Same here. I wouldn't necessarily vote for a Christian candidate for the same reason.
It is about policy and what most closely a person can vote for with a clear conscience. There are deal breakers for me though.

When we get a homosexual candidate who's truly celibate, let me know. ;)
Yes but I’m just asking. What if someone was homosexual in orientation but did not act on it because of personal beliefs. Would you vote for them?

If I was satisfied that they were truly celibate, I would consider it.

I just know the Church teaches that being homosexual is not a sin but acting in it is. So say, a devout homosexual Catholic is a candidate and follows Church teaching to the best of their ability and I liked the policies, I do not see how I could not vote for somebody like that.
