I believe that Christ forgives me of sin, but until I'm no longer flesh I am incapable of being completely in tune with God's will. I believe we all struggle against the flesh and against sin, but nobody is immune to sinning itself.

I know that is what you've been taught. But it is not what the Bible actually teaches. The life of the Spirit FREES ME from the law of sin and death. That is not after you die, but now. If you have the Spirit, you are NOT IN THE FLESH, but in the Spirit. That is not after you die, but now. You must start telling yourself the TRUTH. In Romans 6, Paul says a fact. We are dead to sin. But he also tells us that we must tell ourselves that TRUTH. We must reckon ourselves dead to sin. If you keep telling yourself that you are a sinner, you will be. But if you tell yourself the truth that you are a child of God and cannot sin, that will be your truth.

I think he would agree with you. So why can't you agree with him?
I think I do agree with him. I can’t say that I heard anything that I disagreed with but I may have missed something. Only the Word of God is 100% trustworthy. Anything that man generally touches has a problem from the beginning unless God is carrying you. It sounds like you agree with the video and so I would like to know what your thoughts are. I must stress that being born again is essential. My experience was the single most terrifying experience in my life. Early in my visitation from Christ, I was suspended over the lake of fire. That was not the aforementioned experience that was most terrifying just to put it into perspective. I was of a sound mind and clear head when walking out of our bedroom one Friday night almost exactly 30 years ago. I was suddenly suspended over the lake of fire. I’m a retired mechanical engineer and was the executive Vice President of a semi large defense contacting company when I retired. I only add that bit of nonsense to prove my clarity. No way I had ever had a vision before that. Telling someone that Christ spoke directly with you might cause some strained eyes and ears from the listener. Christ Spoke to me a great deal in the beginning. I believe that today He is always with me and He will always Tell the truth. Again, where are you in your Christian walk?

Here is a video that claims that you can:

If you must stop sinning to go to heaven, why does scripture say that our sins are no longer being counted against us and there is no longer any sacrifice for sin? This is just legalism, sorry. You can attempt it all you want, but you will only end up in more sin and feeling God, and others believing like this, are disgusted with you. You will never be able to rest or experience His unconditional love.

Luke 18:18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. 20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

Luke 18 simply says
18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
What you meant to quote was Luke 18:19

Jesus was talking to a fellow Jew who like Jesus was under the law, the entire law, not just the Ten Commandments. Jesus had not yet died for our sins and the New Covenant was not yet in place.

No where there does Jesus say "Follow the ten commandments and you will be saved"
Even to this Jewish man under the law he didn't say that.

22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.

We are under the New Covent because Jesus died and took our sins.
No one is saved by following the law or the ten commandments. We are saved by faith.
Romans 3:28
For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Galatians 2:16
know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

Same as you it seems. The night I was filled with the Spirit the same thing happened to me except that it was a different vision, but a vision nonetheless. I was in a large field with tiny buildings on the horizone (for perspecitive, I imagine.) Anyway there was this huge glass pipe or silo that went from the ground into the clouds and I could see a huge clog about half-way up. It was moving, and I looked closer and it was a huge nest of snakes. I knew it was my sin that was preventing God sending blessings to me. It was then that I truly repented and He spoke again, about 8 sentences. I wasn't scared or terrified, but I was amazed. And I felt the Spirit all through me and lifted all the heaviness I had been bearing. And the next day I noticed I had no more desire to sin anymore, and I was so in love with Jesus I couldn't shut up. I had to tell everyone! That was February 9, 1977 around 8 pm.

If you are quoting Romans around chapter 3 to 5 you are in the middle of a longer teaching and don't have the full context of Paul's lesson.

Don't be deceived. He who sins is a slave to sin, and will not inherit eternal life with the Father. But you can't stop sinning on your own. You must humble yourself and turn your weakness for sin over to Jesus and tell Him you really want to be righteous, and stop sinning and follow Him, but you can't. That is when, and only when, He will impart to you His own sinless all-powerful Spirit to you to walk in. His spirit is the seed of the Father. (That is one of the semantic changes I would make to the video - He said Word of God. But without the Spirit you may not know what the Bible means.)

