Ey guys it is me Paola, so i was in my basement yesterday and i found this crucifix hidden inside an old closet...

It has som relics inside it i guess, there are names with som stuff attached near them, like here for example i can read: "S. Antonio" with som brown hairy stuff attached near it...

What should i do with it? How did it go inside my basement? None of my family is a preist or something like that. Was it stolen then?
Is it legal to have one of these? What should i do?

Also the glass that conteins the relics is a little broken....
Let me know pls thanks

Go to One Bread One Body and ask. It’s obviously a Catholic piece. It is legal. If you do not want it, please donate it to a Catholic Church. It is a sacramental. @Davidnic can help.

Hi, Paola. There's no reason to think there's anything illegal about this crucifix. I don't think it's valuable. It probably was a favorite of someone who left it behind for some unknown reason. Perhaps it had belonged to someone dear to that owner.

The relics you mentioned are a mystery to me and I can't make that out in the pictures. But it's not terribly unusual as an item. It looks like there may be wood inlay. If that is what it is, the wood probably is from the Holy Lands. That's a popular motif.

I'd keep it if I were you, but you could show it to someone like the nearest Catholic or Anglican priest and see what he thinks the story behind this item is. Or give it to him if you are certain that you have no wish to keep it.
