I don’t think abortion should be a choice period, but why not pass the born alive act? I don’t get it.

They probably want to keep their options open.

It doesn't have to as it wasn't passed.
I mean the child's civil rights. Said rights are already implied at live birth. Instead of a proposed law that recognizes those rights, their would have to be a proposed law that denies them.

The amendment is not needed. They just need to enforce existing laws.

what exactly would this amendment do that isn't already covered by the law on this topic passed 20 years ago?
Which law are you referring to?

My thoughts on this:

- I think this amendment is unnecessary. But it has the buzz words, "abortion rights," and so that presses everybody's hot buttons.
- I thought Trump supporters favored this whole campaign promise of his about, "For every law we pass, we will abolish two"?
- I think all Federal abortion laws should be struck down under 10th Amendment anyway. Supposedly Roe v. Wade was ruled under 4th Amendment, but I don't buy that. Abortion just doesn't fall under Federal jurisdiction.
