Good Day,

I am with Augustine on this:

Augustine (354-430): "Perish the thought, however, that Dr. Christ should lose in those whom he foreknew and predestined; because they are the ones he also called; and those he called are the ones he also justified; while those he justified are the ones he also glorified. Curb your vices, quench your lusts, let the devil and his angels be tormented with frustration; if God is for us, who can be against us"? (Rom 8:29-31). John E. Rotelle, O.S.A., ed., WSA, Part 3, Vol. 6, trans. Edmund Hill, O.P., Sermons, Sermon 229E.3 (New Rochelle: New City Press, 1993), p. 283.

16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

'With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change. But when the Day of God’s Judgment does come, it will be unannounced, like a thief. The sky will collapse with a thunderous bang, everything disintegrating in a huge conflagration, earth and all its works exposed to the scrutiny of Judgment.

Since everything here today might well be gone tomorrow, do you see how essential it is to live a holy life? Daily expect the Day of God, eager for its arrival. The galaxies will burn up and the elements melt down that day—but we’ll hardly notice. We’ll be looking the other way, ready for the promised new heavens and the promised new earth, all landscaped with righteousness.

So, my dear friends, since this is what you have to look forward to, do your very best to be found living at your best, in purity and peace. Interpret our Master’s patient restraint for what it is: salvation. Our good brother Paul, who was given much wisdom in these matters, refers to this in all his letters, and has written you essentially the same thing. Some things Paul writes are difficult to understand. Irresponsible people who don’t know what they are talking about twist them every which way. They do it to the rest of the Scriptures, too, destroying themselves as they do it. But you, friends, are well-warned. Be on guard lest you lose your footing and get swept off your feet by these lawless and loose-talking teachers. Grow in grace and understanding of our Master and Savior, Jesus Christ. Glory to the Master, now and forever! Yes!" (Msg)

Dear BBAS: God is for us, not against us! He loves us and them, the elect first fruits of His love & grace and the all of whom He IS Saviour.

Nothing but nothing can separate us or them from His great love!

I believe the passage in OP is suggesting that nothing, absolutely nothing, could ever separate us from God's Love if we are his sheep. There is much comfort to be had in this passage especially for those who are struggling in the faith.

Well finally there is something we agree on! When a person in this life gets born again there is nothing that can destroy our relationship with god. sin can block our fellowship but not our relationship!

But for the unbeliever who dies in their unbelief:

Matthew 7:23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 25:41
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

John 3:18 King James Version (KJV)
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:36 King James Version (KJV)
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Revelation 20:13-15 King James Version (KJV)
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

For these terrible things that await those who refuse ot receive Christ or do not hear the gospel, that is why we need to heed these two verses:

Matthew 28:19-20 King James Version (KJV)
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Romans 10:12-15 King James Version (KJV)
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

God has ordained the preaching of the good news of Jesus to each and every member of the body! woe unto us if we do not obey our part in that call!

God is a gentleman, and if you make up your mind that you do not want to be convicted of sin, nor have God in your life, He will leave. That will be the ultimate separation from God. God will love you but will also honor your request. That is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Just like that whole bunch of times, Israel didn't want him to convict them of their sin, but he did anyway, in a totally gentlemanly way.

Actually He does...

"Before Him all the nations will be gathered, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats."

Dear friend: the goats are His, the sheep are His. We are His & they are His. I trust you spent a wee amount of time looking at one of the oldest pictures of the Master in the catacombs of the early Church. If you did, you will find what they believed.

Only ourselves, which is the only reason why hell is a possibility.

Nonsense!

All four hell's are consummated in the Lake of Theos radiating with theion and theioo!

Nothing = nothing.

Ouden = nothing.

Nothing separates us from His love.

That is correct nothing can separate "us" i.e. "God's elect," NOT all mankind.
Romans 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Anybody can make the Bible say almost anything they want it to by quoting selective verses out-of-context.

Nothing separates those who love Him from His love. That said, you espouse a non-Christian novel theology if universalism is your thought. Sin has already exiled us from Eden into a place somewhere between heaven and hell, with countless victims suffering unspeakable atrocities/evil down through the centuries.

SIN separates us from God....

ISAIAH 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

The word used here (בדל bâdal) conveys the idea of division, usually by a curtain or a wall Exodus 26:33; Ezekiel 42:20. Thus the 'firmament' (רקיע râqı̂ya‛, "expanse") is said to have "divided" or "separated" (מבדיל mabedı̂yl) the waters from the waters Genesis 1:6. The idea here is, that their sins were like a partition between them and God, so that there was no contact between them and him.

This is in line with...

PROVERBS 28:9[9] He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
PROVERBS 28:13 [13], He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.

May you receive Gods Word and be blessed..

Those who love Him are the first fruits of His love & grace. Those who do not love Him yet are in for a glorious treat!

The many "made sinners" in Adam1 = the many "made righteous" in the Last Adam, the Master of at-one-ment.

Yup!

And, L.G.W., that dreadful cavern of misery is addressed in the One who undoes every last miserable element by swallowing it into Himself.

All thanantos swallowed in the Heavenly Big Gulp.

Dear Marty: The mercy of the Lord indeed does not expire when we do!

Superior Plan A =

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Alternate plan b =

I am not persuaded that there is not something than can separate us from the love of God.
