go away? Did me realizing it for what it is and what not stop it ? Lol maybe I’m just hoping it did..

Another thing is since the Lord came into my life I haven’t been as paranoid as before when he wasn’t in my life... I notice the paranoia comes from the enemy but not so often anymore but I have been getting attacked lately and the enemy uses the paranoia as an advantage over me because I hear the devils or demons imitating people that are close to me to get me paranoid because they sound just like them and they would masquerade as them from time to time but the Lord has been with me though I cannot perceive or sense him in the furnace fires.. he is faithful and does deliver... I will love you Lord you have saved me.

Great to hear how you also discovered The Power of God even though you have a mental illness.

i know Jesus is the Saviour of the world for He is who He says He is and He does as He says He does. The Word of God speaks always true with Him around. i love that part of Jesus. An real eye opener.

Bipolar is episodic, so though you might be symptom free now, there is every chance that you could go on to have another episode. Please don't stop your meds - they're what's keeping you stable

love,

a fellow bipolar sufferer in Christ

What you have done is right, that is, to remember what the Lord has done for and be thankful for all He has graciously given you.
Keep it up daily. Yes, find more what you can remember about the good things He has done and be thankful for. You will sense His presence more and more. That is how He responds to you.
