I find I am so honest, I believe everything anyone else tells me.

That characteristic would be gullibility or credulity not honesty.

"Gullibility is a failure of social intelligence in which a person is easily tricked or manipulated into an ill-advised course of action. It is closely related to credulity, which is the tendency to believe unlikely propositions that are unsupported by evidence."

If it makes it any better there seems to be lots of that going around so not like you are alone.

But she is correct..... .people who are honest have a tendency to think that others are honest..... .whereas people who are themselves dishonest..... .will think that an honest person is being dishonest!

I disagree. Its a matter of being able to distinguish between reality and fantasy

No, honest means

"free of deceit; truthful and sincere"

It does not mean you have to be gullible or credulous. You can be honest and smart. If someone chooses to be otherwise it is his/her decision.

Is some man turning water into old wine reality or fantasy? Maybe it is a good thing you weren't living back then.

If some stranger come to you now offering to sell you water bottles that would turn in to a fine wine tomorrow how much would you pay for them ?

Sorry, not one scripture or prophecy anywhere in the Word of God mentions bibles dripping oil. This type of trickery come from the deceiver, God's enemy and our enemy.
I have no idea whether this would be true or not. First I'd have to know something about the character of those involved....something that would be hard to know just by reading about something on the internet. Obviously it's one of two thing. True or a scam.

To say though that you need a scripture for anything out of the ordinary that might take place I think is really an argument without merit. Yes you need scripture for doctrinal belief systems BUT signs and wonders seem like a different category. For example Jesus spit in the mud and put the mud in a man's blind eyes. John 9:6 You don't see scripture in the Old Testament for that which was the Bible in Jesus day.

Also in John 5:1 you read about the pool at Bethesda where an angel periodically would come down and stir up the water with healing power and the first one in would be healed. You don't find a scripture in the Bible that supports that either. When it comes to some of these things you don't need to. God sometimes out of his sovereignty just does some unique things to draw attention about the reality of God. So is this oil thing legit? Don't know. I'm not there to see it visually in front of me. Can't I trust what these people are saying? Not unless I know something about their credibility as people so why I'm not negative about it I still just don't know.

TRULY WELL SAID!!!!!

Thank you!

Watching people on video can give us many clues that we would never notice by merely reading what they write and if I have even a tiny little bit of discernment..... Johnny and Jerry and their expert witness Dr. Kevin Zadai....... sure seem like honest and truthful witnesses to me!!!!

I have not heard of or researched this particular claim (I use the word claim as I do not know the validity), but I do have some thoughts. For one thing, I fully believe that God can have a Bible drip oil. However, I am not certain that He would. It seems to me that God does miracles for a purpose. When He did the miracle of the oil with Elisha, it was for the widow’s livelihood. I don’t see any miracles in the Bible that were for no reason.
In answer to the thought that God would not “waste” (for lack of a better word) miracles on things like making a Bible produce oil but would focus on healing the terminally ill or other serious things... the Israelites rejected Jesus when He walked on Earth because He did not do what they expected Him to. His focus was not what they expected it to be.

All that I know for sure is that I am listening to many online church services from the churches that assisted in distributing the oil..... and wow..... the people are really, really, really enthusiastic and the attendance is astonishing for a town of only thirty three thousand people!

So, is your Faith in the person applying the Oil, the Oil itself, or Jesus?

Exactly!

I don't have any of the oil in question but I am taking a page from Mr. Jerry Peace who was told to drink the oil so yesterdays I consecrated a bit of olive oil in a mug in the name of Yeshua my Messiah, Yeshua my Saviour, Yeshua my Healer, Yeshua my provider, Yeshua my High Priest, Yeshua my Redeemer and..... I drank the consecrated olive oil. I've had an unusual amount of muscle pain these past couple of weeks......... and I do feel better today!

Actually it is both..... Honest people tend to think of others as honest........

Dishonest people tend to think of even honest people of being like themselves.... dishonest.....

but genuine discernment of all of these things is a gift of the Holy Spirit. My wife is amazing when it comes to discernment.

More specific information on the testing done on the oil is after the 11:00 mark in this video:

Oil from Bible Interview

I like the sign that they use...... "The church has left the building."

A 22 minute interview is too long. I did not see, her talking to those that ran the tests. I have no speakers.

God's gifts are free. So is the oil, by the way.

Sorry.... so far the only stuff that they have in writing is on their webpage and Facebook page......

I am not saying I don't believe them or that they are not sincere... I am merely asking is this of God or is it of something else? What purpose does God have to make a bible leak oil? Those questions coupled with the fact that I haven't seen anything first hand... makes me not take a position here. Maybe I will drive down there and meet them? I don't know. :)

Blessings.

In my opinion it would be a massive service to everybody on this forum and frankly for all Christians worldwide if you did go down and visit Pastor Johnny Taylor and Pastor Jerry Pearce and frankly... .it would be awesome if you made a video out of your experience. This would make you something of an unofficial video journalist working directly for Messiah Yeshua - Jesus because I really, really, really do feel that this is huge.......... one way or another?!

In my thinking there are only two possible sources for this........ and either way this would be big.... and could play a huge role in knocking out Atheism.

Big difference. That was JESUS. Son of God.

Why would God make a Bible produce oil? Be careful its not evil that is doing it.

For me, Jesus is ALL i need.

Fantasy. In John's gospel it wasn't 'some man'. It was the Lord of glory.

They didn't know that did they? What if you had lived back then; would you be one of the lost who couldn't believe that Jesus was the Son of God? Is unbelief your nature?

It was a 'real' miracle. It wasnt hidden...
