I don't like Roman Catholicism, as most gypsys are renowned for being, but he certainly showed Deontay Wilder who the Boxer was! I am not a fan of boxing, but was drawn to listening to it, (as it was too expensive to watch). Nice touch singing 'American Pie' afterwards, not a bad voice.
At least he acknowledged God first, albeit they have a distorted view of Him.

Boxing holds my attention up until the bell rings.

he showed his true love of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

You would say that as a catholic, but I would say that is the 'other Jesus' of 2Cor11v4

For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!

No offence to you, I was Protestant, until I found that also to be 'other Jesus' doctrine.

"Futbol" forced its way into my thinking when I lived in Zaragoza, Spain for eight years. Still remains, even though "Real" Zaragoza has been relegated for years. Of course, they had to win the UEFA after I left, and that by a freakish, long-distance goal.

The one boxing match that grabbed my attention once was when Kenny Norton beat Ali--actually broke his jaw in the process. Race baiting reached its zenith in the U.S. when there was much gloating over Ali putting a "whooping" on Jerry Quarry.

What is laughable is how, after years of wrangling about the savagery of boxing by a congressional committee, all the angst dissipated. Now we have the wonders of gentlemanly mixed martial arts.

Thats utter nonsense. Nothing to do with Catholicism. Its about true love of Jesus.

No need to go bashing Catholicism my friend.

No, you attacked Catholicism straight away my friend. Nobody attacked you being a protestant.

Because you put 'true', is implying the rest of Christianity is not true! I also said I was Protestant, i am non-denominational now.

Most non denoms are just as Protestant as the Methodists or Presbyterians.

They just don’t have the structure or safeguards that a larger organization can provide.

Or the overshadowing and scandals that engulf larger organisations. It can be beneficial to rise and fall on the merits of your own church instead of the misdeeds of another.

It is the “fall” part that concerns me. If a leader in a non-denom independent congregation goes off the rails there is no external accountability to straighten him/her out.

Not me, I don't do any church rituals, (water baptism & communion), & don't go to any church building, or celebrate xmas, easter, birthdays & any other pagan festivals. I wouldn't want a manmade organisational structure.

True but the counter-argument, as we've witnessed countless time and will countless times again, churches like the Roman Catholic Church relocate Priests accused of sexual abuse and rape, silence the victims and in the cases coming to light, use their funds to fight against it instead of kicking paedophiles to the curb like they should have done in the first instance.

Yes, i said true love of Jesus.

That is not a denomination specific remark! How do you twist it to think that?

So what spiritual authority do you submit your self to as is commanded in the NT?

Hebrews 13:17
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.

I submit to God & His Word, & have had one teacher who has helped in my quest for Truth, but I also have others, where I sift truth from deceit, & through my own studies. Until there is a definitive one, in particular, I will carry on with gaining more knowledge, wisdom & understanding of His Word & Will.

Like millions of little boats aimlessly wandering around in the vast ocean without a rudder! You are not alone my friend. There are millions on non denoms in the world, each trying to interpret scripture / God's word for themselves.
