Greetings! I was thinking that I should like to RPG with someone based on one of the following scenarios:

#1) 1x1 request: Left Behind #2 (in honor of the first one that was posted): Nominal individuals who aren't really saved get a wake up call when the Rapture occurs. Because I don't want to get into OSAS, we'll say they are incredibly self deceived people who maybe find out at a church service (or wherever we decide) they don't actually know Christ as Savior when the Rapture hits.

#2) 1x1 request: Millennial Reign: A young man and woman meet during the Millennial Reign of Christ. She is in a Glorified state (taking romance out of the picture) and he is in his natural body, having been born during the millennial reign from believers that came out of the Tribulation period. For whatever reason (with any backstory we choose), she cares a lot for him (again, no romance obviously) and only wishes him the best. But he is stubborn and does not want to repent and believe ... until he has a REAL encounter with the risen Jesus Christ. :)
[For this one, I imagine we can take hints from the gospels and Revelation on how Jesus might act or what He might do during this time period.]

#3) 1x1 request: Miraculous Healing: A young man is a STAUNCH Christian who does not really believe in miracles. He gives lip service to the miracles of the Bible, but doesn't actually believe people can be healed, tongues, the whole nine yards. (NOTE: Myself, Peter, is someone like this. But, I like exploring other angles, so hope this might interest someone.)

This young man suddenly comes face to face with a MIRACLE; a cancer diagnosis that is suddenly healed. (Could be himself or someone close to him.) He is forced to reconsider his previous position, especially when during this MIRACLE encounter, he hears Jesus say, "Why are you kicking against the pricks!"

#4) Group Request: Revival: In honor of the story also that began on here but did not finish, I am happy to also be a part of a story about teenagers who find a deeper walk with the Lord through revival. Whether it would be going to church, going out for encounters with God on weekend hiking trips, etc. Needs about 3 - 4 people.

#5) 1x1 request: Mennonite Woman: A young Christian man or woman believes his/her way and his/her denomination is the only way. No one else is as good as them or their beliefs.

Suddenly, the person's car breaks down in the middle of the backwoods in a remote area of Pennsylvania where the Mennonites live. A Mennonite woman out of compassion helps the person, except there are strange happenings. There is no broken down car and the person finds themselves suddenly strangely lost with the Mennonite and crew equally as puzzled by the person's experiences. She invites the person to guest stables, but doesn't know what to do next. (Slightly more challenging RP, it would require research and knowledge into Mennonite ways. But we could research it and learn together.)

#6) 1x1, maybe short: Roman Centurion: A Roman Centurion is playing dice, casting lots for the robes of Jesus Christ. A single drop of blood fall from Christ's crown of thorns onto the Centurion. He thinks nothing of it at first, but as time goes on ... he realizes ... he can't seem to get that blood off his hands ... until He decides to apply that blood to his heart ...

#7) 1x1 request: Be My Sister: A lost young man in the mountains of Canada (again, need to research but I imagine like Heartlands) is running away from his past that haunts him. He knows almost nothing about himself and his heritage; he doesn't know his parents, only his adopted parents. A young lady who works on a ranch (and she can be married, so no romance in this) takes him in to train him how to take care of horses. His room starts in the loft of a barn, but soon changes to a guest room somewhere else.

One day, he has an emotional talk with her. He says "be my sister, I've never had one."

At first (depending on how you might want to play her character), she says 'yes', but is at a loss at what to do for him. He appears to be more needy and clingy then anything and his request for a sister, though well intentioned, seem a little "off" somehow.

Soon the Lord reveals to her that his request, though not a bad one, is misplaced. He is looking for her to replace emptiness in his own soul. She decides that she can be a sister, a sister in Christ. She has to get him off of an unhealthy obsession of sibling friendship and into a relationship with Jesus Christ. He seemingly refuses ... what will she do? Give in to his need for a best friend knowing it is not healthy for him in the end but will make him happy in the moment? Or will she lovingly lead him to the Lord thus setting his heart free from vain obsessions and possibly jeopardizing the relationship?