Did you also want to give away everything that you had? I went through a great deal of training for lack of a better word. One huge miracle that happened among many was an answer to my heavily felt need for someone who understood what I was going through. As it turned out, we had a neighbor for around 8 years that I had never to my knowledge ever seen before. One Saturday morning as I now recall, I had committed to taking our young son across the street to play basketball at the elementary school. Our neighbor was doing the same thing with his young son. Somehow I was able to share a small amount of what was going on. He was great! He had gone through what I was in the middle of going through about 10 years earlier. He was the principal of the big Baptist school in Baton Rouge at the time. In his vision as I recall, he was suspended in the bottomless pit. What has been so amazing is how perfectly his testimony aligns with mine. We have shared small details that match up perfectly. I absolutely knew what was happening when my eyes were opened. My old Bible was opened to me. I could See The Word in Truth. That Spiritual clarity has only improved. Christ will always tell The Truth and His sheep will only respond to His Voice. GREAT POST! I should add that he lives several states away but over these last 30 years we have stayed in contact.

I agree in that as long as we are still in the flesh the threat of sin is ever present. Christ always protects me but if I put myself in temptations way then I’m not being faithful.

To be dead to sin and free from sin is to never make "mistakes"
Can you do that? I'm incapable of never being in error.

It is so great finally having someone on these forums that can relate to me, and doesn't think I'm a liar. God is real, and He didn't go on vacation to Mars when the Bible was compiled. He watches over His Word to perform it for those who love Him and abide in Him. What is great is that 100% of my prayers are now answered. For the first 30 years of going to church before finally being filled with the Spirit that night in '77, I never had one prayer answered. But from the time He filled me with Himself, I can hear His voice very clearly, and have learned to never pray my own will, but to just keep listening and He tells me what to pray for, and it is answered, sometimes within seconds. Who in the world would want to sin and break up such a great marriage! The Spirit always leads me away from temptations so you never even have to repent. He convicts before you sin, not after.

Its a very interesting story when Jesus met the
Luke 18 simply says
18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
What you meant to quote was Luke 18:19

Jesus was talking to a fellow Jew who like Jesus was under the law, the entire law, not just the Ten Commandments. Jesus had not yet died for our sins and the New Covenant was not yet in place.

.
It is a very interesting story when Jesus met the rich young man isn't it. He thought he had obeyed the ten commandments. So he thought he had not committed sin you might say. He was blinded to the truth, as many are today

no I believe in free will, and that free will is a big part of, if not the main cause for sin, when we choose our will over God's.

He totally carries us. I would be living in sin were it not for the protection afforded me through Christ. When I was being taught about the hedge of protection Christ gives, it was very unpleasant. However, it was perfect of course. I recall sharing the maybe 3 week experience with the Christian Brother I was telling you about. The Lord would pull back causing me to pray earnestly. The point of the training was so I would never forget the protection he was giving me. It feels like a squeeze. Anyway this went on like 50 times a day. When I was sharing this with the Christian Brother, he said it happened more like 100 times a day. Anyway after a time, I no longer sensed this ongoing protection. However, for about maybe 20 years He would remind me by giving me that squeeze feeling. I felt that something very bad was trying to get at me but He was totally protecting me. You might get great joy by reading something that you may have already read but not with your new eyes. When Christ Spoke to Peter and Said “and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren”. This verse is very powerful. Once Peter was born again, he was no longer in the danger and was able to strengthen his brethren. The first mention of the visitation can be found in Numbers 16:26. Please read the entire story surrounding that verse. Because of Christ in your life, I think you will understand it. Please get back to me via private message if necessary.

Luke.22
  1. [32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

  2. God always answers my prayers as well but like you said I must always ask for His Will to be done. I learned that lesson the hard way as well. That testimony can stand alone on just that one teaching.

