Two me there are two kinds of poverty.

1. The kind where out of no fault of your own, you are so poor that you in poverty. You live check to check, you can't afford normal everyday things like clothes, cable....etc).

2. The kind of poverty that results of someone who is terrible at handling money. Their poor self-control and bac choices is why they are in poverty. However, they are not actually in poverty really, they have the money to not be but spend it badly and thus they only think they are poor.

I know far to many that are #2. They don't really have money for food, clothes, for bills...etc And yet they are always going out to eat, buy expensive jewelry, the newest smartphone, they have five streaming services, they own an expensive car....etc.

A similar comparison would be like if God told Noah to build the ark but then he was not able. Why can’t you understand my frustration.
Because,
  1. Noah WAS able to comply.
  2. He didn't demand resources from other people.
  3. He didn't call into question the Christianity of others, if they did not accommodate his vision...

What do they mean when people say that poverty is first how people think. Can some of you guys elaborate on that? Thanks!
Absolutely, it's a mindset. Some can do much with little and some just throw away the little they have. It's not how much you have, it's how you use it.

1. I’m doing all I can to comply with what God tells me.

2. It takes resources to accomplish things.

3. The Church is in severe apostasy. Jesus said the road is narrow. Only a remnant will be saved.

Your not only comparing apples and oranges, your placing both of them in the box and calling them the same fruit.

Jesus was talking to the Jewish People about the Kingdom in relation to them as a people, in bot places you referenced.

Not to Christians.

What are you trying to say? That the road is not narrow?

Your responses to me let me know that riches is a burden you are not yet able to bear. I must withhold this information, for your own good....

Go ahead and withhold and insult. You will reap what you sow. I will continue praying for plagues.

Before my husband was laid off we lived okay, between my disability and his income we didn't have a lot but we certainly had a roof over our heads and all our actual needs met, even had extra to pay for cellphones and internet/cable (not that either of those two things were necessary). We had a household income and we lived within that income, finding the ability to give in charity and to the church as well.

There was a couple who worked with my husband who were younger, but between them both working they actually made more than my husband and I, as I'm disabled and am unable to work. Mind you, this couple didn't have children, it was just them in the home.

They constantly struggled to make ends meet, were constantly broke and never had extra money in their pocket come payday... so once they asked my husband how we managed to have so much on our income, when they seemed to have so little.

And my husband's point blank answer was live within your means. We had a single used car with no car payments. Our cellphones weren't the latest and greatest etc. We looked at what we had to live on, and contented ourselves with what we could actually afford, instead of trying to keep up with trends or the jones'..

If all you can afford to eat is beans, then you eat beans, and give thanks for that..

If a car payment is straining your finances buy an older used car and learn how to do your own minor repairs instead.. our only vehicle is 20 years old...

If you can't afford an internet service then don't have one... libraries do, just go to the library if you need to avail yourself of such services for free..

Excessive debt for the unnecessary is unnecessary... you find that many of the things you need, aren't real needs at all
There is a book, “The Millionaire Next Door.” Some wealthy people live in working class neighborhoods. Warren Buffett is a billionaire. He used to keep his car for ten years before buying a new one. My brother traded his after 3 or 4 years to buy an American made brand. He is not poor as he got a master’s degree. Studying investments paid off for some. Working two jobs and 70 hours a week was a way to get income, if not a broken back. Learning a profitable skill or trade may increase your net worth more than owning a gold ingot. If you do not move every five years, buying a home may be a hedge against inflation depending on the economics of owning a home at that time and location. Trying to follow fashion trends impoverished a lady I met. She had stacks of clothes, shoes and accessories she hoarded. She had to give up her apartment and move in with her divorced sister. Sharing increases wealth.

Giving to the right charities might increase your self confidence more than a string of pearls.

In fact, this is so, poverty can be in different forms of its manifestation. Some people often save so much that they live on this border. But there are even articles with life hacks on how to properly emmadrew.info/how-to-control-your-budget-to-avoid-poverty-problems/ to manage your budget. Thus, you will keep your monetary opportunities under control. I am sure everything will be fine after reading this article.

I think it’s wrong. Poverty is not a mindset. The rich are hoarding all their money and not sharing with anyone. That’s what creates poverty.
You know if I work my but off and make millions of dollars its not my job to take care of someone who is mentally able to get there education and physically able to work. I have know problem helping someone who is down on there luck, or the handicapped, elderly, or children. for
The rich are hoarding all their money and not sharing with anyone.
I am not required to share a thing with you or anyone else. I chose to help but your answer comes off like I or others are required to spend the money we earn because we chose to get a education, and work a job until were in a good place financially.

Your category 2 also includes those who don't own an expensive car, have one internet provider and one tv provider, one tv and one computer, an Obamaphone, but they can't give up internet and tv, they buy food that goes bad before they eat it, their car is a piece of junk and they can't afford to fix it because they won't prepare for what they well know is going to happen eventually. If they can't pay the rent they are still going to buy alcohol and cigarettes.

This country is already more socialistic than it should be. It is not right for those who risk money and effort to invest by paying for an education and make other investments, are careful with their money, work hard and hope to make things better for their loved ones, to be forced to be generous to total strangers who are not responsible with their money, and to an already obscenely bloated government, and congressmen and lawyers and lobbyists and government-supported corporations and to Iran or other sworn enemies of our country.
