Apparently, the right wing media hasn't addressed this yet, and their followers don't have a narrative to push, much less a response. Let's have it. A rugged defense of capitalism? Help from the federal government in times of crisis is socialism?

I want to hear from Trump's supporters how Presidential it is for the President of the US to first suggest that states buy their own medical supplies during the outbreak of a pandemic and then outbidding them for those same supplies is a good leader, and serving our country as he has sworn to do.

What the...?

Trump has some nerve suggesting that the state get their own and then have the federal government just outbid them?

Is the federal government planning on handing them out? Or are they just hording at Trump's orders?
Is anybody in the Trump syndicate profiting from this?

I want you to do me a favor, though.

Trump singled out the Democratic leaders of Washington and Michigan, noting that he had advised Pence not to call them as the healthcare crisis plagues their states and people fall sick and die.

“He calls all the governors,” Trump said. “I tell him, I mean, I’m a different type of person. I say Mike, don’t call the governor of Washington, you’re wasting your time with him. Don’t call the woman in Michigan.”

“If they don’t treat you right, I don’t call,” Trump said.

Michigan’s health department is reporting 3,657 COVID-19 cases and 92 deaths. In Washington, there have been 3,700 cases, according to the state, and 175 deaths.

“We have done a hell of a job,” Trump said. “The federal government has really stepped up.”

Trump’s message to governors was that he wants “them to be appreciative.”

Note that until the right-wing media comes up with an official response we won't hear about this from the rank-and-file supporters (here or anywhere) -they will need to wait for the story that they will all stick to together. As you said, they don't have a narrative to push. Not yet, anyway. I wonder how long it will take this time?

Expect the followers of the current president to remain silent. They will tout everything else and then deliberately ignore actions like this. However, deep down I think the silence is agreement with the behavior because they support the politics of retaliation and vindictiveness.

Dear Leader is willing to kill all of us in Michigan to spite our Governor; I love that level of dedication.

I agree - it's the same as how many like to be racists but want to remain silent and/or ignore the blatant racism. They know better and they know they're choosing wrong so they continue but avoid any discussion of it. When pushed, they'll lie, but they prefer to remain silent and avoid discussion so as not to have to deal with the complexities that come with lying. But they will never admit they are choosing what's wrong.

Right, because ultimately it’s an admission of, “I’m okay with this.”

A fun game I like to play is to wait to see the first conservative response on a forum like this and then google it and see where they got it from. Inevitably, every single time I find what they are saying (usually verbatim) in multiple obscure, right-wing sensationalist/conspiratorial sites. Let's see what the first right-wing response will be in here and then trace it.

The silence is deafening.

Just waiting for the spin doctors to come up with catchy responses that blame Democrats, give it time. I am going to the market before Trump decides to withhold food deliveries to Michigan.

Now let’s not overstate it. It’s not like he’s requiring the Governors bow and face Mara Lago five times a day. He just wants a little positive reinforcement. Give the poor guy a break. He’s facing down a pandemic here, people. Showing some fear of the President isn’t such a big thing to ask.

Really really great dedication. Perfect dedication. Nobody is more dedicated to managing the spread of COVID-19 than Mr. Trump. Michigan Appreciates Greatness Again.

Whether he talks to them or not should not depend on if they are appreciative or not. He is the President of all Americans, not just his supporters. This is un-Presidential behavior.
"Un-Presidential" is an understatement. It is unconscionable behavior.
