There is a simple way to recognize the devil when we see him on earth, but allow me a bit of housekeeping before we get into that. As it is written, no one knows the day or the hour or the time or the seasons when this flesh age will come to a screeching halt, including me. That is said for the scripture lawyers who like to diminish anything anyone else has to say about the Holy Bible. Sadly, there is professional jealousy among the clergy and the so-called Bible scholars. Fortunately, I’m neither of those, just a humble servant trying to do the will of our Heavenly Father. That said, the Bible identifies our generation as the final generation of mankind in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to: Prophecy, Time and Current Events.

There is no doubt in your servant’s mind that we are fast approaching the time appointed. Time appointed? Yes, our Heavenly Father has determined the times before appointed for all aspects of this earth age, the flesh age. As He told His beloved prophet Daniel, for at the time appointed the end shall be. There is a time appointed for the end to come, and when we start looking at current events (Arab Spring or a Pandemic, for instance), and time and prophecy from the Bible, I think you will agree the time is now for this age to end. Of course, you may be stubborn and want to listen to old sages like Yogi Berra, who said, “It ain’t over till it’s over!” I prefer to listen to the Byrds, an old 1960’s rock & roll group, who sang:

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Ecclesiastes 3.1

The point is, our Heavenly Father determined when this flesh age was to end before it ever began. Naturally, we are not to know that date. Why not? There are a variety of reasons, but mainly because the end is determined to be a surprise on mankind. What if the Bible had a verse stating, “The world will end in 2092.” Can you imagine the sheer panic, and increased faith, of those living in 2091? What if we lived in 1790? Many would not care, thinking the end of the world is still 200 years away.

Let me also state that there have been doomsday nuts in every generation. In the 30’s & 40’s they walked up and down Madison Ave. with a placard on their back stating, “The end is near!” More recently we have had theologians stating the end is coming on such and such a date, and then nothing happened. Or we have had the Y2K scare or the Mayan calendar countdown. The Holy Bible is the only source for any truth on this subject and the best it tells us is the generation when the end is to come; our generation. Again, the point is, our lives, our civilizations, this world, is on a countdown to the end, and our Heavenly Father is the Timekeeper.

I think this present crisis is a wake up call. Not a call to deal with the next one in a more reasoned and orderly manner, but possibly a preview of what's to come... panic and chaos on a scale that will virtually destroy the social order of mankind.

We've certainly got a shot over the bow going on to look up and pray. I'll grant you that. And many theological scholars have felt for a while now something is up, even some Jewish leaders. The times are a changing. The trouble is in dealing with God His time is not our time. We're talking about someone who defines years as weeks and generations in centuries. The world has been in turmoil since the fall in the garden all the way up into this present church age. It's possible the cut off date approaches, only the Father knows the actual time.

I hope you are correct OWG. We will have to assess the fallout from this current pandemic. It will be interesting to watch world events unfold. I have been awake for quite some time! I keep thinking how much God loves the world that He gives warning after warning. I feel strangely at peace. I am a nurse and have asthma and old age:wave:I have been asked to go out into the community and give infusions so patients can stay home. I will go with 1 mask, 1 gown, 1 pair of gloves and my Savior!

This is an excerpt from my website that I thought you might enjoy.
I looked at your website. You say much, but deliver little.

Here is an article from my website:
Jeremiah 25:30-38 The Lord roars from on high. He thunders from His holy place. He roars loudly against His holy Land and like a grape treader, He shouts against all the inhabitants of the earth. The great noise is heard around the world. For the Lord brings His judgement against the nations, He arraigns all mankind and hands over the wicked and godless to the sword.

The Lord says, ‘Disaster spreads from nation to nation, a mighty tempest is unleashed, that will blast to every corner of the world’. Those whom the Lord has killed on that Day will be strewn from one end of the earth to the other, they will not be mourned or buried, but left as dung upon the ground.
Cry out you bad shepherds and useless leaders of My people, the Day comes for your demise, you will fall like prize rams to the slaughter. There will be no escape from the Lord’s fierce anger, like a lion leaping to the kill.

Disaster will suddenly strike and their land will become desolate because of the fiery wrath of the Lord. Ref: REB, CJB.

