It does make one wonder that the people who died from this were already predisposed to being vulnerable to dying from it, etc...?

What about the ones who survived it, etc? I'm no expert on this, not hardly at all, but since there is or was no vaccine or cure or even effective treatment, didn't the survivors bodies have to fight it on their own or develop "antibodies", etc, in their bodies, etc? and couldn't some of those natural antibodies be used to maybe develop or find some kind or cure or vaccine or something?

I'm no expert, but I thought that was the way it worked, etc?

Or am I wrong about this, etc? Cause like I said, I'm very, very far away from being an expert on these kinds of things, etc?

God Bless!
Yes, you are right. It can work and some people are working on it. This method was used a century ago to treat people.

Though I shudder to imagine that the rich and powerful will live like vampires at the expense of the rest.

Trump's response to the coronavirus has been nearly flawless. Yet the idealogs continue to invent fallacious arguments to desperately try to politicize it.
Yep, they will pick at any loose end trying to pull on it until they can create something that wasn't there in the first place.

This is not a situation that any leader of any country is going to go through without criticism. There are always people who think that the leader should have done something else... Their the armchair experts and always the most vocal.

I've said this before, the leaders of our countries are not experts in any of this. Not in medical issues, not in military issues, not in financial issues, not in anything...

SO... they have consultants and experts that meet and decide the actions that the government will take... Then, they get hammered by those who disagree and think that these people are making these decisions on their own.

Trump..... he's going to get ridiculed even if he found a cure.... they would say it took too long.

I think you are right. Some people are not as strong or don't have the immune system to deal with things like this. Some others are stronger or their infection isn't as extensive for some reason.

I do think that the WHO dropped the ball on this. Nobody took it as serious as they should have.

The first second that this was found out.... All countries should have refused any travel from China.. bar none.. If they had citizens of their country there... just put them up in hotels and pay for their stay.. Would have been a lot cheaper and contained it..

But... nope... Planes flying out of China, people traveling by land... Now look.

The crisis being our lack of preparedness and action in the face of the pandemic. The disease is a disease, it's going to spread when it can. I don't blame Trump for the virus. I blame him for spending from January till now telling us how under control he has it while at the same time making light of it, politicizing it, calling it a hoax, saying it's no worse than any other flu, etc.

Meanwhile it took the leadership of some governors to take initiative and action which is helping us. And he is failing them. I just had to listen to my state's governor tell what the state will do and what they will supply and what he hopes to get from the Feds (which we haven't yet gotten).

Trump's too busy trying to blame China, calling it "Chinese virus" and playing his same old stupid politics, while governors (mostly democrats as it so happens) are doing valuable work to help fight the disease.

Read the articles in the OP, they explain it well.
Firstly..... it is "the China Virus".. It started in China... it's logical to call it that.. not "racist"... Stop being so sensitive. Don't they still say "the Spanish Flu"?

You are a proclaimed Liberal... You had your eight years.... the Republicans didn't spend 100% of their time trying to get rid of Obama... Yet... if it's a cloudy day it's Trumps fault.

Secondly, no country has handled this very well... Look at Italy..

This is not something anyone was prepared for... We can blame all day long.... Trump is just the pinata that only Left handed people swing at.

How Trump changed his tune on coronavirus again and again … and again

He poo-pooed the notion of this being serious, he joked about it, he politicized it to attack democrats and the media, and it has exposed his lack of competence.

Not even 2 weeks ago, Trump tweeted:
“So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu,” he tweeted. “It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!”

Think about THAT!

The sick joke of Donald Trump's presidency isn't funny any more | Richard Wolffe
The WHO criticized him for being cavalier when he closed the border to the Kung-Flu so early on. Imagine how much worse conditions would be if he had cowed to your criticism back then.

What pernicious and obvious lie?
The existence of a killer virus. It's a dumb hoax that's grown up to be a sinister farce.
Don't you DARE to presume to answer for me, especially if you're going to post that kind of absurd, alternate-universe nonsense.

The pernicious, obvious lie I was referring to was the one that I responded to: that Trump said that the virus was a hoax. He said no such thing, and it's a blatant lie to say otherwise.

Errrm.......do you have any evidence for this claim?
Evidence from the NY Times :Trump Administration Restricts Entry Into U.S. From China Published Jan. 31, 2020

"Moving to counter the spreading coronavirus outbreak, the Trump administration said Friday that it would bar entry by most foreign nationals who had recently visited China and put some American travelers under a quarantine as it declared a rare public health emergency."
...

"On Thursday, the State Department raised its travel advisory to Level 4 — “Do not travel” — a rating reserved for situations in which the government expects to have very limited ability to help citizens abroad. The World Health Organization declared a global health emergency because of the spreading virus, though it opposed restrictions on travel or trade with China."...

"In addition to the restrictions on foreign nationals traveling from China, the United States will begin funneling all flights from China to just a few airports, including Kennedy International in New York, O’Hare in Chicago and San Francisco International.

Officials said any American citizen returning to the United States from the Hubei Province in China, where the outbreak is centered, would be subject to up to 14 days of mandatory quarantine. Any American returning to the country who has visited the rest of mainland China within the last 14 days will undergo proactive health screening at selective ports of entry.

The government also imposed a two-week quarantine on 195 people who were evacuated on Wednesday from Wuhan, China, to a California military base."

