It would be a shame for you to die at the hands of a lawless murderer;
The founders were not Christians but Deists
Jesus and his apostles - most of them anyway - died at the hands of lawless murderers, to their credit, not shame.
Why is everyone avoiding the Masonic influence?
...and? It never went anywhere..H. RES. 397
Affirming the rich spiritual and religious history of our Nation’s founding and subsequent history and expressing support for designation of the first week in May as “America’s Spiritual Heritage Week” for the appreciation of and education on America’s history of religious faith.
Why is everyone avoiding the Masonic influence?
...and? It never went anywhere.
George Washington among others confessed Jesus as Christ, their savior. Believed Jesus was the second member of the trinity. Deists do not confess the trinity nor Jesus as Christ. An excerpt from GW's prayer journal:
O eternal and everlasting God, I presume to present myself this morning before thy Divine majesty, beseeching thee to accept of my humble and hearty thanks, that it hath pleased thy great goodness to keep and preserve me the night past from all the dangers poor mortals are subject to, and has given me sweet and pleasant sleep, whereby I find my body refreshed and comforted for performing the duties of this day, in which I beseech thee to defend me from all perils of body and soul.
Direct my thoughts, words and work. Wash away my sins in the immaculate blood of the lamb, and purge my heart by thy Holy Spirit, from the dross of my natural corruption, that I may with more freedom of mind and liberty of will serve thee, the ever lasting God, in righteousness and holiness this day, and all the days of my life.
Increase my faith in the sweet promises of the Gospel. Give me repentance from dead works. Pardon my wanderings, & direct my thoughts unto thyself, the God of my salvation. Teach me how to live in thy fear, labor in thy service, and ever to run in the ways of thy commandments. Make me always watchful over my heart, that neither the terrors of conscience, the loathing of holy duties, the love of sin, nor an unwillingness to depart this life, may cast me into a spiritual slumber. But daily frame me more and more into the likeness of thy son Jesus Christ, that living in thy fear, and dying in thy favor, I may in thy appointed time attain the resurrection of the just unto eternal life. Bless my family, friends & kindred unite us all in praising & glorifying thee in all our works begun, continued, and ended, when we shall come to make our last account before thee blessed Saviour, who hath taught us thus to pray, our Father.
Nope. It was introduced in 2009 and died in 2010. It never got off the ground and was never put to a vote.I found it to be a nice collection of facts concerning American history. Wouldn't you agree?
If you wanted to classify it as "failures in American history" I guess you could.
The house resolution you posted died on the table, and failed to even make it to a vote.Failures? It's what America was built on. Why do you view rooting a nation in the righteousness of YHWH as failure?
Hence their influence was greater than any label of Christianity. That was a political decision. Not a spiritual one. In 1700's europe, the freemasons were known for plotting against monarchies, and for their opposition to the Catholic Church. That is what a protest-ant is. Someone who protests the Catholic Church. (-ant, a suffix as in 'defend'-'ant'. someone or something that defends) It was this protestant viewpoint concerning the governmental religion of the papacy (Vatican, catholicism is the government) that gave the birth to the separation of church and state. Freemasons also had a focus on individual liberties, and free market that appealed to our forefathers.
The house resolution you posted died on the table, and failed to even make it to a vote.
...and just what are the facts surrounding that house resolution?
Yes I read it, and the historical fact is that the text was a house resolution that failed and was never was put to a vote. What does it prove in your mind?Didn't you read the text? I made it easy for everyone by providing a link that leads directly to the text: Text - H.Res.397
"The so-called prayer journal is not in GW's writing, although I'm not sure it's actually a forgery. The manuscript dealer (Burk I think) who first sold it when it came to light in the 19th century printed a facsimile edition in which he admits that the Smithsonian rejected it as a non-GW document, but it did have Washington family provenance, so he said. Thus it apparently was a descendant's. Johnson's version is taken from Burk. The prayers are based on the English prayer book."
-- Frank Grizzard (senior associate editor of the George Washington Papers collection at University of Virginia) [in an email he sent] to Ed Brayton (2004)."

A lot of Lutherans in Minnesota, etc...The Puritans settled much of New England but not all colonies. Pennsylvania and Delaware were originally settled by the Quakers (except for some Swedes who remained from New Sweden). Maryland was Roman Catholic. Most of the south was Anglican. New York had a sizable number of Dutch left over from the Netherland’s colony.