It is now time to realize that this terrible, worldwide disaster is soon to happen.
In no way has this prophecy been fulfilled yet and this cannot be at the Return, as it must be before that: He thunders from His holy place…. He sends down fire… Amos 1 & 2:1-5, Psalms 18:13, Psalms 11:4-6, Revelation 6:12-17 and Revelation 14:17-20

Many other prophesies vividly describe this sudden and shocking, Day of the Lord’s wrath, a one day event: as fire from the sky, a Coronal Mass Ejection sun explosion, that will literally fulfill all of them. Psalms 83 tells how fire and tempest will destroy those attackers of Israel and details like ‘the sky rolled up like a scroll’, and the ‘moon blood red’, are also literal effects of a massive earth directed C M E. Isaiah 30:26-30, Isaiah 66:14-16, 2 Peter 3:7

The millions killed on that Day won’t be buried because there won’t be enough survivors to do that and the extreme heat of a CME and the fires caused by it, will reduce the dead to ashes. Malachi 4:3, Jeremiah 9:22

Those who have led the people astray with their false teachings, fictional books and poor leadership will be judged and punished on that Day. Micah 3:1-4, Isaiah 56:10-12

The world as we know it now, will not continue for much longer, prophecy is given to us as a warning of what will happen and for us to be Spiritually and physically prepared, so we can stay strong and keep trusting in the Lord to keep us safe, because He plans for the good of His own faithful Christian people. Jeremiah 29:11, Psalms 37:29

As all the faithful Christians gather and settle into all of the holy Land. Romans 9:24-26.....in the very place, [that ancient Israel was rejected] you Christians will be called the children of the Living God. Ezekiel 34:11-16, Isaiah 35

Colossians 1:11-12 In His glorious might may He give you ample strength to meet with fortitude and patience whatever comes and to give joyful thanks to the Father who has made you fit to share in the heritage of God’s people, in His Kingdom of Light.
The King will come later; for the Millennium. Revelation 19:11

Those are events reserved for the very end of this world, on the LAST DAY (2 Peter 3:10). That is when God's consuming fire is reserved for. And that is what the "day of the Lord" and His wrath on the 7th vial is about. That also is the day that Jesus comes to gather His Church.

Your unsupported opinion.

2 Peter 3:10 does refer, as does over 100 other prophesies; to the soon to happen Sixth Seal world wide disaster.
This verse says; The Day of the Lord will come like a thief…..
When Jesus Returns, on the last day of this era, He will be seen by all. His angels will gather those who have kept strong in their faith, through all that happens. Matthew 24:30-31

2 Peter 3:11 refers to the final re-making of the universe, that will happen after the Millennium. 2 Peter 3:1-13 is a sequence of events, the first of which will be a event similar in magnitude to Noah's Flood. As Paul tells us in 1 Thess 5:3-6; a sudden destruction.... by fire, as he says in 2 Thess 1:7-8 and as many other prophesies vividly describe.
As a Christian, you should not be in the dark about it.

As a Christian, you should not be in the dark about it.

Not so! 1 Thessalonians 4:14-5:9 declares: “if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming [Gr. parousia] of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain ‘shall be caught up’ [Gr. harpazō] together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.”
  • This is a picture of the one-and-only future second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • It’s shows the rescue, deliverance of God’s people.
  • It’s shows the total destruction - for those left behind. There are no survivors!
  • This is the end!
2 Peter 3:3-13 tells us: “there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming [Gr. parousia]? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”

1 Corinthians 15:12-14, 21-24, asking, “how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain…But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his [Gr. parousia]. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.”

Revelation 6:12-16 relates to the final destruction described in Isaiah 34 to the appearance of the Lord at the second Coming, where the wicked finally receive their reward. The sixth seal says, “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”
  • This is a picture of the one-and-only future second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • It’s shows the rescue, deliverance of God’s people.
  • It’s shows the total destruction - for those left behind. There are no survivors!
  • This is the end!
This passage, which is speaking of the exact same scene as 1 Thessalonians 4:14-5, asks a simple question: "who shall be able to stand?” This of course is a rhetorical question: meaning the answer is obvious. Well, it is obvious to those who don't have a theological agenda to impute into the text. No one that is left behind will survive the wrath of God that He pours out on the ungodly on this fateful final day. So rather than rewarding all those that attack Jerusalem by allowing them to inherit the new earth, Christ destroys them and their rebellion.

