What's your opinion or even better, do you know? They say you get the gift of the Holy Spirit after you get baptized. Was my baptism valid?
Do you also get the Holy Spirit in another way too?

I was baptized when I was a teen but I don't think I was ready; however I was pushed into it so I thought I would try. I confessed it upon the day of baptism even though I wasn't sure if I believed in Jesus Christ but thought I'd try. After, I told my friends that they can avoid the Christians, I didn't understand much then. At that time around before that, I also didn't know if there was a god but after I believed that there was a God.

I believe the scripture says that the Holy Spirit enters you when you repent of your sins and believe in Christ as lord at salvation. There is no second gifting or baptism, it’s false doctrine due to misunderstanding of scriptures

I disagree, there is something special called being filled with the HS, and it can happen after believing.

Once you are saved, you have the Holy Soirit. The Holy Spirit baptizes us in Jesus, another believer baptizes us with water and Jesus baptizes us in the Holy Spirit.

There's a doctrine of baptisms,..." (Heb 6:2) There's 3 baptisms; specifically:

1 - By The Holy Spirit into Jesus is the baptism for salvation (blood baptism)
(Rev 1:5; Matt 26:28; Mark 1:4, 16:16; Luk 3:3; Acts 2:38: Gal 3:27, +++) Since Jesus shred His blood, there is remission for our sins (Heb 9:22) and His resurrection (I Pet 3:21) Also, "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise," (Eph 1:13) Baptizied, immersed fully, into Christ's body (I Cor 12:13)

Water and Spirit baptism follows - not in a set order or time criteria:
2 - By another believer (water baptism) (Matt 28:19++++!)
3 - By Jesus with or into The Holy Spirit (The Spirit baptism)
(Matt 3:11; Mark 1:8, Luke 3:16; Acts 11:16++++)' "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.." Gal 3:27 Asks Him for the Holy Spirit (Luk 11:13), receive power and boldness, (Acts 1 and 4).

"And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one." I John 5:7-8

...

I think it can be asked like in this:

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?
Luke 11:13

And Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth:

However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.
John 16:13

You can know it by it leading you to the truth.

By its fruits you can know:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Galatians 5:22

There is a great difference between being born again by the Spirit, and being filled with the Spirit. The latter generally being a second experience that comes after and separate from the first. This is born out by many scriptures, notably Pentecost.

When a person turns his heart to God, then the Holy Spirit enters his heart and dwells there. That is not the same as being filled with the Spirit. In my view and experience, the majority of Christians have no experience of the Holy Spirit because they have been bound up by the false teaching that Christians are automatically filled at conversion (or maybe at baptism).

Even after Pentecost, where we know the Holy Spirit first fell on them, we see some time later that the same believers all got filled again. How can that be if they were filled once and for all at Pentecost?

After Peter and John had been arrested by the Pharisees, interrogated and threatened not to speak of Jesus again, they went back to the disciples and the whole assembly cried out to God in confident faith.-
Acts4v31And they having prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and were speaking the word of God with boldness.

How many times can you fill the same vessel when its already full?
The truth is that we should seek the Lord daily for him to pour out his Spirit on us.

You recieve the Holy Spirit at salvation. You don't always feel it or you may choose to ignore, but it is there. God never forsake you.

That being said, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Do you believe He is the path to your salvation? Do you trust him to guide you? Do you want his love, grace, and spirit? The process is simple, but the conviction is not.

He is waiting. He will always be waiting. You only have to say yes.

Was my baptism valid?

No, in my ignorance, I was water baptised 3 times. As a baby, as an adult Anglican, & fully immersed in the River Jordan, in Israel, when I was a Pentecostal, all were unnecessary. Yeshua (Jesus), had a proselyte baptism, which fulfilled righteousness, as He was from Nazareth, the Pharisees would say, nothing good comes from Samaria, so to be heard in Judah, Yeshua was baptised. After Yeshua's death & resurrection there were no more rituals, Col2v14, making baptism spiritual, where our hearts are sprinkled with the blood of Yeshua, just like also circumcision is of the heart. John the Baptist said Yeshua will baptise with The Holy Spirit & Fire, well that is blood baptism, being a daily death to self.

Not at the time. Since you said in your first post
I wasn't sure if I believed in Jesus Christ
Baptism is for believers. Believe-then get baptised.

Mark 16:16
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

This is not saying you must be baptised to be saved, but that a believer should be baptised.
It's only the non-believer that is condemned, not the believer who is not yet baptised, otherwise no one could do a pre-death conversion.
If you are now a believer you might want to get baptised again, but I don't think you have to since you have been baptised even if done without the correct motives. I would pray about it and see what you feel led to do.

A person is born again only by the Holy Spirit, John 3:3.
When someone becomes a Christian, receives Jesus and accepts what he did for them on the cross, it is like being born again because God is now their Father, they have become his child, John 1:12, Romans 8:16, they have a new heart, 2 Corinthians 5:17, new life, John 3:16, 1 John 5:12, and a new family. All this happens through the Holy Spirit.
But we also need to receive the Holy Spirit, and keep on being filled, daily. The Holy Spirit gives gifts, 1 Corinthians 12:12-21, Ephesians 4:11, and we cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22-23, without him.
Jesus said that God will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him to, Luke 11:13. Being filled with the Spirit is not an automatic thing that happens at baptism; it may do, of course, but usually if the new Christian has asked to be filled.

It's not for me, nor anyone, to judge whether or not you have been filled with the Spirit - but if you have never asked to be filled, maybe that's your first clue.

Indeed; and Romans 8.9 says: 'If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his'. The believer is born by the Spirit, not by the flesh.

So why did the apostles continue baptising in water, eg Cornelius, the Ethiopian eunuch, etc.

We are born of the Spirit when we give our lives to the Lord. But that is entirely different to being filled with the Spirit, a later event as Pentecost shows.

We can see that being born of the Spirit is completely separate from being filled with the Spirit by looking at Jesus himself.

Clearly Jesus was born of the Spirit when he was conceived! Yet he was not filled with the Holy Spirit till his baptism! Not only that, but he did not exhibit power till his baptism. This can be surmised by the fact his father Joseph was no longer alive.

You are comparing the baptism of God incarnate to ours. It is not the same thing. John tells us that Jesus will baptize with spirit and fire.

But I'm not sure this is the moment for a theology debate. We have a person who desperately wants to find his way to God. He is seeking. Us arguing will not help him find the Truth.

Yes, but not instead of water.
What did Jesus tell his disciples to do, Matthew 28:19-20? Preach, baptise and make disciples.

But I'm not sure this is the moment for a theology debate. We have a person who desperately wants to find his way to God. He is seeking. Us arguing will not help him find the Truth.

True, but they want to know, among other things, if their baptism was valid, even though they weren't sure they believed. If you are saying there is, or should be, no water baptism, whether this person believed or not is irrelevant.

IF you, believe the following now, then you have been indwelt with the Holy Spirit.
What you had in mind is being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 2:8-10 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
8 I mean that you have been saved by grace because you believed. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God. 9 You are not saved by the things you have done, so there is nothing to boast about. 10 God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we would spend our lives doing the good things he had already planned for us to do.

John 3:16 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
16 Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life.
