so... take the hit, tell him how much you love it, and ask for more pain?

No one, except a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], would do that.

But that is his plan:
Take the hit (He isn’t going to stop it)
Tell him how much you love it (most of His responses are basically “shut up“. Example: “My grace is sufficient “ was Him telling Paul to quit whining about the thorn. Besides that if you complain about what is going on, you are a “murmurer”. The only option is telling him you love it and by extension Him for sending it)
Ask for more pain (spiritual things don’t come from pleasant experiences, and He expects you to pray for a lot of spiritual things)

He does sometimes.
I was healed overnight after 18 years with M.E. I know others who have been ill, sometimes very ill, but made speedy recoveries. I've heard of others who've been healed from a number of illnesses. Jennifer Rees-Larcombe was in a wheelchair for 8 years with Encephalitis and even died at one point. She was healed suddenly and is still healthy and on her feet.
Some of these have been Christians and believed in, and asked for, healing; some have been non Christians. There is no formula for healing.

Tell him how much you love it (most of His responses are basically “shut up“. Example: “My grace is sufficient “ was Him telling Paul to quit whining about the thorn.

"My grace is sufficient for you" means that the Lord can give courage, strength, peace and so on IN the trial, as well as the assurance that he works for good in ALL things - which is very far from saying "stop complaining or I'll make things worse for you."

Besides that if you complain about what is going on, you are a “murmurer”.

Have you read the Psalms lately? King David talking about how he felt far from God, wished God would kill his enemies; how his bones were weak and he was worn out with grief?
Do you know what God said about David - "he is a man after my own heart." Jesus wept at Lazarus' grave and pleaded, in the garden of Gethsemane, for his suffering to be taken away. Yes, he said "your will be done", but it wasn't easy.

The only option is telling him you love it and by extension Him for sending it)

I doubt there are many people, if any, who've ever said "Lord I love having cancer/MS/Dementia/MND/Parkinson's etc; please bless me even more by making it worse/giving me another illness as well."

Saying that you love the Lord, is not at all the same as saying that you love that life is so painful, unfair, wicked, difficult and awful at times.
Expecting that our lives can never be like that because we love him, is not realistic.

Ask for more pain (spiritual things don’t come from pleasant experiences,

Oh yes they do!
The beauty of nature can lead to praise. The birth of a new baby can lead to thankfulness and awe. The blessing of friendships can lead to gratitude and a desire to be a good friend to others. The blessing of homes, food, water, warmth, clothing etc can lead to a desire to help those who are less fortunate. The joy of reading the Bible and learning new things can lead to a commitment not to take it for granted, and thankfulness to the Holy Spirit who still inspires, comforts and leads us today.
The wonderful experience of being healed from M.E and having my life back, has lead to a greater desire to know, love and serve God.

God can, and does, speak to us in the pleasant times. It's just that people sometimes don't hear - they only remember and talk to him when times are hard. We can all take him for granted when our lives are easy and pleasant. He doesn't send us pain to force us to notice him - because it doesn't work with many - but he can speak to us through the pain. And he is always with us.

How do you suppose that any created, finite, fallible human can get the infinite Creator and Lord of the universe to do anything?
We can pray - we can all certainly do that; but no one can make God answer the way that we want him to, or think that he should.
God is God and our attitude of heart should be "Thy will be done".

He does sometimes.
Your odds are better for winning the lottery. He doesn’t stop jack for most people.

I don’t care about ANY IF THAT while I am in the trial. I just want the trial gone. If there is good to come from it I want that gone too. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is worth going through this pain. And His grace is entirely insufficient. If it was actually sufficient, THE PROBLEMS WOULD NOT HAPPEN! That would be sufficient grace.

Have YOU read about David? 90%of his life was pain and suffering, he had a few good years as king the rest was trash.

Exoecting...realistic
If I wanted realistic why would a pray to a divine being ?

