“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’

I was reading Matthew chapter 7 last night and every time I come across this verse, it gives me the chills. Arguably the most powerful verse in the New Testament. Just makes you want to a take deep breath and say "Wow." Do you feel the same way? Any thoughts?

Every. Single. Time.

it’s my greatest fear in life to hear those words from my savior. Because it means he wasn’t my savior and I was self deceived.

I think I hold on to many beautiful scriptures in this, however the two concepts that cement it for me that I’m not one of those are
1) illumination of the scripture: I can’t conceive of a way I could have been spoken to so powerfully through the word of God as basically every time I pick up the book. I read romans 8 twice yesterday and cried once, I was like not even studying it I was just listening to a ready and I cried. I feel like it would be impossible for me to hear the word of God and feel it pierce my heart every time if I didn’t have the HS. Before I was fully/truly saved I read it and got emotional feelings at times and thought I was saved but after I was born again, totally different experience. Tho I don’t read as I ought.

2) the desires of my heart: I want with all my heart to obey and seek Christ, not out of fear but out of knowing what it is to taste the joy and peace of sustenance from Him despite bad circumstances (in which I am still struggling). The desires of my heart are not what they were before.

so that’s at least what I tell myself but what the hell! And I don’t mean that as a bad word, it’s on topic!!!!

I think this warning from Jesus should bring fear and trembling to anyone who really hears it. Since the bible says, "fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; Fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 7
