• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

This lady I take care of has Bi-polar and her own family doesn't want anything too do with her. She gets no call's and no Holiday gifts from her children. She tried to kill herself twice in her own apartment. This all happened after her husband of 45 years died from Cancer.

That's probably true. If we don't focus on helping others, we get mentally sick and deranged. You can read it here all the time with people who focus on themselves and remain lost in life. The list of "their problems with the world" is endless. They stop helping others.

This is so sad. God bless you for caring for her. Praying for her, does she believe?
She is a Christian but off and on when comes her mood swings. Her dead husband was a very strong Christian.

Thank you for answering, I only asked because I didn't know whether you were able to comfort her with God and whether she would be receptive.
Actually I felt bad that I hadn't told you I would pray also for you because you need to know that we care for you as well.
Well I want to say that you are exactly where God wants you to be and that even though your job is very hard at times, you are being a true blessing in this lady's life.
May He keep you in His strength and bless you with His peace always.:prayer:

Today she's worried about this virus and if her house is clean enough because she could die. Two days ago she wanted to die by the virus. It just takes someone to say wrong thing to make her go off.
