I need some prayer. People are not listening to the restrictions that are placed upon us.

I get that some people can't stay home because they have to work and I prayed for God to protect them at work. Those people don't make me angry because that is something that they can't help. But some people they won't follow those restrictions. In our town we are told to stay indoors to slow the spread of the virus. But people are going around saying no I am not going to stay home. They act like as though they are invincible. They have to understand that it isn't all about them. I mean I get it it's not all about me either, but am I wrong to be angry?

I can't help it. When I hear them say this on Facebook, I want to scream at them and call them names and tell them how selfish they are being. We have three confirmed cases here. But everyone keeps saying well I'm going to go to the park and I don't care what the government wants.

I know I need to repent of my anger. And maybe I'm being selfish for being angry, and therefore I don't have the right to call them selfish.

God, Jesse & I are seeking to stick with you amidst people of flighty mind inside & outside the churches. Please God move your people to intercede more and to bring our hearts down to You and care about townspeople everywhere, in this threat of lasting after effects for millions. We beg You for just government. Amen

I think it is making all of us frustrated. The same is happening here.
People are still gathering together in public spaces without a care in the world and totally ignoring the advice they have been given. The police have been given powers to issue fines to those who do not co-operate, and if they do not pay them, then they face an unlimited fine in the Courts.
To make matters worse, some of the more belligerent have resorted to antisocial behaviour. Shockingly, there have been reports of people spitting and coughing at emergency workers. Thankfully this is being clamped down on and those found guilty will face a lengthy prison sentence.
No-one wants to have these restrictions, but the government have made it clear that they are there for a reason: to stop the spread of the virus and our hospitals becoming overwhelmed with new cases.

Thank you for sharing. I'm just glad I'm not the only one who sees this.

It's okay you are being angry for the right reason for a very short time, as long as you don't put your anger into action and try, not to make it linger or it will only fester up in you. I get angry at some of these people too. Heavenly Father, I pray for people who aren't thinking of anyone but pleasing themselves. Not only are they putting themselves at risk but could be endangering the lives of others who aren't as strong physically or as healthy as them? I ask that You will reach them so they may do their part in using common sense, distancing and protecting others and staying home when sick. This goes for all viruses and flues, In Jesus Name, Amen,

Thank you very much for the prayer, and for the reminder of what the Bible says about anger.

You have to give people the freedom to do research, use critical thinking and decide for themselves what danger, if any, they are actually facing. You are accepting such rights for yourself. Why not allow them to others?

It seems most of the fear is being generated by t.v. T.v. puts one into a light trance state so that can make it more difficult to be objective, in my opinion. Some people have tossed out their t.v. and generally pulled away from mainstream media as much as wise, and see a different world than the one those are presenting. Again, allow other people to be independent thinkers.

Anger is also bad for the immunological system. So, if you are feeling very fearful about the Corona Virus, and if it is likely to attack you, that wouldn't help.

I pray you will have peace and light on this issue.

OK. I get it. Like I said, my anger could be very selfish on my part. That is probably why I need repent.

Thank you very much for the prayer. God bless you.

The Bible says "Anger resides in the lap of fools." It has certainly been in my lap a lot of time in my life so I am not judging.

Anger wasn't the biggest message I was trying to convey, but what does it matter? As I said people get angry a lot of times if you present another point of view. There is one. On the web, and here in my little town, I have heard people dissenting from what the media says based on their research and from just looking around. They are not trying to be selfish. They just don't buy it. Though admittedly the great majority does!

But truth is not determined by high numbers or low numbers of believers. The Father knows. That is why I prayed for you for light. I have prayed for everyone for light, including myself.

Oh no, I wasn't angry at all. I need that other point of view. I apologize to you if that is what it seem. Please forgive me. But I wasn't angry.

I was feeling guilty to be perfectly honest after your post. You are right when you said that I need to let people think for themselves. I did not like the feeling that I was telling people how to live their lives. And that is exactly what I would be doing if I started to yell at them. So, I see your point. And you are also right when you said that I thought for myself, why can't they? So, you made sense.

Here is something I bet we can both agree on, regardless if the problem is a virus, or any other threat to our nation:

"If my people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land."

I personally think no way this nation is very likely to repent. However, I think the same Biblical principle can be applied for us individually.

Yes, I do agree :)

And I need to do this everyday. I would do this once, and then I think it is enough. I am so inconsistent in my repentance. But that is truth.

God bless

Messiah told us to knock and keep on knocking. This is how it seems to me - we pray and maybe we get some success depending on how much heart we put into it. But then the enemy comes along and tries to steal our success. Or the world distracts us. So, we have to pray again, knock on the door of Heaven again.

And we have to do what the Scriptures say so we can be strong and get close to the Father. We are told to meditate on the Word day and night and to cast down "vain imaginations" and "everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of Messiah." How hard that is! We have to keep knocking to be able to do that too!

I know you know all that, but so many people read these posts, maybe it will be useful to someone else. Ya never know. :)

I suspect this whole Corona Virus scare will cause some people to really get serious about their faith and turn more whole heartedly to the Lord.

Yes, but it is very good to be reminded; so thank you. I am not going to give up. I am going to set a time to praise and pray like we talked about everyday. Thank you :)

Here was the tough part for me. At first. The part where it says to meditate on the Word day and night, i.e. around the clock. It seemed impossible. But with prayer it became more and more possible and lately I have been missing that if I don't do it.

Frank Laubach was a famous (in his time) missionary in the Philippines who talked about practicing the Presence of the Lord. He did that by trying to talk to Him at least every 5 minutes. He spoke of the glorious realm, the great joy, he experienced when he grew proficient at that. Another person, a monk called Brother Andrew, was also famous for Practicing the Presence. He had a very humble life, but it left him lots of time to also talk to the Lord around the clock. He had the same results as Laubach.

I want to try this as well!
:) It really does work! As I have told Jesse, i.e. Introverted, what I experienced was like this:
When I would repeat the Bible verses with thanks day and night - and I had to watch out for being mechanical, rather than speaking with heart - then it's like I was planting seeds, but didn't know which kinds they were.

If you really keep it up those seeds will produce things like joy, or wise insights, or a deeper love for others. And the seeds don't pop up right away as a rule -at least not for me at this point in my practicing. But maybe the next day I would see the "flower" or "fruit". The more you put into it, the more you get out of it of course. And I've had to pray pretty often to keep it up. It's so worth it after awhile - though honestly at first it seemed tedious and kinda boring.

I have found You Tube to be indispensable. There are so many Bible verse vids on whatever topic we want, love of the Father, forgiveness, fear, prosperity, whatever, that you can speak along with to the Father and Son. And so many Scripture-only songs to sing along with.(If you like, you can PM me and I will send some links. I know you are probably pretty busy with your children and other family.)

Now Laubach and Brother Andrew did not say anything - that I know of - about saying Bible verses. But maybe they did anyway. They just talked to the Lord around the clock. Somehow that didn't work for me, but using Scriptures did.

In addition to using You Tube vids, I also made up an alpha list to go through on some days, with my faves. Like A is for Messiah has been given all authority....healed them all...I can do all things through Messiah Who strengthens me....Like B is for Thank You Yahushuah [i.e. Jesus] that Your burden is easy and your yoke is light....Thank You Abba that You tell us to come boldly before the Throne of Grace to receive...." etc.

I guess everyone finds their own style and helpers.

I pray you will become a great saint at Practicing the Presence of the Lord. (And Jesse too!) And you can pray that for me also!

That was very informative and helpful at the same time. Thank you very much
