Music is just music. It is not the beat, or the instrumentation, or the volume that makes it Christian or non-Christian, good or bad. It's the meaning. The words, or the thoughts the musician had in mind while writing it. It's overall what the musician or band wrote it about.

TMM, PLEASE, educate yourself about this music and maybe, just maybe, we will actually listen to what you have to say. Right now all I see is ranting gibberish from someone who knows nothing about me worshiping Jesus.

Agree 100 percent. I want chapter and verse not opinion and certainty from the other guy who thinks Retards Attempting Poetry is somehow more edifying and less anger inducing

LOL! If you can't understand why I say thrash death metal is bad for the soul then there is no hope in helping you to realise. If you believe that screaming along with that cranked up guitars and drums noise is pleasant and is for worship then all the best with your worship time. I find it terribly nasty music with harsh negative undertones no matter what the lyrics say, it's relentless aggressive screaming and you won't be hearing that rubbish in the new earth. You thrash metal lovers simply don't like my opinion, I understand why you are so defensive of this terrible taste in music, it is because you harbor anger, resentment, bitterness and thoughts of malice. This is why you sympathise with this angry nasty sound, for out of the mouth comes the overflow of the heart.. you say only people who have experienced pain can connect with this music? Then you are still in pain, haven't forgiven, haven't repented and are not healed and made whole. You won't find the Messiah's peace in thrash metal..

"I just realized TMM is attacking Christian metal in this thread, but praising Christian rap in the other thread. He's lost all credibility in music for me."

I don't need your credibility to express my opinion. That's all I am doing, it's my opinion. Is my opinion credible? I wonder what general readers would be thinking, instead of a Christian thrash metal fan. I would advocate well rapped to artistic songs as worship material any day over the filth that is thrash metal! I do like some metal, when it is original and well crafted, even a momentary scream to express a necessary message and emotion. But honestly, Christian thrash metal? Endless screaming, droning, grinding aggression, in the name of what god? the god of this world that's who, satan!

This sort of music is what you would hear in hell whilst being tortured with fire and brimstone, yup! ;-o !

Not sure if you will see this response but I thought I'd let you know that I copied and pasted your incredible comments unto a you tube thread discussing the style of "Christian Death Metal". Thank you. Would you like the link? How does this angry style take precedence over the way Jesus delivered his message to his people???? Look what the Christian Death Metal singer said to me, "Lightseekers Art IG If ever come to your town please gather up the rest of the westboro folk and protest my show"
How is this not mocking the Word of God???? It is twisting the Word and making everyone feel sorry for him (the singer of Impending Doom)!!!

I can imagine Jesus cranking some "death" metal as he drove the money changers out of the temple.

I'm almost 50 years old. I have grown weary of the argument that some styles of music are evil simply because one might not like or understand it. Some classical music is just as dark and angry as metal.

Would Jesus mosh, is the question really.

As for anger: Jesus' anger was pure and righteous, with no taint of sin.
Let all bitterness and wrath (θυμός) and anger (ὀργή) and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. (Eph 4:31) But now, you must put them all away: anger (ὀργή), wrath (θυμός), malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. (Col 3:8)18
Jesus had righteous anger. We as humans need to stay away from anger for it is sinful. There is no such thing as "righteous anger".

Metal music can be about anger but it can also be about power. Some see god as a gental loving god, some see Jesus returning as a lion to slay the wicked. It is all about the perspective of the listener. Metal is basically classical music played on distorted guitars. A lot of Bach's pieces were written to be played in church. I quit school in the eleventh grade because a road band talked me into touring with them. I haved played every style of music since then and I have to say country music has the most vulgar lyrics of any style in my opinion. A country christian band would probably never be judged as being evil. I know because I was in one. I have played in church for the last 14 years. I know some people like the modern worship and that's great, I couldn't take it anymore it is very commercialized and uncreative, if I was Satan I would keep it just the way it is as lukewarm as the church of laodicea. You can't tell one band from the other and it just seems like repetitious brain washing chants. This is just my opinion my wife listens to it all the time but when my son says Christian music just isn't as good as secular I want to tell him he is wrong but I can't because he is probably right.

Anger is not sinful. Jesus never sinned. Jesus got angry. Our responses and reactions to anger can most certainly be sinful and often are.

Anger is not sinful. Jesus never sinned. Jesus got angry. Our responses and reactions to anger can most certainly be sinful and often are.

Psalm 37:7‒11 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD shall inherit the land. In just a little while, the wicked will be no more; though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there. But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.

Example of OT material that associates human anger with sin or as causing sin:
So Cain was very angry and his face fell. The LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.” (Gn 4:5b‒6)
Also read Jon 4:1‒4

Jesus had DIVINE anger-"Righteous anger". Of course He did not sin. Anger leads man to sin.

I understand that anger is a human emotion but in the topic at hand, Christian Death Metal bands are teaching their fans how to minister using a tool called "anger". For example, the "repentagram" represents the 9 Fruits of the Spirit. In a lot of the Impending Doom lyrics we find key words such as "wrath", "rage", "anger", "gorship" (Worshiping God THRU gore?????). Where in the 9 Fruits of the Spirit do we find these keywords? Are we to minister to others with anger/rage in mind? What kind of advice are these metal fans getting a taste of here?

There's all kinds of things wrong with that observation. It doesn't take into account the faith of people in "secular" bands, and it also ignores Christian bands that aren't mainstream enough to be played on the radio. One also needs to consider what the record labels want to promote. If one band with a particular style seems to do well, then other record companies rush to promote other bands that sound kind of like them - and much of the time, the "imitators" are seen as poor ones, even if they've been around for longer. Christian record labels do this too, so the effect of this on Christian bands seems to be outsized.