So as to remove any confusion over the full extent of those that will be destroyed who are left behind, the Holy Spirit says: "the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man." Obviously if a human isn't "free" they are "a bondman" (or a slave).

This reading correlates with Revelation 19 and graphically describes the same apocalyptic scene. It shows what awaits those left behind at Christ's Coming. The book of Revelation is like that. It is a recapitulation of events approaching the Second Coming and things that attend it. Here, when the reality of their awful doomed state finally hits them, the wicked hide from the One that has come to destroy. Like Noah and Lot's day, their day of opportunity is gone. Without exceptions, all outside the ark (Christ) at the catching away will be destroyed, whether bond or free.

Revelation 19:11-16 mirrors this passage, “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall shepherd them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Verses 17-18 says, “I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. The loipoy (or remaining ones) those left behind were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”

If you take this out of the Premil armory there is nothing left. The whole Premil doctrine hangs upon a thin frayed thread. It enjoys no other support in Scripture. It solely and exclusively depends on the correlation and chronology of the Rev 19-20, which clearly doesn't exist.

Is this just a 'cut and past', or do you really have the idea that I am a 'pre-trib rapture' believer?
I totally refute ANY 'rapture to heaven' for anyone. Excepting for the 2 Witnesses.

Your error is in believing that the Lord intends to destroy the world at His Return.
This idea is illogical as well as unscriptural.
When Jesus Returns, it will be in His glory, to reign over the people on earth for the next 1000 years. He does destroy the armies of the world at Armageddon and chains up Satan.

But the great and terrible Day of the Lord's fiery wrath, the Sixth Seal event, is a Day several years before the Return. Amos describes it:

Amos 5:8-9 He that made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns deep darkness into dawn and darkens day into night. He who summons the waters of the sea and pours them over the earth: Y’hovah is His Name. He makes destruction flash forth upon strongholds.

Amos 5:16-20 Calamity and misfortune will come to those who long for the Day of the Lord. What will that Day mean for you? It will be a Day of darkness, not light, it will be as when someone runs from a lion only to be confronted by a bear! Or to be bitten by a snake in one’s own house! The Day of the Lord will indeed be pitch black, without any ray of light.

Amos 8:7-10 The Lord has sworn by the arrogance of Jacob, I shall not forget their sin and apostasy. Will not the land quake because of this? Will not all who live in it mourn? The whole earth will surge and seethe like the Nile, then subside like the river of Egypt. On that Day, I will darken the world at noon time, all will mourn and lament on that bitter Day. Ref: REB, CJB.

those who long for the Day of the Lord’. ‘long for, or want’, may be better translated as: ‘bring on, or cause to happen’. This applies to the enemies of the Lord, as they strive to impose their political and religious agendas onto the world; their actions will ‘call forth His wrath’. Deut. 32:22 & 34-43, Ezekiel 7:14, Isaiah 24:1

Calamity and misfortune will come to them’. The Lord will ‘send fire’, Amos 1:4,7,10,12,14. Amos 2:2 & 5 I shall send fire on Judah, fire to consume the palaces of Jerusalem. That is: the State of Israel. But note that in Amos 2:6-16, all Israel, the Western nations, will be punished and their military destroyed. ‘He makes destruction flash forth onto the strongholds’. A Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun will literally fulfil all the prophesies of this Day: Isaiah 30:25-28, Jeremiah 50:22-23, Hosea 2:18, Micah 5:10-11, Zephaniah 1:16, Jeremiah 50:27

‘The whole earth will surge and subside, like the Nile’. Massive, worldwide earthquakes will be caused by the microwave penetration of the earth’s crust by this CME. Isaiah 24:18-19, Jeremiah 4:23-24, Revelation 6:14

‘He pours the waters of the sea over the earth’, As the earth ‘reels and shakes’, and is ‘moved from its place’, Isaiah 13:13, the lakes and oceans will move violently from side to side, causing huge tsunamis, that will engulf and devastate all the low-lying areas worldwide. Amos 9:6, Nahum 1:8, Jeremiah 51:42

The Day of the Lord, will be pitch black, at noontime. Zephaniah 2:4 also mentions noon day as the time of this terrible event. However the first sign we will see will be a flash of bright light, Isaiah 30:26, Job 36:32, Psalms 18:14. Then the great mass of superheated hydrogen plasma will obscure the sun, as it races toward earth. Isaiah 50:3, Ezekiel 32:7-8, Joel 2:1-2

‘Jacob’s arrogant and apostate descendants. They are the House of Judah – the Jewish people, and the House of Israel – the Western nations; they will all be punished on that Day. Ezekiel 21:1-16, Zechariah 13:7-9, Hosea 7:10, Hosea 8:14, Isaiah 1:25, 2 Peter 3:10, 2 Thess. 1:8

You are wrong.

