I have been wondering about the homeless people in this country myself, and if the stimulus aid would be benefiting them as well. But something else has crossed my mind, something maybe others haven't even considered. All of these illegals that have been coming to our country and stealing our jobs for decades, maybe they are finally going to regret having come here and done that if these lock downs become nationwide. They are obviously not American citizens if they are here illegally. The stimulus aid is for American citizens, apparently. If these lock downs go on for months, what happens to these millions and millions of illegals in the meantime, since they too, would have to stay at home, thus no jobs for them either? And they can't draw unemployment either, right?

none of that is the topic of this thread. Please open a thread on it and not derail this one. Thank you.

If you want to be that unfriendly in times like this, not only will I stay out of this thread, I will stay out of any thread you start from now on. Problem solved. I'm simply the type of person where one thing might make me think of another thing, thus I apparently wrongly thought it might be related to the topic to some degree. Stupid me I guess. But anyway I won't be posting in any more of your threads from now on. Problem solved for both of us.

Will the left give them the same treatment Chris Christie got for hugging Obama after Sandy?

If only the President would quit making it political. For example, in his most recent press conference, about a relief package to help people suffering from Coronavirus, he chastised Democrats, saying Republicans are ready to pass one. He completely ignores that both sides are ready to pass packages -- just that the Democratic plan is aimed more at individuals, whereas the Republican package is aimed more at helping businesses.

And this is just one example. The fact remains, the President is the one who is politicizing this more than anyone -- though he does have kind words (as always) for those that say nice things about him. Which merely points out the main reasons why those governors said nice things -- because they desperately are needing help for their states -- because, with Trump in office, they know the only way to get the help then need from the federal government is to flatter Trump.

Perhaps it is time to put political partisanship aside and pull together.

They are

Do you have any examples of republicans thanking democrats? Any evidence of republicans also showing signs of unity? Or is it just the democrats doing this?

It looks like it is the Democrats who are playing politics now. Good thing that lives are not hanging in the balance.

Senate fails to advance coronavirus rescue package

I'd argue you get one chance to do this right. If part of this package is a weakly regulated $500 million slush fund companies can use for share buy back and other equally psychotic capitalist things they absolutely would do given the chance, then you are better off getting said package fixed