I hate the outdoors.
I can count on one hand the people I would call friends. The rest I wouldn’t be hit hard if they died horribly.
I actually fell little pity for the poor. I have been poor and it made me LESS sympathetic.
I lose trust and faith when I study the Bible as I see more of the crud God piled on those who worship him at all.
if he would act for me as your healing shows he acted for you, I might have a greater desire for Him. In fact in better times, I did care about His grace, spirit, love etc. No more. He beat that out of me.

We live under the curses from the fall of Adam. The prophets would sometimes defy the curse, Jesus plundered it, then defeated it. We live between the cursed times and the kingdom ruling times. The only way to get rid of the curse is to use God's power. You need a team with knowledge and power.

Well I have been healed from M.E, and never won the lottery - although having my life back it feels as though I have.

I don’t care about ANY IF THAT while I am in the trial. I just want the trial gone. If there is good to come from it I want that gone too. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is worth going through this pain.

I know you don't care about the help and grace that God has already given you.
I was trying to reply to, and answer, your post which insisted that God's plan is to heap pain on everyone and our response has to be to love the pain, want more and thank him for it.
That's totally incorrect; though I can see that it may feel like that from where you are.

And His grace is entirely insufficient. If it was actually sufficient, THE PROBLEMS WOULD NOT HAPPEN! That would be sufficient grace.

No, being a Christian does not mean that we get a pain free, problem free life.
We are not doing God a favour by believing in him, and he doesn't owe us anything.

Have YOU read about David? 90%of his life was pain and suffering, he had a few good years as king the rest was trash.

I wouldn't have said that.
Anointed king when he was a boy, fought Goliath and won a victory for his country, very popular with people, talented in music and poetry, was crowned king and reigned for 40 years. Yes, David had problems - some of them of his own making - but he was known as a king after God's heart. Despite his troubles, David loved God and wrote many of the Psalms in the Bible, expressing his love and trust. God made a covenant with David and made him a promise that there would also be one of his descendants on the throne. When future kings messed up badly and were punished, God always said "for the sake of my servant David, your relative will inherit the throne." The Messiah himself, Jesus, was descended from King David.

I know you don't care and won't be comforted by any of that - before you shout at me - I was simply answering your post.

If I wanted realistic why would a pray to a divine being ?

Oh, I'm sorry; I thought having asked the question, on a Christian forum, "how do I get God to actually help?", you might be interested in a reply which said, "talk to him".

I hate the outdoors.

Maybe. I was simply answering your point that pleasant/happy experiences do not do anything for us spiritually; that God only blesses us by giving us pain.

I can count on one hand the people I would call friends. The rest I wouldn’t be hit hard if they died horribly.

That's an uncaring attitude; maybe that's why you don't have many friends.

I actually fell little pity for the poor. I have been poor and it made me LESS sympathetic.

Maybe that says more about you than them.

I lose trust and faith when I study the Bible as I see more of the crud God piled on those who worship him at all.

It's a shame that you see only the negatives, and not examples of his great love.

if he would act for me as your healing shows he acted for you, I might have a greater desire for Him. In fact in better times, I did care about His grace, spirit, love etc. No more. He beat that out of me.

Well, you're in a vicious circle then.
"How do I get God to ACTUALLY help?" - you can't.
"Why should I pray to a divine being?" - to ask him to help you?
"If he helped me I might believe in him - but by 'help' I mean complete physical healing, not empty words" - he has given you help, just not in the way that you demand it.
"I don't care about the 'help' he has given me" - so what's your solution then?

As far as I can see there is only One person who could help you; God. But you're not interested in what he has to say, and like I said in my first post, there is no way to MAKE him do anything.

Ok the “pray to a divine being” part was a response by the “realistic” part of your statement. I want divine Intervention which by definition is unrealistic.

What happens with me is I pray for things I want to happen (ranging from dire needs to eh that would be nice) and things I don’t want to happen(ranging from mildly bad to please don’t let this hellishly awful thing happen ever). God takes the lists erases the titles and writes “Things That Cannot Be Allowed to Happen” as the title for the good list and “My Plan, Implement ASAP” over the bad list.

No, that's how you see it because your prayers are not answered as you wish; that is not what happens.

Unsubscribing.
But if you want a debate about how/if God answers prayer, start a thread in another forum.