Most Christians in my experience speak against many of the words of Jesus Christ, and even certain portions of the writings of their followers. Sure, they may get some doctrines correct (Like the Trinity, Sola Scriptura, etc.), and they may say they accept all of Scripture, but it as if they are reading an entirely different Bible that is non-existent, and they cannot see the very verses before their faces in what it plainly says. Take for example John 14:15. Do folks here honestly believe this verse plainly? Do they really believe that loving Jesus is to keep His commandments? No. Not in my experience. Most Christians I have encountered try to speak against this verse. It does not line up with the more comfortable way of salvation that they know. So out goes the door with these words in John 14:15. Why? The Parable of the Sower. One has to receive the Word (i.e. Verses in Scripture) into their heart in order to believe them. If we do not believe certain verses, they will be taken out by the enemy (Especially if we speak against those verses in what they plainly say).

When I was literally allowed to ask for anything in The Name of Christ, it only lasted for about one night. I went to bed and the next morning ready to start my training and I asked for prophesy. The Lord showed me my future and it was so horrible that I could not bear it for long. While I stood there He pulled it back and Spoke audibly to me and Said “be careful what you ask for”. To which I begged for His Will to be done and no matter what in the future I wanted His Will not mine. The experience was especially difficult and not something that I think I will ever forget. The judgement must first begin at the house of God.

Yes, we have free will, but when born again with a new nature, our will wants righteousness. You would really have to go against your own will to sin. Why do that when you don't have to?

God treats every one of us individually according to what is best for us. I just grew happier and happier and had such an unquenchable thirst for every sermon and tape. There have been lulls, but it always came back strong. What is sad is I only know of less than the fingers on one hand of people that have had our experience. I'm actually writing a book that will have all my testimonies of miracles in the last 43 years. You know the story of Jesus turning water into wine. Well, I had that same experience. Not me doing it, but His Spirit. And not wine but something else. I really need to get that book published. The publisher is waiting patiently for it. And you know how Paul would go to a new area and his first sermon would be his testimony. That's all I do to get someone's attention (fellow workers); but now I'm retired. So the internet is now my field, but the unbelief and scoffing is like talking on an atheist forum! It makes me VERY concerned for the Church. It is nominal, lukewarm Christians that will be the targets in the Great Tribulation. God wants either hot or cold Christians - on fire and bold for Him, or refreshing like an ice cold glass of lemonade on a sweltering day, and not the vomit that most of the Church has become (letter to Laodecia Rev. 3).

Yes, I understand that also. Looking back on my marriage, I believe God was checking my spirit the whole time we were dating. I married him anyway because he was a Spirit-filled Christian. Unfortunately within a month I had him in Christian counseling. He was a mess from his childhood. Now I tell young people or anyone wanting to get married to have at least a two year engagement, not six months or less. Know what you are getting into! My marriage turned into 13 years of abuse. And as he drew farther and farther away from God, I drew closer and closer. Even though we were both Spirit-filled, our backgrounds were at opposite poles. That is also being unequally yoked. I remember telling God, I know you hate divorce, so I am staying and even if he kills me I'm not sinning against you by leaving. I now know the meaning of the verse that Jesus learned obedience by the things he suffered. When I made that commitment to God, it wasn't long until he left me for the wife of his best friend, and I was free. That was in 2001 and he is still the last man I kissed as I don't want to do anything outside God's will. Besides God makes a much better Husband.

I know of only 4 others that I have met that went through the real born again experience. I must also say that I have diligently searched for others over the years. Christ was made of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord.
Isa.11
  1. [3] And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
  2. Rev.2 Verses 27 to 28

    1. [27] And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

I very much understand what your talking about. As to books, there is only God’s Word. Have you read the book “Like a Mighty Wind” about the Indonesian Revival. The first book was written in the 1960’s and they were walking on water god was changing water to wine and even bringing the dead back to life. These miracles should be happening all around us.