No the sky is not falling ppl, and fellow Xtians, do pls try to use the insight that God has given us.
Asked in a letter how to respond during the Plague, Martin Luther replied,

I shall ask God mercifully to protect us. Then I shall fumigate, help purify the air, administer medicine and take it. I shall avoid places and persons where my presence is not needed in order not to become contaminated and thus perchance inflict and pollute others and so cause their death as a result of my negligence.
If God should wish to take me, he will surely find me and I have done what he has expected of me and so I am not responsible for either my own death or the death of others. If my neighbor needs me, however, I shall not avoid place or person but will go freely as stated above. See this is such a God-fearing faith because it is neither brash nor foolhardy and does not tempt God.

I read a commentary by an American who immigrated from China. His informed commentary is that the Chinese Communist Government is absolutely at fault here. Not the Chinese people, the communist party. He said they are culturally arrogant and deceptive and because of that this disease was created in China in the Wet Markets as have other viral diseases, and then got spread around the world. The covering up of this disease in China for nearly 2 months by the communist party is some of the problem. The only way to attempt to change that reality, he said, is to confront the Chinese Communist Party and cause them to lose face and continue to look them in the eye and tell them that they have lost face. One way to do that is to call this disease what it properly is...The Wuhan Virus or the China Virus.

Show me the proof of id of the dna. Show me any fatality who didn't have serious pre-existing underlying conditions. Show me proof the alleged virus was rampant in their systems as at the time of death. Explain the bug's predilection for Hellywood actors and politicians lol? Starship Troopers, anyone?

And now - crockdowns everywhere in case someone catches a cold. No the sky is not falling ppl, and fellow Xtians, do pls try to use the insight that God has given us.
Wow! Proof that denial ain't just a river in Egypt...

Any others agree with Shrewd Manager? We know now what he and chilehed believe... Amazing.

I am sitting here watch Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressing the nation in what has become a daily routine. Compared to the style of President Donald Trump it is refreshing to see a leader who is transparent, supportive and compassionate and totally without bluster and obfuscation.

Cavalier is the keyword regardless of when it was said or by whom. Everyone knows he's cavalier. It's why many voted for him. Even now, it is why many from the left are applauding his response to this pandemic.

So you're saying that Trump either lied or was incompetent when he assured us that he had worked with the Chinese government in January and that everything was fine??? Thanks for admitting Trump failed, that's what I've been saying all along - thanks for helping prove it.

To back you up, here's what Trump said that was so, so wrong, with his cavalier attitude, praising China's government (that can't be trusted but Trump can't even understand that), claiming it's no problem...

"Two months ago, as the world knows, Trump was praising China’s government for its handling of the coronavirus outbreak, while downplaying the severity of the threat to the United States. “We have it totally under control,” he said in an interview to CNBC on Jan. 22. “It’s one person coming in from China and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.” For good measure, he said it again on Twitter: “China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!

Now, of course, Trump simultaneously denies that anyone could have known about the pandemic (“I would view it as something that just surprised the whole world”) and claims to have predicted the extent of the disaster (“This is a pandemic. I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic”). Similarly, he’s moved from praising President Xi Jinping’s government to attacking it. He’s also changed the language he uses to describe the pathogen that causes Covid-19. After weeks of saying “coronavirus,” he now calls it the “Chinese virus.”"

Opinion | Don’t Let Trump Off the Hook

Trump isn't afraid for anyone's life. Trump took this lightly with a cavalier attitude until just about 2 weeks ago when the markets tanked - that's what motivates and scares Trump, the market. Everything he cares about is the market, not people. He doesn't understand the connection between the people and the market so he screwed this whole thing up. Everybody notices.

He should be eternally grateful to Governor Cuomo for leading the nation on this while he sits there befuddled, floundering and failing. Cuomo should be made president just for this alone.

Firstly..... it is "the China Virus".. It started in China... it's logical to call it that.. not "racist"... Stop being so sensitive. Don't they still say "the Spanish Flu"?
Forget about the racist aspect - the real reason he does it is his lame attempt to shift the blame away from himself for his failure in handling this crisis. People are dying because of him and more will die because of him.

You are a proclaimed Liberal... You had your eight years.... the Republicans didn't spend 100% of their time trying to get rid of Obama... Yet... if it's a cloudy day it's Trumps fault.
Proof that you think this is a political issue and that your mentality is that this is all about Trump. Proof that people put Trump first above everything and everyone else.

Secondly, no country has handled this very well... Look at Italy..
Oh so then it's OK that Trump is a failure also - gotcha. That's acceptable to you, got it.

This is not something anyone was prepared for... We can blame all day long.... Trump is just the pinata that only Left handed people swing at.
I don't blame him for the crisis or the virus itself; I blame him for failing to be a leader, for ignoring the danger of this, for joking and making light of it for 2 months, for lying to us at the outset (OR for being so naive as to trust China which he now blasts as untrustworthy - isn't that his job to know that from the start? Is he incompetent??? [Yes]).

He only got serious about this when the market tanked, not when the cases and deaths started to climb. He doesn't care about people's lives, he only cares about the markets. Now he's starting to see that people's lives affect the markets so he's starting to "care" only in that sense. His precious god, the market, is dying in his inept hands and he's floundering. Governor Cuomo is doing his job for him and instructing him what to do and he still can't even come through to help the nation. What's he waiting for? Why is he not demanding companies to make supplies? Why is he not rationing those supplies based on need and instead allowing for price gouging and competition between the states??? Because he's foolish and incompetent, basically. He needs Cuomo to get on TV and tell him what to do and he still can't even come through.

(FYI - Cuomo is a "governor", that is the leader of one "state". Cuomo is the "governor" of a large state in the US called "New York", which is the epicenter of the crisis.)

What plane do you live on? Those on the left are not applauding him, they are leading him and telling him what to do because he's incompetent. If you voted for him because he's cavalier then you're beyond hope. His cavalier attitude is causing people to die. If there's any justice then it should affect those who like that about him, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way.