#8) Your request: Whatever you would like to play, I would like to hear.

I am at the point where I need some daily story writing and would love to participate in whatever someone might be interested in. Thanks for reading. :) - Peter James

Character:

May Mcknight-

Age: 42
Appearance:

hair: brown shoulder length hair she keeps in a French braided bun.

Eyes: brown

Height: 5'4

Weight: 140- average

Occupation: oncologist

Relationship with God: Believes in God, but doesn't really have one with Him. Devoted all her life to hospital work.

Relationship with family: her husband Joe serves as a doctor in the United States Army. Wanting to give their daughter a normal life, she stays with her in one place while her husband travels. Both her husband and daughter are on fire Christians (I'll make a bio for my character daughter later. Probably use my Lori character. :) )

Bio: All her life she dreamed of becoming a doctor. When her father died of cancer, she endeavored to help cancer patients and one day find a cure. She went to school and after 10 years obtained her doctorate in oncology. Driven for success, she worked many endless days and nights in the hospital and lab. When a man came terminally ill, she believed he had no chance. With his miraculous healing, her search for a cure will be nothing like what she expected it to be.

Character: Scott Taylor, age 28.

Appearance: Light, slightly dirty blond hair with always a pious scowl on his face. Sometimes he smiles. He's been looking thinner and thinner though due to his sickness.

Height - 5' 9", maybe 180 to 190 lbs with brown eyes

Occupation: Administrative Assistant to a building company, but right now on leave of absence due to his medical condition of lung cancer no doubt precipitated by his smoking habit and the habits of his family (so tons of 2nd hand smoke). Although he quit a few months ago, it did not stop the development of the cancer.

Relationship with God: Distant; Scott convinces himself he is close to God because he reads his Bible and goes to church on Sundays. But if he truly looked at himself he would realize that God is far away, distant. Which explains why he has so many empty holes in his life spiritually and emotionally. He doesn't really get excited as his church teaches him not to, his worship is fairly stale, and he never quite recaptured the feeling of Christ when he first got saved.

Relationship with family: Scott has no siblings and is not currently married. He does have a son from a previous relationship, however. He was saved at the time, but had a real lapse. Since then, he only sees the mother when it's time for visitation. With such a young son of 4 years old, they both did agree they thought it would be better not to let him see Scott like this.

Scott wishes he could be friends with his ex; but his preachiness, piety, and overall being a jerk makes it that she doesn't even want to be near him. Plus, she is not a Christian.

Bio: Scott grew up in an abusive home, but left when he was 18 or 19 to be a Thespian. Except, no one really wanted an actor they hardly knew and his auditions were less than stellar. Taking 2 years at a community college, he mustered enough skills to be an admin assistant to managers at a building company.

At his 27th birthday, things didn't feel right. Breathing was slightly wheezy and slightly out of breath. He began losing weight and kept getting infections until it was determined there was a mass of cancer especially on his lungs.

He had prayed and prayed and some at the church he was going to had prayed and prayed; his ex didn't visit with his son partly because she didn't know what to do and partly because she didn't want her son seeing Scott like this. She would never let him know she still loved him, mainly because he wouldn't forgive her past and he never could be a good Christian like he was.

But she knew she would have to visit ... soon ...

Character: Lori McKnight
Age: 15
Height: 5'4
Weight: 100 pounds
Appearance: Looks a lot like her mother with brown eyes and long brown hair, only she likes to wear it down. Usually wears a dab of pink lip gloss and pink stub earrings.

Occupation: highschool freshman. Aspires to be an army medic like her father and driven to make good grades like her mother. Babysits for extra cash and odd jobs as well as volunteer in the Children's wing in the hospital, reading to the kids with cancer.

Relationship with family: misses her father a lot when he is away, and wishes they could travel with him. With her mother working a lot also, she felt empty quite a bit of the time when her father was away.

Relationship with God: On fire like her father. Attends a non denominational church
Her church is her family and is very much involved in youth group. Unlike many other youth, though she feels empty with her family working, she uses God to fill that hole.

