Just a thought, it may be worth going for a walk to walk it off, if it is safe...
I took a couple of Rennies and have been pacing around the flat a little bit. Thankfully, it seems to have settled down a lot now :)

I am on the night watch tonight, I pray for you for a good night's sleep tonight in Jesus's precious name,
I am so glad you had a good meeting with your friend.

Praying it goes better than expected for you. Anthony, may the Lord grant both of you peace. As I mentioned last night, the chaos which has riddled my sleep pattern isn't something to gauge for understanding, , but one other thing I have encountered that isn't always set at an expected time, and that is the spirit of slumber, strong slumber, the kind which you could use to sleep in your tracks. It comes over me like a wave (about 5-seconds) and usually doesn't stay long. Reminds me what He said of the Spirit which the moving thereof is fully independent.

Anybody else run into this?

yes, chaos is a good word to describe my sleep patterns.
It is getting better, concentrating on prayer on this goodnight thread, listening to Anthony's musical posts, I feel prayers for sleep are being answered.

Got back home. It's been such a long day - over 13 hours at work.
Just tucked into some chicken and chips, have been up for a while reading messages and chats. Nearly ready to collapse into bed!

I'm just listening to one of my all time favourite melodies played on guitar.

Romance - Jeux Interdits

That is so well played, I must start playing my guitar again...

No chips this evening. Just a humble spag bol - a la microwave.
Been very wet and windy today. Apart from going to the morning church service, I've spent the day indoors. Gave me chance to do a quiet and reflective version of one of my tracks "Another day".

Hope you have a relaxed and peaceful evening.

We had the same for tea tonight, my daughter came with 2 bowls of Bolognese and I just cooked some spaghetti to go with it. Yummy.
I like the music! We have had a challenging weekend with Peter's problem, so discovered that he is better in bed resting. So he has gone back to bed after tea. The nurse comes tomorrow, so she will sort everything out.
Hope the storm hasn't been too bad. We have had sunshine today, and seemed to have missed the worst of the weather.
God bless us all dear Father and grant us all healing sleep tonight in Jesus's precious name.

The theme of this morning's service was the Beatitudes. We sung a good number of hymns and songs, including God Has Spoken By His Prophets (to the tune of Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken). Everyone stayed behind for coffee and a chat.

Back to work tomorrow, but looking forward to meeting my friends in the evening for an Indian meal.

Good night and God Bless

Hi musicalpilgrim
The evening meal went really well. I had the Lamb Kurma, with a Nan and of course the complimentary poppadums. Nice to meet up with my two friends again - hadn't seen them for a few months. There was plenty to talk about!
Praying that you will have a peaceful night, Peter too, and also for all our other friends on the forum, including Quietbloke - hope he is OK too and will be good to hear from him.
Spent the later part of the evening chatting to a friend on the phone who is very stressed and upset at the moment, trying to offer words of hope and encouragement.
At work, I was trying to encourage family members of a palliative resident. They asked me why I was offering them free meals and accommodation at the home, as surely these weren't for them but for people living at the home. I explained that when we are taking care of a resident, we also take care of their family. I hope by trying to make them feel special and included, it may help relieve some of the suffering and grief.
All we can do is bring our own lives and situations, and that of others, to God and seek his help. I'm reminded of that ancient prayer always used at the start of Compline, based on Psalm 40:13 "O God make speed to save us. O Lord make haste to help us". It an unceasing prayer, denoting our entire reliance on God at all times and in all circumstances. It is an acknowledgement of our frailty and God's strength, our humility and confidence in His help. It reminds us of our continual need for Him. As Psalm 121 states: "My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore".

It's been a busy day at work.
Came home and thought I'd try cooking a pancake in the air fryer, the only problem being that I didn't have any circular tins, only square. Naturally, the pancake mix spread out when cooking and I ended up having a square pancake. Still, it's better than none!
Afterwards, I went to Wednesday Evening Prayer followed by Eucharist at my local church. There were about 5 of us seated together in the Lady chapel. It's a very short service with no hymns or sermon, but usually some psalms and a Bible reading. The reading was taken from the first chapter of James and the theme was about us bridling our tongues, being quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger.
Will be retiring to bed soon, thought I'd share this piano track, which seems quite appropriate for the end of day. Praying for a good night's rest for us all!
