Seems like this is the kinds like the US Open when it comes to disc golf. If I understand it right, it's 5 days, 5 rounds, split between a couple of different courses, and it's something the best players have been aiming for all year.

The first round was Wednesday. Several different companies are following groups as they play. Here is some of the coverage. Sorry, you may only see half a round, some kind of strange restriction here, I guess.

Jomez Pro, Round 1, Front 9: Wysocki, Lizotte, Stoor, Patton

Central Coast, Round 1, Part 1: Kajiyami, McBeth, Jones, Bell

DynamicDiscs, Round 1, Front 9: Schultz, Risley, Earhart, Dickerson

SmashBoxxTV, recording of their live coverage of the group featuring Barsby, Johansen, Makela, McMahon

Should be a good tournament, so sit back and enjoy.

Thanks or posting this. I haven't done much golfing in decades, since before there were dedicated golf discs and we all used the same Wham-O 165g E-mold that we used for Freestyle and Ultimate. My muscle memory and advancing age (and my lack of dedication) makes it about impossible for me to use anything faster than a midrange driver; I can't generate the speed necessary for the long range discs and they seem to require a lot of english. So on the rare occasion that I get out I use a putter for about everything.

I work with a crew of younger folks and some of them gave been golfing, so perhaps I'll invite myself along when the weather changes. There are a few decent courses here in SE Michigan, the closest being a fairly technical one at Kensington Metropark.

About fifteen years ago I was using the first golf disc I ever bought, a pink Innova Aviar. Some guy saw it and said "You're USING that? It's a collector's item! Put it away!!" He acted like it was a Pluto Platter, so it's been on the shelf ever since.

I'm still angry at whoever it was that stole my original maroon and gold HDX. When did I buy that... '79 or '80? Pretty sure it was the original HDX.

Holy mackeral, that's an incredible level of play! MAN, those guys are good!!
Yeah, they are good.

I've been playing a few years. Not really all that good at it. Distance, especially, is a problem for me. But it's nice to get out and throw.
