Corona in your area?

A friend from school posted on my FB a local little grocery store in my hometown - they are well stocked.

I’ve been thinking and we don’t have a shop like that in this town. But there are a few similar ones in the city.

It is probably a good place to look for anyone needing supplies.

What is different though is that- thanks to modern flight and other transportation- a virus in one corner of the world can arrive in your neighbor overnight. And then rinse and repeat the next day.

Italy took bold steps to stop direct flights from China. Except people were still able to just return by taking connecting flights. The virus is fine with that.

Alright, I admit it. I had enough and lost my cool today!!!!

I was just in Walmart and saw some guy whose cart was FULL to the brim with hand sanitizers, baby wipes, soaps, everything that people need!! He must have had ten packages of toilet paper!!!

I called him a selfish, greedy low-lifer and gave him a verbal beat down about the elderly, moms, and people who need all these supplies . Told him I should give him a good beating but since times are rough already, I will not but he needs to shape up and help out.

He looked up at me and said: “Are you done? Cause I really need to get back to restocking the shelves now!!

Dallas County issued a “shelter in place” order as of midnight tonight. This affects our older son & his wife, and my elderly in-laws.

My parish, my husband’s workplace, and our younger son and his pregnant wife, are all located in the county just north of there, so it’s probably just a matter of time before they’ll get the same order. Our county has its first confirmed case.

I'm in Monterey County, we have a shelter in place, work there is no work for many now, my step dad had to temporary go on Unemployment. I work at Walmart, and am Thankful to God for my job. The Services are canceled at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Carmel , my home parish , it been depressing not being able to attend the services, however we have obey our Bishops instructions, and use this time to repent . Father is using Zoom to Livestream closed door Services with only him, Presbyteria, and his Son.

The cases of Covid19 are jumping, it started at just two, travel related of course ,it is at 14, four recently from community spread . Since I have Asthma, and High blood pressure , I'm taking my medicine, and inhaler as recommended, I'm also washing my hands constantly, using hand sanitizer constantly, using rubber gloves, and wearing a mask. It been a nightmare until the last few days just getting water, and Toilet Paper, and im a Employee.

It works if you are sprouting an avocado, so wish me luck.

How’re you all doing? I’m off from school home with super painful kidneys with two out of three kids and the world is looking like the Road Warrior only instead of gasoline they’re pillaging toilet paper!?

Please pray for my wife, Kate. Between working her NP clinicals in a rural clinic and working her regular job at the hospital, her chances of exposure are high. I really ask for prayers!

NZ is in complete lockdown.

Everything is continuing like normal here, despite government orders and mostly just the restaurants being closed. All the bikers are out on their bikes, the school had some kind of parade event. Everyone is outside having a good time. I don't see social distancing, which is good, but some people have masks and gloves. I assume the state is ignoring the laws against wearing masks at this point.

Been telecommuting for a while thank goodness. MD issued an enforced stay at home begins 8pm tonight

“We are no longer asking or suggesting Marylanders stay home, we’re directing them to do so,” Hogan said, adding that the COVID-19 pandemic is a deadly crisis.


Hogan said there are still some people who continue to ignore his previous directives.


“Those individuals are endangering themselves and their fellow citizens,” he said. “Anyone engaged in this type of reckless behavior is in violation of state law and is putting the lives of their family, friends and fellow Marylanders at risk.”


Any person who knowingly or willing violates the order is guilty of a misdemeanor and if convicted, could be imprisoned up to a year or fined up to $5,000 or both.

We have a couple of Covid-19 cases in our county. We are in the rural upper midwest. Travel related. They are quarantined, one is in the hospital. I work in retail and by my request I have had my employer cut my hours to nothing, mainly very early hours, and before/after doing deposit.
The (dollar) store we have in our town(where I work) was pandemonium cleaned out of essentials. I am over 60 and have had pneumonia three times since 2005 and have been diagnosed with very early COPD, otherwise I would work my regular hours and take my chances. I am drawing SS and so is my Husband so hopefully that will get us through.
Our Lutheran Pastor has been recording online Sunday and Lenten services with wonderful messages so wonderful. No communion of course and I miss it. This gives me more chance to read up on the early church. I hope to visit an Orthodox Church someday when this all lifts. Stay safe and healthy everyone!
ETA: Our state has a stay at home order until 4/10.

Thanks Matt; I'm well stocked and a good amount of protective gear if I need to go out; ordering most stuff on amazon. More worried about my personal spiritual state and depression than the actual virus right now.

Corona is all over the place in my county. Florida didn’t take preparation seriously and everyone insisted that shutting down businesses was unnecessary and now we are overwhelmed. Working in a hospital is scary right now. Things are getting serious.

It's time to embrace the madness. I'm giddy.

Lord have mercy!

The seventh death here in Sacramento County was just announced today. We have 224 cases in the county as of this morning. That number is expected to skyrocket over the next few weeks as we reach the peak of the curve. You already cannot go to the doctor in person unless it is for corona-related testing or treatment. We seem to be taking the shelter in place order pretty seriously, though of course there are always scary outliers.

I was told by the triage nurse who interviewed me over the phone to determine whether I needed to come in for covid-19 testing (as I exhibit all the symptoms except for a fever; thanks be to God, that went away last week and hasn't returned) that I probably have a sinus and upper respiratory infection. Following from that, I am under no circumstances to leave the house -- not even for groceries. The virus attacks the areas of the body that in my case are already under stress and fighting off this preexisting infection, so it's simply too dangerous to risk catching covid-19. I would be a goner.

So predictably I am running out of supplies, and now must rely on a social worker to bring me food from the local food bank, as I cannot leave my apartment. Things are 'getting real', as they say. I thank God I have the support that I do have, which is absolutely essential at times like this. I pray that all of you also have supportive people around you, and give thanks for the medical professionals, social workers, and others who are the lifelines of shut-ins like me. Lord have mercy on us all!