The 2 Peter 3:10-12 verses are all about the SAME timing, the LAST DAY of this present world when God's consuming fire will destroy the rudiments of this present world age. The word "elements" isn't about earth matter, it means rudiments of the world, man's works. That is what happens on the "day of the Lord", and is the "sudden destruction" Paul taught in 1 Thess.5, which he got from the OT prophets.

In the 2 Peter 3:13 verse is where Peter is talking about the new heavens and a new earth, which will happen after Christ's future Millennium reign.

It seems that you are unable to read clearly my posts, because I agree with what you say here. It is what I say in #10.
But we differ in that I believe the Day of the Lord's fiery wrath is the Sixth Seal event, that will happen at least 7 years before Jesus Returns in glory. This is the sequence as given in Revelation and in Isaiah 61.
For what reason do you oppose this?

The actual 'last day' of this present world happens after the Millennium, Revelation 21:1-7, as 2 Peter 3:11-13 tells us. But verse's 7, 9-10 refer to the Sixth Seal, the Day the Lord comes unexpectedly.

Well, the latter part of the 6th Seal... is... the "day of the Lord". Just because it doesn't say 7th Seal doesn't mean it has be prior to Jesus' 2nd coming. The "day of the Lord" happens at the same 'moment' when all eyes see Jesus coming in the clouds, including those who pierced Him (Rev.1). What do those on that 6th Seal see...

Rev 6:15-17
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him That sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17 For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"
KJV

At that very moment, they SEE The Father on His throne and The Lamb (Jesus). That doesn't happen until the final 7th trumpet and 7th vial, which is when the "day of the Lord" will happen, which is the "thief in the night" and "sudden destruction" upon the wicked of 1 Thess.5, which is also God's consuming fire of 2 Peter 3:10!

So please, read your Bible more carefully. We all make mistakes from time to time, but there's no reason to deny the Scripture in favor of a pet doctrine of men. Speculation is OK as long as it says with what is written, but not if it clearly goes against it.

I do not speculate. It is quite patronizing of you to say that my beliefs are 'mistakes'.

The idea of God's wrath, as per the Sixth Seal and all of the vivid descriptions of the great and terrible Day of the Lord's wrath; happening when Jesus Returns, is wrong and is your bad mistake.
None of the 3 clear descriptions about the Return; Zechariah 14:3, Matthew 24:30 and Rev 19:11, say He will burn the world then.

The 2 Peter 3:10 verse reveals God's consuming fire will occur on "the day of the Lord" which will come "as a thief in the night". You probably know that verse by heart by now, I've quoted it enough times.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5, Paul said the "day of the Lord" will come "as a thief in the night", and is when they shall be saying, "Peace and safety" when the "sudden destruction" comes upon them. He was pulling from the OT prophets about that final day of this world, the "day of the Lord" that will come "at an instant".

In Revelation 16:15, Jesus is warning His Church still on the 6th Vial, and said He comes "as a thief". That is the same metaphor Paul and Peter used for the "day of the Lord" timing. Then He shows a gathering in prep for the battle of Armageddon. Then with the final 7th Vial poured out, it's all over, and that is the LAST DAY of this present world, and day of His 2nd coming, and day of God's consuming fire.

Obviously you are unaware that there will be two Days of the Lord; There have been others in the past.
The first will be His terrible Day of fiery wrath. Revelation 6:12-17, Isaiah 61:2b, 2 Peter 3:7-10
The next will be the Great Day of the Lord Almighty, Revelation 16:14 and Revelation 19:11, and Matthew 24:30, which follows verse 29, that plainly states; the time of distress has passed.
Then with the final 7th Vial poured out, it's all over, and that is the LAST DAY of this present world, and day of His 2nd coming, and day of God's consuming fire.
Where does the Bible say Jesus will destroy the armies at Armageddon by fire?

Your juxtaposition of these two Days, is an error and is not what we are told by the prophets.

May you go in the peace and protection of our mighty God shining the light of Christ.