Bio: When her father wasn't away, every evening, he would tell her Bible stories in great animation. She could tell that he really believed in God and loved Him. This is what brought her to coming to love Him also. When she was 13, a new church opened up a block from their house. She rode her bike down a couple times a week, and it was there she came to accept Christ as her Saviour. Now at 15, she was learning about evangelism and telling others about God. A bit timid and shy, she started at the hospital, and was working her way up to talking more to her mom to find out if she really was a genuine believer.

So I have never been much into planning unless you have a specific idea for the story. If not, I sort of just start and write out planning/plots as questions come up amd things. Ive learned for any huge surprise twists, to plan it first in OOC. Cuz I do start getting ideas. Only thing, is I may be able to only do a post or two each night before bed depending on the writing style (short lines or big paragraphs. I'm sort of in the middle)

I am also open to tongues/dreams/etc, because I pray in tongues, but if added, Id like to make sure it is understood. I don't want any doctrinal difference in characters or anything to scare anyone away from writing or reading the story. Jesus saves! And He is the focus in a story like this. :) So I am excited to try writing stories like this since I have been on writer's block awhile now. Stories I write tend to be depressing and no matter how dark a story gets, I want to make sure that hope is still shining there.

Hi Lily! Thanks for writing back and for starting your characters. No need to plan, it can all be written extemporaneously. No worries about time or frequency or posting, you post when you are able. It is something for me to look forward to in the night.

I hung out with Pentecostals for 6 months back in 2000, so absolutely no worries! I'm just happy to be writing Christian fiction with someone.

I will post a starter then in a new thread and link it for you to begin. I will just do a few paragraphs so as not to overwhelm. - Peter James

so for later, May's sign she wants from God is to know whether or not to go to church with her daughter. She wants to get a relationship back with God, but is unsure if God is mad at her for staying gone so long.

I thought it be a good sign also to May that Scott had actually died and came back completely healed of cancer...

this story has a good start. :) you are a good writer!
Hi Lily, thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you shared more with me on your vision for the story. I wasn't sure exactly how the healing would take place, but death on the operating table with someone finally pronouncing dead after which suddenly all the hospital machines suddenly come back to life with activity sounds great! I think a lot of people walk around under the burden of believing God is mad at them when God loves them so very much; He gets mad at sin and how it trips us up. But He doesn't kick us to the curb; I love the story of the adulterous woman and people wanting to stone her and Jesus showing compassion.

So I hope this resonates in the story. I'd like to also explore how Christians have godly influences and friendships with other Christians; I think some Christians, myself included, are not always able to express their feelings or know exactly how to act around others.

The story is coming along real good and I think I'm picking up on clues from you. Like your character's daughter is going to be an integral part of the story; dare I say I think it is her faith that is going to heal Scott and your character, etc? I only write as well as the partner I'm writing with. :)

Sounds good to me! I sort of develop characters as I go along. I like having a Christian based theme and focusing on lessons, because I really become my characters in a way. Why fantasy types have never worked out so well.

Hi Shara!

The truth is, I keep going into the darkness into RPGs that are dark and forbidden. I came here to try to get into the light.

Please pray that I can get into the light again; I want to have godly pure friendships and stories that bring our hearts closer to Jesus.

But I just can't seem to get out of my rut ...

I know. It is really hard. Why I havent rpg'd in so long. Plus, not many like rpg or are more into fandom type things. But these days I write down my dreams, which will make an excellent book one day. :)

Wow; that sounds nice. Maybe one day we can start an RPG again, but go short term so we can finish. Please keep in touch through this forum on RPing if you wish. It looks like we're the only two here right now, maybe someone else will want to join. :)

Would it help if we started a new game? You can choose the subject, I like being an actor in a world that is not my own. :)

I'm happy to play a modern day scrooge if you want, or were you going to be a modern day scrooge? lol

Maybe just a quick plot line of how you want it to go down? It doesn't have to be excessively long either, it can be ... well maybe till New Year's? :)
