Trump estimates US coronavirus peak death rate, extends social-distancing guidelines: 'I want our life back'
Excellent informative video if you follow the link.

Trump says coronavirus 'peak in death rate' likely in two weeks, extends social-distancing guidelines through April 30
President Trump on Sunday declared that "the peak in death rate" in the coronavirus pandemic "is likely to hit in two weeks," and said the federal government will be extending its social-distancing guidelines through April 30 as he attempted to brace nation for the possibility than 100,000 to 200,000 in the U.S. could die from the deadly virus.

"The modeling estimates that the peak in death rate is likely to hit in two weeks," he said at the White House Rose Garden. "I will say it again. The peak, the highest point of death rates, remember this, is likely to hit in two weeks... Therefore, we will be extending our guidelines to April 30, to slow the spread," the president said in the White House Rose Garden.

In response to a question at the briefing, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, reiterated his estimate from earlier in the day that it remained possible that 100,000 to 200,000 people could die in the United States. "What we’re trying to do is not let that happen," he said, calling the extension of social-distancing guidelines "a wise and prudent decision." Over 2,300 people with the virus already have died in the U.S.

True, we won't be in Church on Easter.

I saw on TV where some CLOWNS somewhere yesterday got in trouble for trying to throw a Coronavirus party. It's amazing that some out there are still clueless.

Nothing new here -- yesterday Trump snapped back at a CNN reporter for asking a stupid question. CNN once again trying to use this dire medical pandemic against the President and turn it into a political issue. Once again an uncaring weak move from CNN.

I didn’t check the link but I wonder how accurate they can actually be when they can’t test half of the people who need to be tested. I think mid April is an overly optimistic assumption at this point.

Melodrama much ? Few months and the pandemic restrictions on physical distancing are probably pretty much gone although the economical repercussions will take longer.

Everyone is free meanwhile to stockpile more guns and toilet paper.

It is not the end of the world nor even US democracy.

I am not the person you want to talk to right now....

Seriously, let's just all put each other on ignore...

Ummmm, no. The truth is that once again this President has demonstrated unprecedented emotional immaturity. It is basically unthinkable to imagine any President in living memory behaving like this adolescent.

Actually, once again CNN has shown their true colors. I can't elaborate.

Now they have the forced need for socialized medicine. Now they have a difficult situation to use against the President: whatever he does, they can say he shouldn't have done, and whatever he doesn't do they say that he should. They have a forced economic crisis, with increased control by the government over the average citizen. They have the churches closed and cowering in fear. They have people isolated and glued to their televisions, fixated on popular news. You're right. This is a leftist dream come true.

I don't believe this virus was created intentionally by any particular political group. There was no conspiracy in this. Unfortunately, it happened and other countries have had to deal with it also, not just the USA. The churches are not closed, people can worship by going online for their service. They can also still donate money to their church. It is not the end of church or religion. It's just that things will have to change for a while.

A guy Trump can’t get rid of before the elections without showing such a level of pettiness that even his base might take a note.

I wouldn’t count on it. The nutcases already have a file on Fauci for ‘disrespecting’ Trump, that includes him saying something nice about H Clinton about 7 years ago (no joke). Don’t underestimate the ability of Trumpists to bend reality. Trump does have some craftiness however, I think he realises that removing that layer of cover would expose just how out of his depth he is, so I think Fauci is safe until or unless things do get under control, at which point Trump will be able to cast some blame at him for anything that goes wrong, in his usual saying it without exactly saying it way that his base loves so much.

In the case of our government, yes it is. The Fed doesn't just print money, it adds credit to banks. The Treasury won't print any new money but the Fed will issue several trillions of credit to US banks.

It's nice to see trump taking a more serious note. However there is something wrong with the math. If the projection is 100,000-200,000 deaths and the peak of these will be mid April then the death toll has got a lot of catching up. It's 3000 now and if the worst of it will be in 2 weeks then in 2 weeks we should see the halfway point of the projection. The problem with that is that if 47,000 die n 2 weeks (to meet the halfway point for 100,000) then that high number of deaths would indicate a much more serious pandemic and would suggest a much higher death rate. So someone's math is wrong (even if 10,000 die in 2 weeks that's still a serious problem). Either the death toll projections are wrong or the peak death rate in two weeks is wrong. If both are right and the highest death rate will be in 2 weeks then the US will have a very slow de-acceleration of the spread lasting years to equal the death toll projection.

Yeah...about that:
Gay 'Twinks4Trump' founder held a 'Corona Potluck' party to spread coronavirus - Metro Weekly
A gay Trump supporter and alt-right figure threw a party to try and spread the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The New York Post reports that Lucian Wintrich, 31, held a “Corona Potluck” party in his New York City apartment earlier this month to try and spread the virus and build herd immunity.

Wintrich — who created “Twinks4Trump” in 2016 to try and encourage gay people to support Donald Trump — is a former White House-credentialed journalist who wrote for far-right website Gateway Pundit until he was fired in 2018 after appearing on a white nationalist podcast.

It's amazing that some out there are still clueless. (snip)
I agree...
