It's approaching Lent 2020. I have been thinking about how I am going to use this time to draw nearer to Christ and grow in my faith.
I will be reading "Meeting God in Paul" by Rowan Williams. It is book with daily/weekly readings which can be used over Lent as well as a general book giving an insight into the life of Paul the Apostle. In his review, David Suchet, who presented the BBC programme "In the footsteps of St Paul", he states 'This is a most important and much needed book. It releases St Paul from the box of popular misconception and introduces us to Paul as a powerful evangelist who welcomes all who want to follow Christ, and wishes to bar none.'
Halfway during Lent, I will be spending a couple of days with the brothers at Glasshampton Monastery, to take part in their daily life, eat meals with them, join them in prayer and worship, as well as enjoying the grounds, the surrounding woods and streams, and hopefully take some nice landscape and nature photos (weather permitting!).
Towards the end of Lent, close to Palm Sunday, is my birthday which marks a new chapter, in my life.
People often talk about giving up things for Lent, but I am going to use it to give my time to God. I am using the time to determine what God wants me to do with my life, a time to silence myself and listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

See the PROPHETIC prayer of Habakkuk
Habakkuk 3:2-5
2 O Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid(I am awed by your deeds): O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years(Bring your work to life in our own age), in the midst of the years make known (make it known in our own time); in wrath remember mercy(in anger, remember compassion.)
3 God came from Teman(God comes from Teman), and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens(His splendor covers the sky), and the earth was full of his praise(and his praise fills the earth.)
4 And his brightness was as the light(His brightness is like the sun); he had horns coming out of his hand(rays come forth from his hand): and there was the hiding of his power(that is where his power is concealed.)
5 Before him went the pestilence(Before him goes pestilence), and burning coals went forth at his feet(and close behind, the plague.)
Yeah, God comes from Teman. Now, even now, in one certain day of this beginning of the seventh and last millennium, or seventh and last Day, the Lord's Day, the LORD shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel - Michael - , and with the Trump of God (the Trump is sounded by the archangel): and the dead in Christ shall rise first (Daniel 12:v.1-3 and 1Thes.4:v.16).
Before him goes the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet, and close behind, the plague. Paul Apostle prophesied, saying: 2Thes.1:v.7-12:
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be REVEALED FROM HEAVEN with his mighty angels, - Revelation 12:v.7)
8 In flaming FIRE taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: - Before him goes the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet, and close behind, the plague.-
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the Glory of his Power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
At midnight there was a cry made (who will cry out?), Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Be ready because they that be ready will go in with the bridegroom to the marriage: the door will be shut soon. The day 1.335 is not so far, believe you or not, understand you or not .
