Hey all, may Jesus shine his everlasting light on you.

Recently, I saw this post by Sister Sharon, also known as MotivatingU2Win. She has this video:

What are your thoughts? Is "Only Believing In Christ" a false doctrine?

How do you believe we attain salvation?

How do we become totally sinless?

I'm praying for you all,

It would be nice to think that we only have to believe to be saved. Many say that Scripture teaches such, especially in Paul's letters. However, Jesus warned in Matthew that many will call him "Lord", but unless they show mercy to the hungry and the homeless, they will not be saved.

Where I am right now, most of the places are shut down. There are no opportunities to help the hungry and homeless. I also cannot work for certain reasons. From where I saw, there are pretty much no homeless where I am. How can I help the homeless if everywhere is shut down?

Blessings,

There are numerous Christian relief agencies. Choose one of them and they will help as soon as they can and there may be places in the world where they can help immediately. Most of them provide assistance worldwide and not just in North America.

It's simple, according to the bible: just believe the Lord to obey Him, and you will be saved, John 3:36.

He is the author of eternal salvation unto all who obey Him, Hebrews 5:9.

This is not a mystery folks: if the Lord says you must do the things He tells you to do, and you don't, then how, pray-tell, is He your Lord?

You can pray for the homeless and others.

There are also Christian ministries which serve those communities to whom you can donate.

One of these is World Vision, which ministers to children overseas. They are respectful and appreciative of your support.

Yes, very true. I am sure that when Jesus referred specifically to the hungry and homeless and those in prison, others in need were not excluded.

Pretty clear evidence that thinking thoughts in your head is not at all enough.

15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

Matthew 25:31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ 37 "Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give youprison and you did not look after me.’ 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 "The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ 41 "Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44 Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto one of these least, ye did it not unto me. 46 And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.

They will still need donations. Charities are also losing money during these closures. You can help lessen the impact it will have on them long-term.

And if you have face masks you won't need, some hospitals are really needing them right now - any type.
It's simple, according to the bible: just believe the Lord to obey Him, and you will be saved, John 3:36.

Yet if it was only believing, how come we see people who believe everything about Jesus but from all appearances and actions have no relationship with Him? This describes someone I know and it's frustrating. We go from talking about praying to Jesus and his omnipresence, to suddenly he's comparing prayer to sex because "You never forget how to do it!". Perhaps he's just still on milk and living in ignorance of the Word, but I just wonder sometimes.

Welcome! Believe in His truth and receive His Holy Spirit. If we walk in His Holy Spirit we remain in Him. If we "quench" the Holy Spirit then we walk in darkness. We can not do it ourselves. The Holy Spirit is our Comforter. Sin has no power over us if we walk in His Holy Spirit. Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit in our life.
We believe in the truth first, Jesus Christ of Nazareth then He gives us His Holy Spirit which regenerates us. Our works are the fruit of the Holy Spirit and not by our efforts to conform. Only one came into this world and then out of this world sinless, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Be blessed.

Point one: She is comparing salvation to being employees of a company, but the bible says we are heirs of the company, not regular employees.

I think the youtube bible attitude emulates Martha, but Jesus indicated Mary had a better understanding. Because of this, there are a number of logical fallacies predictable. Futhermore, she was difficult to listen to, since she projects her controlfreakism into her teaching.

"The righteous shall live by faith"

I think what she's missing is that we need to be born again to be saved, someone who is not born again, yet repents will not be saved.

In order to be born again, we need to believe. Through faith, we produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit. As Jesus said, it is our work to trust in Him.

As Jesus said, we need to clean the cup on the inside first, and when the cup is overflowing - the outside will be made clean also.

There are many ways to help others. Make a phone call to someone who is lonely. Write a letter. Just think of ways you can be useful. It sounds like you want to help. That is the right attitude.

The bible also gives us instructions on how to become heirs.

"The righteous shall live by faith"

Which James says cannot save a person unless it is accompanied by the works God requires.

I think what she's missing is that we need to be born again to be saved, someone who is not born again, yet repents will not be saved.

She read the command that causes us to be born again. She gets it.

In order to be born again, we need to believe. Through faith, we produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit. As Jesus said, it is our work to trust in Him.

And if you don't do what he asks of you, how is that trust?

As Jesus said, we need to clean the cup on the inside first, and when the cup is overflowing - the outside will be made clean also.

And remission of sins, which is made effective by his sacrifice, is accomplished by what?
