There is nothing barbaric about a woman taking one pill and laboring a dead fetus. Abortion is just that, like a miscarriage, unless she has surgery.
No abortion is nothing like a miscarriage.

A miscarriage is not intentionally harming the human being in the womb.

Abortion is the premeditated termination of human life. Meaning premeditated murder.

Which is why I want to know what makes pro-lifers hate contraception.
Again, that's an assumption. You'd have to get specific with your point, because I guarantee ALL pro-life people do not.

How did you miss the part about Plan B? I suggested police having it to give the rape victim so she won't get pregnant and seek an abortion. She will still be in a mental mess, but not also have all of the physical consequences.
Some people call Plan B abortion. I'm a bit torn on this aspect because for a woman to actually get pregnant it's not just "conception" (Fertilization) but implantation as well. A lot of fertilized eggs never implant, on their own. So to me the "conception" isn't just fertilization but is fertilization+implantation, only way a child will result.
So while I would have no problem with plan B or morning after pills, pills that prevent implantation from occurring. Other people do, and God might. It's one of those things that isn't in the bible explicitly and you can only make leaps of logic on basic principles to answer.

So can anyone explain why "pro-lifers" oppose mandatory sex education and contraception?
It depends on the sex education. If it’s like the one I had in health class then that addressed biological functions. If it sexually explicit then families should be able to opt out and teach their own children.

For Christians who actually are part of a church this is a no brainer. Both the church and family partner to properly educate children on God's beautiful creation of marriage and procreation.

God gave us free will and just like I can't force anyone to choose abortion, neither do you have a right to force a woman to stay pregnant against her will. It is about respecting her decision, knowing what is right for one woman is not right for another.
God actually does not give us “free will” to murder.

If a baby is bound to be stillborn, would you want to deliver a naked corpse in your body 9 months later?
Who said stillborn? That’s not an abortion. You were advocating abortion as means to an end. Meaning you advocate aborting a child in the womb is better than having that child live in poverty.

No, morning-after pills are not contraception.

No, there is no reason to have an abortion, and it has nothing to do with contraception. Either, A) don't have sex, or B) have the man who raped you arrested.

I may be a little hard-nosed, but I go Old Testament on rapists, and I tend to seek the harshest of punishments. Incidentally, I feel the same way about murderers.
I still scratch my head at the rape/incest defense. What did the kid do? The woman raped is a victim and the child aborted is a victim. Then the rapist if caught and convicted gets what? 4 to 5 years in a prison with 3 hots and a cot and cable TV.

And for “good behavior” gets out sooner.

Yes He does. Jesus did not run to grap a sword out of someone's hand. He told the person to put it down in another place.
Can you explain this? God forbids murder. The fact that people do it is not God condoning their sinful murderous act.

Having the guy arrested doesn't make the woman not pregnant though. She still has lasting consequence from that vile act against her.
True. But a question...what did the child in the womb do to get terminated?

I was thinking abput preemies - the babies most likely to be parked in NICU, Onlly two or three people in the world can decide, based on their living situations, abililty to take care of babies, lifesyle, and health of both herself and the embryo

This was the position of all Christians back before 1930 but is exceptionally rare now among Protestants.
Yes it is a mixed bag reference contraception with Protestants. However, the trend is changing quite significantly among the theologically orthodox of Evangelicals. The small church I belong to boasts many more children than adults. Young married couples with large families.

True. But a question...what did the child in the womb do to get terminated?

It caused problems for the mom by itself. Childbirth is a cause of death in normal childbriths, but mothers are not harmed at abortion clinics.

You went from a born premature baby to an embryo. Your posts are quite confusing.

Are you now advocating infanticide if a born child is critically ill?

This has to be the most absurd thing I’ve read in this thread. The issue is what has the child in the womb done to be killed?

Could you answer that question without introducing another unrelated issue?

Well, the point isn't that the child did something to deserve to be aborted. The point is that getting pregnant under those circumstances is going to be extremely traumatic, so it's better to think of it as a particularly ugly mental health exception.

I’m familiar with the point and that is why I posed the question.

Woman victim of rape
Child conceived aborted victim as well

Rapist if caught and convicted gets about 4 years in jail and then at liberty to rape again.

Something not right with that and I’m sure you see it too.

And people want to do away with minimum sentences. :(
