Weird.. some YouTube videos wouldn't display HD icon despite being set to 720P and looking pretty blurry. Although now it seems to be fine.

Not sure if they're gearing up to turn off the HD feature off for American streamers or not like I've heard they've been doing in Europe.

NVM looks like they're not counting 720P as HD anymore.. although when I go to that option it looks too blurry for that.

I've noticed the internet in general has been acting strange lately. Wi-fi keeps cutting in and out, websites like CF not being accessible, and everything has been generally slow, although right now things seem normal again (on a Friday night). I attribute it to the whole world being stuck with relying on the internet for everything from working at home, to watching movies online, to every aspect of their social life all at the same time.

The source I found shows 2,386 Coronavirus Dashboard with 2,045 of them in New York.

Nice site, thanks for the link, but it agrees with me. It says US recovery is 1%, in fact is says only 62 recovered. So not sure what going on there, although 2000 would represent 2% instead of 1%, and still isn't "many"

What was your experience like? Mild symptoms, no symptoms, hospitalization?
Mild symptoms, but general malaise that lasted for about 10 of the 14 day quarantine. Shortness of breath has persisted.

Not when I looked. It has 1 recovered in New York.

For the US: 105,000 cases, 2,500 deaths, 61 recovered.

Johns Hopkins shows 105,000 cases, 1700 deaths, 900 recovered

(personally, I would trust the Johns Hopkins site over the one you chose -- no disrespect intended to Avi Schiffman.)

Something doesn't look right here. It's been widely reported that the mortality rate has been 3%. But those figures are showing far more people dying than recovering.

Recovery takes longer than death.

Would it be not surprising if some evil force was at work here, the highest death rate has been in Italy...

Viruses aren't evil, they're mainly just strands of RNA that look for host cells for replication. It just so happens this particular virus uses human host cells.

The higher death rate in Italy is explained by the fact that Italians didn't take advance warning seriously, the outbreak quickly overwhelmed their hospitals, and they have a higher proportion of elderly individuals compared to most of the rest of Europe.

For some reason the number of deaths in the US has dropped significantly on the daily increase. If this is legitimate it is really great news, the lockdown is having an effect. But if it isn't legitimate it could indicate we are entering the real nightmare scenario. Are people dying in their homes because there is no longer room at the hospitals? Are the hospitals so overwhelmed they can't report in a timely fashion?

It's not an issue of "legitimate", more one of 1 data point doesn't make a trend. Also, it's early days of the outbreak, and variations in small numbers can look like some kind of skew. Your daily case rate is a better measure of how things are tracking. Look at Italy, the mortality rate took off at the same time as the case rate flattened.
